Is there a better way to loop my MOLLE? I just send the strand all the way down the loops. Should I be weaving this? I find my IFAK hangs a bit lower than I'd like on the side of my PC and it rubs/makes noise on my belt mounted magpouch. Can I weave it or wear it higher?
Reposting since I just caught the end of last thread:
Jow Forums is the AR500 Armor Testudo Fully Loaded Package with current promos a good deal? $512 shipped
I'm a poorfag, I can't afford the best stuff. It's mostly condor for me. Afraid of armor ban, this is on deal. I know AR500 armor plating sucks so I have all 4 plates with their "build-up" coating added. Deal is carrier with 4 III+ plates, 2 trauma pads, mag pouches & pistol holster (That I need anyway).
I don't know much about the carrier but I'm looking for a larger one that would carry side plates. $500 is a hard limit, I'd like to spend significantly less...
highcom 4s17m from chase tactical
summersale20
Yes do weave it. Does the pouch have any loops on the back side of it? Typically things do
>armor ban
They are banning armor now?
Shumer is calling for it and judging from the red-flag laws backlash I'm assuming they'll sacrifice armor instead
God damn it is there no end with these people?
Not until you are completely disarmed and unprotected
Anyone have any experience running a type 63 chest rig?
are the hawaiian shirts from walmart decent enough for a boogaloo? i have a low budget
not him, but I just took advantage of that
Are Chase's plates any good? I can't find anything about their reputation or test results
they're from highcom. top quality but not exactly light.
im not selling mine but yes they are fine
Heck 10lbs for a L SAPI, I'll probably just go with these for 8.5lbs instead

Looking to get my first plate carrier. anyone have any experience with the AR500 invictus? currently considering it as an option against the JPC 2.0. other suggestions also appreciated
I doubt anyone will answer you as the last thread had no fewer than 50 posts asking about AR500 products
for the rest of us, I will probably grab an AWS plate carrier. awsin.com
How are you guys putting ammo on your chests? Kangaroo style, in the pouch? Direct attach to MOLLE? Chest rig?
thanks. guess I'll be the guinea on this one then. hopefully it turns out nice, if not, maybe I can still turn a profit on it at the height of the scare
getting their new triple mag pouch for it as well
I need cheap rifle-rated plates.
I'm never going to get shot and I don't care about the Civil War 2: The Legend of Curly's Gold so I don't care if they're "good" but the match I'm shooting requires rifle-rated plates.
Where can I find the absolute cheapest plates?
AR500, they have a buy one get one free fight now.
please, in your quest for poor faggotry, do not buy raw steel. If your plates are not treated for spalling and you get shot, I do not want to be the fucker picking shrapnel bits from your ball sack and chin.
AR500 is crap.
No shit, but said poster isn't concerned at all about its ability to stop bullets.
Said I would.
Once again, you ignorant niggers, it is time to read my insufferable pontificating and decide whether you will join your fellow practicalists or forever mire in the filth of the kiddy-stupidity.
Firstly, there are many things to take into consideration when visualising your masturbaroty, post-collapse heroism but there are a few constants that should ensure you can prolong the dream as long as possible.
1: your weapon - whatever it may be, from a Ruger Target Pistol to that LMT you’re trying to convince everyone DID NOT come from the sale or an arms-room scrap abomination like my first AR, you will need to base your load-bearing decisions around what ammo you carry. Current year + 4 SOP is to lug around a MINIMUM of 210 rounds, or 7 magazines, for your primary weapon, 45 rounds or 3 magazines for your secondary (if any) and whatever special ammunition you are tasked with (grenades, pyro markings, smoke, breaching rounds, whatever). It is therefore preferable to distribute this load of ammunition across your body in whatever way keeps YOU most mobile (running, climbing, low-crawling, sliding, rappelling, standing in front of mom’s bathroom mirror, whatever you’re called upon to do) while keeping your gear most secure. As such, refer to…
2. Magazine pouches - herein there lies a balancing act between speed and security. Closed-flap pouches are fantastic for Airborne, Air Assault, Amphibious or RECCE/LRRP functions as they keep your mags nice and snug and covered for all of your lots-of-moving-without-shooting time. Flaps can be shoved behind the magazines when you have time to prep for your dynamic nonsense. If you don’t...
