Hey Jow Forums, I’m at a buddy’s house and I’m fondling a Yugoslavian SKS. We’re having an issue with a jam. The bolt gets caught on this piece directly below it circled in pic related. I obviously don’t know shit about an SKS as I’m a HK niggerfaggot but I figured lots of people on here know about SKS’s and could at least help identify the problem with me. I’m in the process of pulling out a bolt that holds in the magwell because I believe that will allow the piece preventing the bolt from sliding and ejecting the jam. Plz help.

are you talking about the BHO device?
This is the screw I want to undo to release the magwell.
I want to release this bolt here. Inform me if I’m being a fucking idiot
unscrew it, it will release tension and the mag will come out.
You shouldn't need to unscrew that to release the magwell, go look up some youtube videos on sks disassembly before you do anything stupid
calls himself a HK fag and cant get a SKS to work, checks out, op provided he didnt fuck with it or put a gay plastic stock or mag on it she should run, all the broken ones ive fixed had aftermarket parts
That screw does nothing. Leave it be. It's just a stop so the receiver sits in the stock in the correct orientation.
Will the bolt carrier move at all?
Bolt carrier moves a solid 1/8 inch but gets caught and will not move.
bro just take a file to it and smack it around a few times
Like this or not as far?
>broken Yugo SKS thread
Not to ride on OP's coattails but I have a question.
My Yugo won't cycle on it's own, by hand it works fine but when firing it's effectively a straight-pull. My first thought was obviously the button on the gasblock for the GL but it was set to cycle (I tried it both ways in case I'm a retard and remembered wrong) and so I don't think that's it. The piston moves freely by hand too, and when cycling by hand it runs smoothly as well. The recoil spring is in good shape and as far as I can tell the little rod inside of it is working as intended too. I've tried it with different ammo as well (wolf, american eagle and S&B) because early on I thought I might have just gotten a bad batch of cartridge since wolf/tulammo is notoriously underloaded but that's not it either.
I'm at a total loss, does anyone have any ideas?
Meant for
Remove the trigger group (detent on rear) and pull the mag out.
You're a weak ass faggot if you can't cycle the bolt back on the SKS.
What state are you in?
What state are YOU in?
I'm not OP. I'm demonstrating what the bolt-to-carrier distance should be when the gun is unlocked. If it's actually "a good good 1/8th inch" then his bolt isn't unlocking properly.
NO.
5 seconds on youtube and you can learn how to disassemble this gun without fucking it up.
A state of self loathing
The issue is I can’t disassemble it. The bolt and bolt carrier are stuck.
Take a better picture and use a fucking flashlight
You have no idea what you're doing, that's why. That screw has nothing to do with magazine retention and everything to do with keeping the SKS from beating itself to death. That's the recoil lug and you don't wanna fuck with it
youtu.be
Watch this fucking video. There is not a single thing on this rifle you need a screwdriver for. You will NEVER take out the recoil lug.
>NEVER take out the recoil lug
Don't listen to this faggot. Believe in yourself. Drill the fucker out if need to.
It’s your gas valve. Take it out and clean it. See if it works after that. If it doesn’t, order a stainless steel version. Here is a link showing what I am talking about.

Here is a link of the part.

Usually when yugo sks does not cycle it’s because of that part. Enjoy.
-Comrade Tito
I know for the SKS there's also a small spring that tends to get lost since if you're fucking around with the rifle during take down it flies off through an oblivion gate
Thanks man! It was p. gunked up, got it soaking in bore cleaner rn and i just ordered a box of ammo (shot up the 7.62x39 stockpile dicking w/ a friends AK, didn't see the point of keeping it around with a non-functioning rifle). As soon as I get the cartridges I'll do a testfire.
I’m happy you got my message comrade. I own a Chinese, Russian, and two yugo’s. I love them all. The yugo’s are notorious for that. Enjoy your yugo.
Oh yeah, if you have problems putting the gas valve back in, google it and watch the videos. It can be put in incorrectly or not done right and will cause more gas to leak and not work right.
