Looking at the price of build kits now, does it make feasible sense to build AK's now? It seems like you'd be better off buying Arsenals than spending money on the crazy kit and tool prices now.
Is it still affordable to build AK's?
AK’s are trash
Get a PSA CHF AR and spend rest on ammo
some of the lesser kits run in the $300 range, if you had the tools available to you already (and the skills) it could still be a worthwhile investment. Builds are a thing you can fuck up though, just look at /akg/
just buy a WASR if you want an AK that bad.
I have about 1k in tools for ak's but I've built 7 going on 10 in the next few weeks. It's more of a labor of love and the ability to fix any in depth problem I have on the platform that makes me keep building and buying tools
Budget gun of america these days is the AR, a PSA prebuilt is the way to go for beginners imo. They do a nice enough job and keep you from being confused for several hours (or days, depending on how mechanically inclined you are), and their builds aren't that much more than their kits.
you can cobble them together without all the tooling if you have to, but when you can slap an ar15 together for less than the cost of a cheap unbarreled ak kit it makes more sense to do an ar.
>Wasr
No one is that desperate
There is literally nothing wrong with the WASR.
> Builds are a thing you can fuck up though, just look at WGWS
fixed that 4 u
Okay faggot
you should build the cheapest possible AR and use it to kill yourself for being such an insolent faggot.
cringe opinion
I saw a Galil kit for 200$ and receiver for 90$
How much does a gunsmith charge?
for what ?
Anyone got any comments on Definitive Arms build services? I've heard Robski mention them a few times. Most recently he was talking about them in a video on suppressing AKs. I guess they have some kind of adjustable gas block? Looked pretty interesting, and I've been wanting to get a kit built ever since I realized getting a real Russian AK was going to be impossible.
If you are interested in a build check out a gunsmith website. I can't remember the exact name, but there is one called like "the gunsmith guild" or something. It has posts going back 10+ years on different builds. Some of the photos are no longer hosted online so you can't see what they did but there are 100s of AK builds on these websites and some are janky. I also saw a info thread about AK builds one time where a guy made an AK receiver out of a rusty shovel. I wish I had saved it. Honestly, if you aren't a meglotard you can build one with a cheap press from harbor freight (really buy all of your tools there).
I heard RH-10 build kits are relatively cheap. Personally I'm just going to wait until PSA works out all the kinks on their PSAK.
You need to buy a drill press and a 12-ton press, which will run you like $250-300, and a barrel press tool which is about another $100. You can make all the specialty riveting tools with the drill press, provided you aren't retarded, which will save you around $300-400. You could probably make the barrel press too, but you could end up fucking up your barrel or trunion. It's not cheap, but if you put in the effort it won't be much more expensive than buying a completed rifle, and depending on if being authentic matters to you, it's an oddball varient, or if you have a numbers matched kit, it might be worth it.
The only shop to get back to me with a quote wanted $600 to do it, so it's cheaper than paying someone, if you are willing to take the risk of fucking it up.
Lol
Wasrs are fine now you retard
>Walk into gunshop
>I want this.
>Drop a armful of gun parts onto the counter.
>How much?
