My Mav was my first gun, and I’ve put more into her in accessories than the purchase price of the gun, but now she’s just the way I like her. Parts include:

A Mossberg 500 action slide tube.
Magpul forend and SGA stock
OEM Buttpad adapter with Limbsaver buttpad
Snap-on fiber optic sight
Shoten Armory extended slide release
NDZ Performance high-viz magazine follower
Velcro attachment for Esstac shotgun card
GG&G light attachment rail
Swing swivel.

Now it’s comfy!

LGS had a marlin 1898 in what appeared to be riot configuration. don't know if it was original or not, it was a consignment gun, listed at 400 canuckbucks. however the seller reported it as unsafe to shoot. anyone have any experience with these guns? are they smokeless safe, even with low pressure target loads?

1898 riot?
Must have fudded it a couple decades later
But yes buy, like now.

embarrassing. You defeated the point of owning a maverick 88

I got a 1960’s 870 wingmaster 28 inch barrel. Used to have a CZ 712 but i traded it like a retard. I want to get that nickel pump on Atlantic at some point tho.

No I didn’t. I just have no desire to get rid of my firstguns that served me so well when I was a poorfag a few years ago. Now that I have money, I can upgrade her until she’s the way I like her.

for no reason I have been craving a 25-20 pump action rifle
pic unrelated

Would it be worth it to buy some cheap pieces of shit and do this?

Question for you guys: I have an 870 with a long ass hunting barrel that I want to replace with a shorter 18 inch barrel. Problem is, it’s for 2 3/4 shells and I can’t find any barrels shorter than 20-something inches unless they’re for 3 inch shells.

Is that some unwritten rule? Does no one make 18 inch barrels for 2 3/4 shells? Am I just the big ghey and missing something?

3" will cycle 2 3/4'' my dude

Attached: 1567005357140.jpg (800x581, 367K)

wouldnt a 3 inch be fine for 2 3/4?

Any quality GSC lewds out there like this? Love'm Rally and May here.

From what I’ve gathered, if I slap a barrel for 3 inch shells on it I’ll end up with extraction issues. For some reason, I can only find limited info on fudd forums though. I don’t know why it wouldn’t work though, it’s only shell length not diameter.

I’ve never heard that.

I've heard that too, but now I can't remember if it was 3" or 3.5" chambers that aren't compatible with 2 3/4" receivers.

Also, you can always chop the barrel and re-solder the bead.

forgot pic

Attached: 1359527650655.jpg (519x389, 43K)

its old
thats why nobody makes 2 3/4 only barrels now
your gun will physically fit a new 2 3/4 and 3 inch barrel.
however your receiver may not be able to handle the 3.
even when you swap out the barrel its a still a 2 3/4 only gun.
you can shoot as much 2 3/4 that you want.

sexy
take it from a nationals trap shooter, 3'' cycles 2 3/4''
or listen to fudds

I love me an SBS.
>tfw your faggoty state specifically prohibits them

>take it from a nationals trap shooter,
What do you have against traps, user?

Attached: traparpistol.jpg (4160x2340, 1.36M)

Yeah it’s odd. Reasoning it in my head, I could see why 3 inch shells wouldn’t clear since the ejector wouldn’t be long enough, but I don’t see why the barrel would magically make the 2 3/4 shells not clear.

Chopping is an option. I’d personally rather just buy a new barrel and be able to keep the original. Your pic is pretty much what I want for a shotty set up.

I just bought a model 12 with a cut down barrel. I was wondering if there is a place I could get a heat shield with the bayo lug and bayo without paying out the ass.

I love how you trannies always hide your faces because you’re ugly as fuck
Also you broke the law

Didn’t see this. Yeh, upon typing it I can’t think why it wouldn’t work. Thanks man, I’ll order one.

Guys, what do you think of the DP12? I like that it's small enough to stow in a backpack for hiking in the Bush so I dont spook some baggy MEC hikers, ect.

Attached: DP-12-Standard.jpg (848x477, 80K)

>but I don’t see why the barrel would magically make the 2 3/4 shells not clear.
its simple
not all 2 3/4 shells are the same, just cause of brands or how they crimp it
the more you shoot the more carbon built up.
you get a ring of crap in the chamber. then you shove in a different brand of ammo firing and bam it expanded all up into that carbon build up and is stuck hard.
same shit happens with .357/ .38 revolvers
if you only shoot .38 and its a significant amount of 38 .357 wont fit in that gun anymore. then you clean it and everythings fine.

Too big to fit in a bag to go camping.

Traps and trannies aren’t the same thing, user.

Get two sbs then

Boggie did you lose 300 pounds??

i love those sights. what kind of sights do you have on that? does it come with whatever model shotgun that is?