Bungees are less secure but allow you to get at your mags faster. If you’re the kind of person who likes to single-stack their mags but likes to pretend that you’re going to need them in a hurry, bungees may be your thing. Bungees USED TO be the big thing due to their slightly “higher-speed” properties but have generally been eclipsed by…
Formed pouches - whether you want FASTMAG, ESSTAC (Correct Choice) or “custom” kydex some jackass formed with their easy-bake oven and a hot stream of piss, these will be your fastest-to-access but also your most purpose-built pouches. While flapped pouches can be used to store things that aren’t mags (medical inserts, small radios, battery packs, smoke/flashbang grenades, etc) and the ESSTAC pistol-mag pouches can hold your leatherman or small flashlight, these primary-weapon pouches will hold those and only those well. The concept is pretty simple, they just hold on real tight and it’s pretty difficult to make a brand-new ESSTAC pouch drop a mag through gravity alone, they loosen up just a little bit over time and the last thing you want to do after biffing the last 10 feet of your cliff-face rappel or bursting up for air after a nice long swamp-crawl is to go looking for that mag that had all the spare tracers in it. If you only want to keep SOME mags on you until just before you need them…
It's still crap. The curvature sucks. If OP wants something for a match, he ought to get something comfortable.
So are Bulletproofme plates any good?
Seems like the best deal from dealers in the pastebin.
Misc/stowable pouches - Blue force Gear corners the market on these. Basically just an elastic pocket, it’ll hold basically whatever fits nice and snug. They make “adjustable” ones and companies like First Spear will probably always be one step ahead on “expensive solutions without problems” with their multimag pouches. But, unless you’re planning on just carrying a bunch of magazines BUT NOW IN POUCHES you’ll want…
Everything AR500 sells is poorly made garbage, please do not buy their gear
They're made by Leading Technology Composites, one of the biggest names in the industry. They're the same guys that supply USSOCOM's SPEAR and Tactical Stand Alone plates, although those are many leagues above what BPM has to offer.
3. Load-Bearing Equipment - whether its a blank battle-bra with a bunch of molle or a sewn-together premade that’s JUST RIGHT for your needs, you’ll want something to carry all those boolits.
Purpose-built Rigs - like the Mayflower/Velocity Systems chest rigs or slightly-customizable ones like the Haley Strategic or BDS offerings offer a thick, solid, tight experience where you have places to put the things you want to carry. Many of these will integrate with modern or retro-fitted armor carriers using swift-clips or velcro panels. Ones that will not because they were made in the before-time (Chicoms, Type 83, SADF battle jackets, OIF-era Eagle Industries and others) are still viable options to be tossed on top of armor carriers and cinched down like we used to do in olden-times...
What are some decent gloves i should get?
Universal/Molle Rigs - HSGI, Tactical Tailor, some ESSTAC hybrid rigs, EAGLE Industries H-Harnesses or RRVs, USGI FLCs, Ranger RACKs, RLCS, SFLCS, whatever you want to call them, are platforms with maybe some integrated mag slots or map-pockets that will accomodate all of your amazing molle doodads. Both kinds come in different configurations…
Split-Front - some rigs have zippers (bad) or buckles (better) in the front that allow you to don and doff them differently or, more importantly, get nice and low when you’re going prone behind your DMR.
One-Piece - either because you want that sweet-sweet hourglass Nami figure or because you like having your gear front-and-center, you can find most of these rigs everywhere across brands.
Once your magazines are situated comfortably and securely on your person, you’ll want to look for ways to sustain the fight like…
4. Sustainment Equipment - Water. Water is fucking huge. You should have more water. You should be drinking more water. You probably haven’t had enough water today. At minumum, according to current-year +4 SOP you should have 100oz of water on you somewhere somehow, be it your canteens and your 2qt or your Camelbak. If you want to keep your camelbak bladder in your pack and carry a Nalgene bottle or whatever, do it, but have some water on you somewhere. Even if it’s in a cooler at the range, have some water next to the yoohoo’s and PBR.
Medical - this - this right here, baby - is my lane. You should have AT ABSOLUTE MINIMUM an IFAK consisting of: a TCCC approved Tourniquet, two occlusive dressings (even if its one chest seal and the bag it came in with some tape), compressed gauze (4.5”x4.1 yards), a pressure bandage (ACE Wrap, Israeli Dressing, NAR Emergency Trauma Bandage, whatever), and some good 3” Micropore Medical Tape. I’ve already done a whole big write-up on current SOP and I personally go around stashing extra TQ’s and tape rolls on everyone in my team and writing up SOPs for my junior guys. NCDs, NPAs, SAM-Js, SAMs, Cric Kits, IVs, IOs, etc, thats training you should ABSOLUTELY pursue to make yourself the most well-rounded force-multiplier you can be, but DO NOT skimp and DO NOT cheap out on medical. Even if you want to go for a full-pacifist run and just have tactical gear full of gauze and tape, you NEED that shit to work.
