Is this the best option short of an actual silencer?

No, the a2 flash hider is the best muzzle device uf you don't have a suppressor.

solvent trap

this but unironically

That post wasn't ironic. Other muzzle devices that don't suppress flash or sound are retarded and pointless.

shoot a barret with no brake. but lol at people with brakes on 5.56

Just pony up the bucks for an actual suppressor, they're there re lots to choose from and prices have come down a lot over the last few years.

sorry for the stutter

Yes, I remember some forum post where a guy tested krinks on various ARs. They reduce heard noise at the ear by 10-15Dbs. Pretty much necessary for SBRs to control the excess muzzle blast.

>talking about ARs
>b-but Barrett
Retard.

Unless the muzzle devise is a compensator.

Wrong, compensators are stupid on 5.56 guns. Plastic lowers are stupid on ARs too.

Aren't $20 eBay clones just as good? Barking spider 2 is cheaper too.

Actually the J-comp is the proven best muzzle device.

my full auto fire dinner plate grouping disagrees

I was going to make fun, but yeah probably. Silencers on 556 is cool if your goal is not to go deaf when shooting indoors, so yeah, a blast can is a close second best.

wow...

>make your gun recoil more than it could otherwise because I think that's better
But why

best muzzle brake I ever had desu

That's a loudencer

based and tasteful

Anyone have a link? Silencers are illegal in this country so I'm looking for something else to help with earpro beyond basic plugs/muffs, even if it's just a small improvement. Couldn't find any actual measurements, but sparse subjective reports say some types are noticeably better than others.

Linear compensators are probably best if you can't have suppressors, and if you don't mind a bit of forward flash giving away your position.

Great for shooting next to your buddies. Good for indoor too.

Agreed. The one I posted in particular is best with the recoil as well. Running it on a 11.5" AR.

Less recoil is always better, regardless of how low it was to begin with.