HHHHHHHHNNNNNGNNGGGGG HUH HUH HUH HHNNNNNNNNNNGG

Does it work?

midwayusa.com/product/1005517688/

These be them, they are great ghostring sights, front sight does need soldering

I believe some of the 590a1's come factory with them

Some 500s do too

Yeah you're right but not the lefty 500, it was no biggie, I mean its soldering a shotgun not tig welding a satellite

Fugg
Did I get fucked, anons? Or am I missing something

Hmm doubt you got fucked
You could always toss a rail on it and use a red dot
But I bet your looking everywhere but Remington

Says it takes dovetailed sights
Mine has... I believe, the pedestal bead?

You buy a new barrel or send the gun off to someone if you want sights.
Shotguns dont actually need sights and ghost rings slow you down.
People think they want sights cause they want their shotgun to be like a rifle. This is dumb its a shotgun.
What a shotgun really needs is a stock that fits the shooter but most are close enough one size fits all mediocrity.

Why wouldnt you want as much control as possible?

because shot spreads.
you dont need precision you just need a general idea.
>but user im only going to shoot slugs so i need that
why the fuck didnt you just buy a rifle then?

The shot spread myth
I'm tired and not gonna get into this
You can miss at 5 yards

>Remington 1740

you can hit a guy at 5 with a bead
that close you should be able to hit based of feel alone but not everyone practices.
if your telling me that a guy would have made a shot with ghostrings but would have missed with a bead thats straight up bullshit or the man has a fundamental misunderstanding of the bead.

past that point blank range shot does spread.
at the distances a ghostring would have actual benefits over a bead like 100 yards shotguns dont shoot that far. the shot will go that far but it will have spread by that point.

Got this during the week for $200. Wanted one all my life after seeing it in a catalog from 1965.

Here with my old Ithaca

Attached: IMG_20190827_134830.jpg (1984x1488, 432K)

Does there exist a heat shield for the mossberg shockwave?
Only ones I've seen online or in person are either
>need to be cut down to fit
>need to cut away a section of the front clamp to fit tube nut
>comes in a all one piece/multi piece set up that includes a side saddle/top rail/quad rail/other shit and costs >150$
Is there any heat shield that will work on the shockwave without needing to spend a fuck ton, get out a grinder, or make it awkwardly work via having it stick a good inch out past the barrel?

Which Ithaca 37 is that? Looking at a Deerslayer for gf.

It is 100% ghey. Get the ksg 12 instead. It's got the cool factor of a meme gun but it actually works and has a rather practical design considering how different it is.

It's from 1949 and came with a long bird barrel, I think. Previous owner tried to chop it to 20" with a hacksaw and made a mess of it. I bought the gun for $100 and sent the barrel out to be trimmed to 18.5" with a brass bead.

post yours.

you seem to be REALLY obsessed with this area of discussion

hes right the whole point of mav is its cheap.
swapping out the forend put you in buying range of a real 500 then you spent more money on it.
should have just bought a 500 to begin with.

There are cooler scatterguns, more expensive and effective, but vintage 870 wingmasters are top tier comfy.

Nice man.

Hey you found one! I remember you from a "dream guns" thread. Congrats man, I'm happy for you.

I did this exact thing with my 870 and it works fine. Just buy the fucking barrel and swap them at will. It will work fine.

Surprisingly no.

Hey guys, been a rifle guy all my life and finally got an old Stevens pump action 12 guage. I set a target out at 25y and put some 00 buck downrage, no choke. About less than half even hit paper the spread was so wide, right out of a video game. Is that normal?

Sounds wide to me, but it depends on what ammo you're using and the wad/cup type. Some buckshot spreads more than others.
Try some Federal FliteControl for the tightness.

The KSG is shit just like everything Keltec churns out, this thing is built to be tough according to the reviews I've read. I dont give a fuck about memes.

still waiting on my stamp brother
I don't know of anyone else who has done it.

Shut up you no guns. Two triggers, no machine gun. Possibly a sbs, but that can absolutely be legal.

Have you watched a single review? The fucking thing never works. It is 2bentire shotguns at once. The only advantage it has is you have to cycle the action half as much. You can't even shoot both barrels at the same time. It's big bulky heavy and ghey all the whey.

Have you seen any of the reviews? Everyone loves it, you must be confusing it with the jammkmatic UTS12. I really wanted to like the KSG and get a KS7 but after the reviews about both of them jamming and my sour experience with my Sub2k.

This us the defacto compact bullpup shotgun unless you can suggest another kne that's not trash.

That's a good looking gun

Just tired of mentally ill attention whores shitting up the board

So I got an original ithaca 37 stakeout from 1950 and I want to get a forward grip for it and a heat shield, does anyone know where I can get repros? I'm not paying almost a grand for an authentic heat shield.

I wanted to like it, I really did. But it's heavy af for a bullpup shotty by itself and a wide boi. Just get a ksg with a case deflector or a bullpup unlimited stock kit for a mossberg 590/ Remington 870.

What's a good price on an old 870 wingmaster?

In the new Chapelle show on Netflix he talks about how he loads his shotgun with 1 round birdshot, 1 round buck shot, 1 round bird shot, the rest buck shot.
