>"Steel case ammunition will wear out the barrel of a gun faster"
in their defense, I think TFB did a 10,000 round test and found that after 10 sustained 1,000 round sessions, the bimetal jacket, steel-cased ammo showed MARGINALLY more throat erosion and gas port flame-cutting
still a retarded argument as no one's dumping 1,000 rounds of sustained steel-case rounds in a session

Ok but it feels like almost everything causes or funds international terrorism.

Well your taxes fund the CIA so...

Its not marginal. But you could buy a new barrel by the time you wore your old one out and still have money left over shooting cheap russian ammo.

Very true
I'd bet that the cost of a new barrel, extractor, ejector, and firing pin combined are less than the cumulative $15-20 you'd save per 500rds shooting steelcase

There is such a thing as "seasoning" a barrel, but it's a bit more involved than running a patch every 5 rounds. And typically only done on precision bolt actions. And I dont meen muh durr rifle.

Anything involving any 50 caliber or 45 caliber round.

This is just a fact.

I've heard of running a cleaning patch every 5 rounds on a new gun to lap the chamber and remove any machining marks. I think even shit brands have good enough equipment that it isn't necessary
