>sperging this hard

Why didn't they go with this? It seems like the smarter option seeing as how there looks to be more interchangeable parts with previous tanks compared to the T-14 Armata.

how well would the T-72 have fared against the M47 dragons and TOWs of NATO forces?

would it have driven on and crushed those fancy capitalist toys?
or would it have its armored advance blunted by such weapons?

What, your too sensitive for it?

In what scenario? Even Arab crews didn't prevent the tank from stomping on Israeli forces and "WWIII" is whole different thing of its own with all the kinds of proper combined arms operations.

Attached: t-72 original model (3).jpg (861x838, 794K)

stomping on the israelis would be a generous term, considering they lost more tanks than the israelis

most israeli tank losses were to ATGMs, but most arab tank losses were to tanks
so this is more of a case of what weapon in their arsenal was best against tanks

I'm talking about T-72 specifically. And even if you consider T-55 and t-62, they did perform good. T-72 in Arab hands curbstomped everything it met in combat until 1991.

Those are just weights for testing a new armor upgrade I think

Btw my bad, pictured are T-64, not T-72.

Attached: t-64ak.jpg (1645x1000, 1.01M)

The new armour for Abrams is supposed to be more weight efficient, not less. Same for wiring.

Attached: t-64bv & t-72b.jpg (1600x1067, 147K)

Does not change the fact that those plates are not armor. They are weights.

>I think
>the fact
If you say so, I don't really care for the joke's sake.

Gotta admit commie aesthetic game was on point

Money. There was also a new-built turret upgrade called Burlak for the T-72/T-90, that would've been the second line for the Black eagle had it been produced. Would've been a better decision.
It's probably two different people you're replying to.

T72 debut against israel is inconclusive

both sides claimed their equipment was better than the other, and most T72 losses were to helos and jets, not ground fire, so we cant really draw any conclusions about T72 facing missile armed infantry , at least against the israelis

The T-14 seems like the much more expensive choice though.

That's a Paki Al-Zarrar. Neat.

Object 187 was better than everything up to T-14.

Attached: object 187.jpg (687x509, 44K)

They really dont do themselves favors keeping the T80 in service.

T-80 is great.

>ukrainians
No such thing.

M47? Uh, poop on it.

The 1973 war could have easily lead to Syria reclaiming the Golan Heights had they actually pressed all the way forward to the other side and dug into defensible positions instead of waiting for the Israelis to do the same and then slaughter them.

That was before the T-72. So uh....

hmm, i just realised that the T-64 has that circle (im not sure what it is) in the left side and the T-72 has it on the right, anyway, thanks for correcting

>T-72 has it on the right
For the most part: very early T-72 had it on the same side as T-64, but the chances of you just randomly stumbling upon their pictures on the internet is minimal. Road wheels are some of the most distinctive differences too. Others include the engine exhaust and different set of equipment on the turret.

Attached: t-72b1 (2).jpg (3504x2336, 1.18M)

Here's an example of an early model T-72 in comparison with T-64A.

And here's their respective road wheels.

theres not much difference between them, probably hard to distinguish in a hypotetical WW3 (not that would matter a lot, since they got almost the same specs on paper)

So what was the idea behind adopting a MERDC-ripoff camo as the US was replacing it with 3-color CARC?

Attached: t-80_1991.jpg (1000x541, 173K)

Attached: T-64BV ukrain.jpg (1280x720, 148K)

how?

Not that rare suprisingly, Slavs love drifting tanks and if you go from slick concrete to soft dirt sideways they tend to roll.

pigs

kek that must be fun

I can't find it now but there is video of a T-72 completing a full rollover leaving it's turret behind.

Feel free to stop posting any time.

Kek no

T-80 is a fucking monster of a tank; literally the only issue it has apart from being a Soviet designed tank is that it got BTFO by a bunch of ginger muslims, which was more the fault of the command than the tanks.