Special Equipment - be it local maps, compass, your Garmin, signaling devices, Comms (which you should have + friends with comms), protective masks, the worlds’ first MRE Tendies or other special offensive equipment like pyro or special rounds, you should have a place for all this stuff that isn’t in the way of your primary ammo, water, and medical. Now, if you’re thinking, “that’s all well and good but I have so much stuff and want to carry more, I might need a…”
5. Bag - you would be right. Whether its a little Camelbak MULE(the pre-laser cut patrician choice) or a Mystery Ranch Mountain Ruck, you may find you want a way to carry it all and have extra. I’m not going to dictate what goes in the pack because that’s a whole thing in and of itself like medical or why you suck, but I will suggest you choose what is appropriate to your mission set. Brands like Eberlestock, Mystery Ranch, Tactical Tailor, TSSI, and London Bridge Trading all have something to fit your needs just at different manufacturing standards and price points. DO NOT CHEAP OUT. IF you would rather go to REI or Bass Pro and pick out some high-speed civi hiking pack, go for it. I support this wholeheartedly, do what makes you back, you hips and your knees happy. Some folk still love their large ALICE Packs, some people have never had an issue with their MOLLE II. It’s all up to you, just try before you buy or you might just cry. Also, don’t be the Jansport guy. At least get Mercury, fuck. “But now,” you think, “I can carry all my cool stuff in a pack before I need it so why don’t I put my first-line gear on a…”
6. Belt - not a bad idea and you’ve got a couple choices…
Duty Belt - could be the one threaded through your belt loops so long as its sturdy enough not to sag under the weight you intend to put on it, be it your secondary weapon, another IFAK, a dump-pouch so you can scramble around looking for that mag you’re pretty sure had a few rounds left in it, your multi-tool so it stops poking you through your pants, or a couple more magazines because why not? Suspenders may be a thing here if you want to go full ALICE (hsgi makes some nice ones as to Blue Force Gear and Crye) or you may want to try…
Dual-Layer/Gunfighter - belts with a stiff velcro base that goes through the loops and holds your pants up with a second layer all the weight goes on. The velcro keeps the outer belt from moving while you do your pistol-drawing or mag-pulling and protects you from coming out of it if you’re using the D-ring as your personnel retention strap anchor. If you’re looking at price tags on Ronin, TYR, and even AWSin and are thinking, “Maybe I don’t feel like saving THAT long.” you might look into…
Battle-Belts - if you don’t care about color or fasion and want to relive the frustration of having to deal with these on the cusp of fazing old equipment out, they can be had for as little as $8.88 from places like Tactical Assault Gear who were early to the ACU era but late to realize that was a mistake. HSGI is still the standard for these belt-sleeves and they work basically the same way as the dual-layers but with a grippy texture instead of velcro pairing. Also best candidates for suspenders.
Now, before I jump into armor carriers, I need to place a disclaimer at the front: DO NOT BUY STEEL and DO NOT BUY AR500. It doesn’t matter what they coat it with or how many youtubers shot them in their backyard, you deserve the best protection. If you don;t have the money: Save Until You DO or Loot Them In The BOOGALOO. Any time you are going to make a purchase of an item designed to save or sustain your life DO NOT CHEAP OUT. Hesco and Highcom are both reputable brands in addition to Ceradyne and other .gov contract holders. Paraclete used to be pretty tits but the MOST IMPORTANT thing is that you look at the NIJ/DOJ/DOD certification sheet for the product you intend to buy. Look at how it was tested and under what conditions. There are a lot of myths surrounding armor. Look it up for yourself. Do not listen to the fuckstick on Youtube yakking about “multi-hit rated” or “would you rather have a dinner plate or a steel plate” don’t even listen to me and my anecdotes about motherfucks I’ve seen and attended to after being shot up, DO THE LEGWORK AND READ THE CERTIFICATIONS.
7. Armor Carriers - oh boy, everyone’s favorite topic. Let’s assume, for the sake of this post that you’re a big boi who decided to save up all his GBP and get some Level-IV stand-alone plates, you still have to put them in something. Covering them in 100-mile-an-hour tape and affixing them to your body is preferable to a cheap-shit carrier that won’t keep your plates where they need to be.
Pre-Built - if you have an uncle who used to work for the PD in the early 00’s when US Palm made their equipment, you might like one of these but you’ll have to re-work how you had everything within the confines of the “2-mags and a radio” thing most of these go for and will likely not have a proper cummerbund for side plates etc.
Slick - if you like how your LBE was set up and don’t want to change, get something like the Slickster, or the Beez Combat System Slick. If you want to look rad and stick your higher-end LBE to some velcro, go for stuff like Mayflower or Ferro/Perroz. If you want to overpay and buy everything separate from a bunch of high-on-their-own-farts, dog-fucking degenerates, go for Spiritus Systems.
What products of theirs have you had experience with? What aspects of the products were of the poorest quality? What were it's best features and how did they stack up to something comparable?
