It's pretty good. Get one if you want.
Best 12gauge pump ever made is model 12 Winchester takedown.
Best new 12gsuge pump you can get is 590a1.
They gud
Sure but only with a 14" barrel and a shockwave grip
590A1 is better. All metal parts and I prefer the parkerized finish.
Not even gonna mention the bayonet lug?
Better than benelli m5?
any particular reason 590a1 is good? Only difference is aluminium trigger guard and thicker barrel. Cheap aluminium is pretty shit, I would rate it below polymer, and wtf do I need a heavy barrel on a pump for?
no, it has polymer parts that are brittle and can crack
They are heavy but the 590a1 is milspec and known as the pump that's issued to marines. Thst means it under gies the magnetic testing to make sure there's no micro cracks and it will hold up much better to abuse. An 870 express is likely to break, I've seen it multiple times shooting clay pigeons, extractors tec.. The new Winchester SXP's aren't bad necessarily but they're Turkish made and nowhere near as nicely made nor smooth as the American made ones they're based on. Mossberg is a good company and their rather aesthetic 590a1 is tough, has combat sights, not some lame bead, hss the tongue up out of the way for easier loading, has extra shell holders built into the stock, comes with good sling mounts and better mag tube cap, has a corrosion resistant finish and being a variant of the Mossberg 500, hss decent aftermarket for side saddles and stuff. It's very rugged, looks good and has lots of features.
The old model 12's were made like tanks as well, can be slam fired and have tear down that let's them store at half length. So, I think the model 12 is best pump ever but for new, no other pump is beating 590a1.
Semi-autos are a completely different topic.
I mean one like this.
>wtf do I need a heavy barrel on a pump for?
Supposedly it was requested by the navy incase soldiers bumped the gun into the steel walls of a ship. For a civilian it means extra weight at the front of the gun that helps with 12g recoil a small bit.
590A1
do it faggot
It's only worth mentioning the one time you stab a melon, shoot it off the end, and giggle
Love my 590 Special.
590a1 is superior.
why would you not
Just get a 500 and put the tacticool shit on it.
The 590 is more robust... on paper... but the 500 is solid as hell.
590 is meant to do two things: Satisfy arbitrary government contract requirements, and fool dipshits into thinking they're magical indestructible battleaxes so they waste money on them.
Don't be a sucker. Just get the 500.
I'm partial to older wingmaster 870s but people love their mossys. The remington can be made into a better shotgun but the mossy is a bit better out of the box.
>I'm partial to older wingmaster 870s
Please don't post things like this. The people here don't know the difference between a pre-93 Wingmaster and a new 870 Express. So, they'll go out and buy that shit thinking it's good and wonder why their pump action gun wont cycle or eject and why it's suddenly covered in rust.
I miss you, old Remington. ;_;
pre-93? I thought it was pre-06?
Get a benelli
93 marked the end of the DuPont years, and the beginning of the "investment firm" years.
In 93, Remington was bought by Claton, Dubilier and Rice, after which the QC went really downhill. Then, in 07, it was sold to Cerberus, who pretty much ate the scraps off the bones and gave us rusty 870's that don't work and the colossal goatfuck of the R51.
Looking at Remington now is like watching the last 20 feet of the Titanic bob above the waves while people around you talk about what a magnificent ship it was at one time, and writers write magazine articles about how excellent the food and service is aboard the Star Ocean Liners.
