Kinda related, my dad went through medical school in Memphis in the '80's and it was known that you would get a ton of experience with gunshot and stab wounds. If you were trying to be an ER surgeon back then it was the common thing to go to a school with a good "knife and gun club" (people gangbanging daily). He said a few times rival gangs would show up to the hospital to finish off someone they shot but he never once heard anyone admit who they had been shot by or the real reason why. It was always "I was reading my bible on my porch and dude shot me".