None of their steel plates are certified by the NIJ. They pad their certification list with TenCate models they do not even seem to sell. They run affiliate programs for youtubers in order to persuade them to their side. Their carriers are regarded poorly, their Level IV is a second-rate el cheapo RMA (#1155) sold at a substantial markup. Their steel plates are poorly-curved and do not stop M193 out of an 18-20" barrel.
Those are common faults that people find in AR500's stuff.
Well dang, thanks for the input. I had already placed my order by the time I got a response, was on a bit of a timer. I'll give it a try when it comes in and see for myself, it wont be under any stress, purely for larping purposes. Fingers crossed it exceeds low expectations
shout out to AWS for having a sick fucking belt that only cost $60
so are people panic buying armor?
should I panic buy some armor?
Worst case I sell it to some airsoft kid online and eat the hit replacing it with the jpc
Not the same guy but i too am on the fence about AR500. For the most part i haven't really seen any real complaints outside of Jow Forums on the subject. I suppose it is better than nothing if you have to get shot in the first place.
No you shouldn't. Don't be like the pack of retards swarming in here asking if raw steel armor in a chinese plate carrier or a 30 year old IOTV suit without backers would protect them. Make a rational decision with all information you can possibly get your hands on.
Yes, they do. How do I weave it? I'm new to this stuff. I can't seem to find a decent video on YouTube short of airshit people posting their "after" results of this.
Help!
there's a sale on these hesco plates that got me anxious. this is what i had specifically in mind
Congrats, you picked a piece of armor that is actually NIJ rated. Make sure you can actually buy from there, some places are boot lickers and won't sell armor to "civilians"
The L210 is a good plate. It won't stop 7.62x51mm M80 within NIJ backface deformation requirements (less than 44mm), but it offers robust protection against M855, M193, and 7.62x39mm. Pistol threats shouldn't be a problem at all.
explain the angle of the shoulder straps please.
Same angle as LBT6094 series
Can you explain why you chose such a steep angle? What's the benefits over a traditional angle?
are you done?
It's simply the design I chose to go with. It's quite cmfortable, especially with shoulder pads. I like a more angular profile. I thought to myself, I'm designing my own gear, why should I follow everyone else? Make it to be recognizable. Make it to be different.
I’ve got one more. I called called away for an emergency response. Back later.
you guys think schumer’s got a real shot at passing this thing? too many gun grabbing moms buy backpack inserts, i think
GUYS
Recommend me a helmet so I don't buy a $35 airshit.
I want a helmet for a small light, ear pro, and eye pro. I don't get shot at so a bump helmet is ok, I just want one that will be comfy and is under $200.
Please save me from this purchase
Maybe you should make it to be good lmao
they won't give a shot. more gun control laws own the cons and inconvenience white men the most
Why is it that bulletproofme requires you to order over the phone?
Everyone knows you get your Hawaiian shirts at Costco. They're cheaper than at Walmart, for Christ's sake.
i need it. where buy
They probably don't want to deal with connecticucks that can't legally order armor.
boomers get lonely and no one would call them voluntarily
yeah it just seems weird to me because ive never ordered anything over the phone and all of the other links in the pastebin required some sort of ID or special background.
Redpath Notions on Etsy
Judging how the site looks like it's out of the early 2000s, ordering by phone doesn't surprise.
WTF Trump is banning body armor and pistol braces next week???
If the pouch has the attachment...rod? Idk wtf to call it, built in, yes you're supposed to weave it. MALICE clips just go straight through.
I don't know about any rods, but I weaved it. The bottom snaps were a bitch to snap now... as if there weren't any room so I had to pull hard and snap it as best as I could. They snapped but the pouch doesn't budge and it doesn't seem to unsnap... for now. Maybe I did it right. It's a lot more secure now if I do say so myself.
>I don't know about any rods,
I just mean the stiff, long flap of fabric with the female snap.
>They snapped but the pouch doesn't budge and it doesn't seem to unsnap
You did it right.
any NA friends have any idea if its possible to get one of these canadian rangers enfield mag belts?
They are phasing out the enfields so i assumed they would start surplussing these belts. Id also take a new/repo one if companies sell them
>MALICE clips just go straight through.
no, you should be weaving malice clips too
Anyone have experience with AWS's PC?
Am I gonna make it through the boogaloo
I know its you at NOC east
nice airsoft
>Tfw too short to be sf
>putting the trainer knife in the photo
are you not allowed to have real knives because you are a felon?
I didn't think the let midgets in the army
Squad up or shut up POG's!
Knock it off guys I'm 6 foot the rifle is just a little long
Looks like my lollypop guild was deployed.
I love you anyway. That was the KDL, though
Was this before or after you killed those pack of wild dogs?
kek
So sunglasses are pretty operator.
Wherr you get them?
Why the hate on spiritus systems?
