Strictly speaking, piercings are allowed by Leviticus 19:28 as it only stipulates flesh cutting for funerary purposes. Also most of Leviticus is not directly contradicted by the New Testament.

I'm in the Bible belt and most of the Christians are just fudds. The younger guys are usually okay. My church is the only exception cause we all do two and three gun together, from 12 to 60. The guys older than that show up to watch but they can't move very well anymore. We all prepare for the Bugaloo and we wish we could deal with some local politicians but no one is willing to throw everything they have away for it. It's sad that so few people care about the fullness of the 2A. I hope it will change and I try my best to explain it to people that are new to guns or antigun. Sometimes it works.

So, by fulfilling the Law, which was made to remind us that our ever growing need is only in the Lord, we don't have to be bound by the Laws except those Jesus specifically says. I.E, the 10 commandments, keeping the sabbath (or the remembrance of his sacrifice by breaking the bread and drinking the wine). Therefore, tattoos and trivial bullshit rules is not needed as the real reason Jesus came was not to destroy the Law or even confirm it, but to fulfill the purpose it was set out for: Relationship with the Father.
