銃砲刀剣類所持等取締法第2条
第二条 この法律において「銃砲」とは、けん銃、小銃、機関銃、砲、猟銃その他金属性弾丸を発射する機能を有する装薬銃砲及び空気銃(圧縮した気体を使用して弾丸を発射する機能を有する銃のうち、内閣府令で定めるところにより測定した弾丸の運動エネルギーの値が、人の生命に危険を及ぼし得るものとして内閣府令で定める値以上となるものをいう。以下同じ。)をいう。
第三十一条の十六 次の各号のいずれかに該当する者は、三年以下の懲役又は五十万円以下の罰金に処する。

Man I cant imagine what being someone who likes guns in Japan must be like. Though given how rare they are you would probably seen as eccentric if anything. Honestly lack of guns alone would probably keep me from ever living there.
