I think his threats against Planned Parenthood got him in more hot water than a blanket statement about federal agents. You can make blanket statements about the feds and that's your right, but stuff involving specific locations/organizations is not taken lightly (nor should it be.)
If he brought attention so himself on something as dumb as ifunny then it must have been consistent posts with actionable information or claims. I think a big part of his trial will come down to if he bought any of the arms or ammunition himself and what his online searches were.
