Not really that bad if you leave out winter and forest combat teaining
i-is he okay?
99% chance he's sleeping
No
Is Finnish military known for being tough ?
it was fun desu
Fuck no :DDD only for mommy's little tittie cheeks
streamable.com
it's not that tough but the exercises can be though when you spend a week in the forest with 2-3 hours of sleep per day and physically hard work during the day all day long. but certainly any healthy male can complete the training easily
Our's is pretty tough. Think its a bit longer than most at 25 weeks but I'm not sure
would have much rather spent 4 years in the USMC or something, that shit was awful
Depends on the unit.
Usually it's not that bad, the training is pragmatically focused on the education and drilling, with most of the useless hazing bullshit cut out. Practical things, you know.
Manoeuvres, however, are often drawn-out and start to wear you down. As they should, when you think about it. War isn't usually some five minute videogame full of superhuman feats, but days and weeks on end of sustained operations under above-normal strain, with a handful of explosive and hectic moments of fuckery on the side. So it's smart to get your guys used to keep stuff running under such conditions on both a spiritual and physical level, likewise in the spheres of the personal and organizational, instead of having a crew full of noscoping tactical geniuses that lose their heads the first time a meal is late.
You have an army? I thought you didn't have a military and left that up to the English.
Wow that was the first time I heard that joke. Very smart
... It wasn't a joke, do people say that a lot?
What's your navy and airforce like?
Leaf here and I just did BMOQ. It wasn't as bad looking back honestly. The final field exercise test was rough though.
Any tips for BMQ/BMOQ? I'm really nervous primarily about the lack of sleep and havign to still perform under the conditions.
The lack of sleep isn't too bad since you get use to it very quick at the start of the course. They teach you a lot of stuff when you are sleep deprived and drill it into you so when you are tired on the field you can do everything from muscle memory. When we were on Vimy, everyone was on the ball even after about 3.5 days of no sleep. The adrenaline will keep you up since you are constantly under attack and getting shot at.
I remember for my BMQ we were bivouac'd pretty close to a BMOQ class, and early in the morning we were woken up to the sounds of the officers getting fucking arty sims thrown into their hooches and sleeping bags and being told to bug out. Shit was pretty funny to watch.
Isn't vimy only for reservists?
The thing that makes Basic training difficult now isnt that the training is hard. Its that the general population has become so weak physically and mentally. They quit so fast under mildly stressful situations its hard to keep a course running with any amount of training standards.
>Ireland
who are you training to fight? all those africans that have overrun your island?
the question always has to seperate between draft armies and voluntary armies
which one do you mean OP ?
>Never been in the Marines.
I agree, you should do it. Be sure to shave your head before you enlist that will give you a higher standing from the DIs for your commitment
The English of course. Or whatever shithole the UN sends them to occupy.
What is the plan to beat the RAF?
>please like me DIs
Fucking brown noser
airforce basically non existent, only serves the purpose of getting politicians around
navy is small but serves its intended purpose fine
>africans overrunning your island
you must mean chinese
What about paying for a large German naval base there? Adds to national security.
I thought I read that in Nepal (or somewhere like that) they don't do all the screaming and shit because boots don't take it seriously. They think it's funny apparently.
Also, don't the Dutch or the Belgians have a unionized military? As one who has had the displeasure of working with a union, I can only imagine how awful the discipline is.
Also this. They did a study somewhere that mens' average grip strength has gone down considerably since the 1980s.
Thank you for your serbis :DD
>He hasn't seen the Siege of Jadotville
>They did a study somewhere that mens' average grip strength has gone down considerably since the 1980s.
Not surprising given the fall in manual labour jobs worldwide, can be made up for pretty easily by going to the gym though.
Can't say i have.
It's Jow Forums's wet dream
we're talking Ireland.
> all those africans that have overrun your island?
WTF are you on about? We've barely any blacks compared to most places. We're like 98% white lmao
The air corps is pure shite. Government wont give them the funds to upgrade at all.
The Naval Service is fir for purpose though. They've been getting new ships the last few years but still need more
under 18 demographics says otherwise.
>We're like 98% white
If you ignore all the irishman sure.
Vimy is for officers.
Source on that there lad? There isn't a single African nation in our 14 LARGEST immigrant groups.
Honestly mate, I think you're falling for some bullshit you've seen online. I bet you think we have "no-go" areas run buy foreigners too
Funny
There could be an argument for an ASW air base in Ireland.
True but we're non-aligned (Despite most people thinking we're neutral)
The general public would never go for a foreign nation setting one up and we'd never get the money to build our own
You think the military is ded forever or do you see a change around the corner?
Honestly? I can't ever see us getting back on track. Our pay is depressing, our gear is starting to show its age and pretty much nobody cares.
I don't want some 100k man army with thousands of tanks and shit. I think sticking with a small, well trained and well equipped force is the best option for us.
Upgrade all of our gear, weapons and vehicles.
Upgrade our aircorps completely. Get like 2 squadrons of jet fighters, new helicopters and new AA weapons
The naval service just needs more ships
>Source on that there lad?
it's not bullshit. it's actual pictures of school classes like these:

its like living in a gym class nightmare for 9 weeks
pictures..... of..... school..... classes.....? this is your evidence (at all, but when talking to a native?)
yes, thats the best indicator. when average schools look like this, you know it's over.

What's it like not having a passport?
A total joke.
No, but Finns are known for crying about it and humblebragging as though it is.
>Irish military
Yeah real tough. Got to be in order to do another UN rotation of sitting around doing fuck all until surrendering to a couple Hezbollah guys in a hilux.
Why would he watch a bunch of potato niggers get there asses handed to them and then give up?
Woohoo a bunch of micks fought some niggers and frenchies and surrendered. How very impressive.
Do you have the budget for these things? I remember hearing Ireland's GDP was inflated and doesn't represent the governments true possible spending power.
That movie sucked ass.
Our platoon staff did that to us as well. During Pre-Vimy we were beside our sister platoon which is also BMOQ. So both camps were getting arty sim'd left and right. During morning stand-to we both camps got confused to which camp is getting arty'd. Luckily our staff didn't attack us at night because they were worried about us breaking our ankles and getting recoursed.
lol, they still charge you for the fucking haircut, and plus they 'threaten' to charge you for doing damage to government property.
