Pic related is part of my stash. I'm an oldfag (36) So, I was lucky enough to catch the heyday of the surplus arms and ammunition wave. I still have the mail-order catalogs and Knob Creek memories to remind me of how good we had it back then.
But one lesson I learned over the years - things are generally never going to be cheaper than they are NOW! Particularly AR rifles and parts are dirt cheap at the moment. So, stock up NOW! My only regret in buying surplus arms and ammunition is that I didn't buy MORE. We always thought that things would keep flowing in and the tap would never dry up. We all know that's a different story now.
Here are the general rules I adhere to - minimum 2-3K rounds stashed PER rifle you own as well as 10 mags per rifle. Pistol I would suggest minimum 1K per and 6 mags minimum. Also, don't forget to stockpile cleaning supplies and spare parts that frequently get lost or wear out. It's also a good idea to print out physical paper manuals for all of the firearms you own. Youtube won't always be around if things get dicey.
A timestamp is needed with those claims. Not that I don't believe you have 22 cases of 7n6.
Jaxson Jones
Here you go!
And by "cases" do you mean tins? That's 12 crates and 24 tins of 7n6 ammo. The rest of the Soviet crates are 7.62x54r tins.
I'll admit I did get lucky with the 7n6 ammo. I never bought it when it was real cheap due to lack of a 5.45 rifle. But about 5 years ago I found a local guy on Armslist getting out of the caliber. I promptly negotiated him down to $320 per crate (2160 rounds) and bought all he had with my cash savings. I'll gladly take less than $0.15 per round for military issue ammo!
Another lesson learned - always have emergency cash on hand. You never know when those "once in a lifetime" deals may pop up. When they do, the first one to show up with cash in hand wins.
>tfw i got my 5.45 ar upper set up right before the banned 7n6
I still want to fuck that guy up for selling 74 pistols
Lincoln Nguyen
lost job. can't stockpile anymore. only have about 2000 rounds of green and 50 cheap stanags for ar-15s.

They would have found a way to justify the 7n6 ban regardless. Just look at what they tried with SS109 (M855)
What we really need(ed) was an uproar over the "ban by decree" like we had for M855. That would have lifted the ban quick. I was holding out hope for that import company that sued the Gov. They had millions of rounds on the water inbound to the states when the ban hit. But last I heard, they lost the lawsuit.
Regardless, 7n6 can still be had for $250 per tin or even less. You just gotta monitor the classifieds/forums and move quick. Anything under $0.25 per round is still worth it for 7n6 in my opinion.
BTW, what 5.45 upper did you get? I have 2 Huldra uppers myself.

post more pics of your stash , how many rounds do you have ?
The ATF will NEVER go after someone because they have a bunch of ammo. Link one instance of this ever happening. You're either a newfag or a paranoid fuckwit, stop posting either way.
Gabriel Cooper
>The ATF will never enforce the bumpstock ban! >The ATF would never arbitrarily reclassify semi-auto shotguns as machine guns and threaten to go door-to-door if people don't turn them in! >The ATF would never save 4473s as a defacto gun registry! Ok retard.
Aaron Fisher
Post the penal code on ammo hoarding. I'll give you all day.
Charles Robinson
not him but just because they haven't doesn't mean they won't, and i'd consider it very likely that the government is keeping at least a loose digital record of everyone's ammo purchases.

Sell me some 54r crates. I require more food for my mosin.

>minimum 2-3K rounds stashed PER rifle I bet you can't carry that when shit hits the fan.

Does anyone have the pic of the cargo ship with thousands of crates of slav ammo?
Oliver Ramirez
So nothing, good to know. Just say I'm right and we'll be done here.

that's such a meme why would he want to abandon a place that has supplies in the event of a societal emergency, like his house for instance?

there is literally no point to having that much ammo for """shtf"""

Because most of Jow Forums thinks the best thing to do in SHTF is go live in the woods with 1 backpack full of gear for the next several years until things cool off.

Dunno maybe its a contaminated area or unsafe to stay since groups of outlaws roam the streets. If you really think that your house will be a safe place you either have a life supply of Alex Jones water filter and 5cm thick steel plates on your doors/windows or you're delusion.
I never asked anyone else to post infos on their stock. I am merely trying to spread awareness of the need to stockpile (not just ammo)
Robert Martinez
Yeah, you never shot corrosive ammo before, have you? The spot you show will NOT rust due to corrosive ammo. It only spreads to the barrel, chamber, gas tube, and bolt face.
As mentioned, that spot is usually improper cleaning before painting or improper cleaning of the bluing salts if it's blued. But, go ahead and blame it on scary 7n6 ammo!
David Gutierrez
Did I overhype anything and tell everyone to run out and stockpile 7n6? I mentioned what I personally would consider a decent price for those who buy and shoot 7n6.
Don't like 7n6? Feel free to go out and buy whatever you shoot. I never said 7n6 or 5.45 is the be-all end-all ammo. The only reason I have so much is because it was the cheapest centerfire rifle round I have yet to come across.
Robert Cruz
>TFW 9K rounds of 54r >TFW still havn't touch a single orund of it because I'm still working through like 4 crates of 1940's ammo
feels good.
Liam Gutierrez
wrong. that's not how expanding gases work. Shill your boomer ammo harder. No one's falling for your grooming tactics.
Jackson Hall
Again, you have clearly never shot corrosive ammo before. I have and I have unfortunately left my rifle for days before cleaning it up. Never once have I seen a speck of corrosion rear of the front trunion that was due to corrosive ammo.
The AK platform ISN'T a direct impingement system. It doesn't piss it's exhaust all over the internals of your firearm like an AR platform. It's a piston driven system. Learn the difference and go out there and shoot! Educate yourself.
Regardless, I'm not shilling for any ammo nor am I advocating that you buy any particular ammo (corrosive or otherwise) Shoot what you like, just lay a good supply down.
Julian Bennett
Same here. I have yet to open a spam can of 7.62x54r I'm still burning through the 40's stuff that came in the unpainted tins that were soldered. I promptly repacked the ammo in USGI ammo cans cause those tins were always leaking air. I also have Bulgarian 50's brass cased ammo I am going through. Lots of split necks on the brittle brass. But, it seems to shoot fine.
Ayden Miller
ALL semis are filthy beasts. The shell being extracted will pull fouling into the receiver of any firearms, piston driven included.
Aiden Martinez
The can I'm on now is 1945, earliest stuff I've shot but some of the rounds hangfire which is scary as hell.
Elijah James
Because your lonely camp with only a fucking tent to protect you is so much safer.

My plan would be to pack a pickup truck with food and ammo and drive into the forest until I find a log cabin. Shoot the owner and only leave the forest for food or ammo to acquire but whatever faggot.
>My plan is contingent on fucking someone else over who is also just trying to live their life and escape the chaos of urban areas
Why don't you just do us all a favor by packing up that pickup truck, driving into the woods, and then shooting yourself. "People" like you with SHTF plans like this are the worst type of scum.

>minimum 2-3K rounds stashed PER rifle you own as well as 10 mags per rifle. Pistol I would suggest minimum 1K per and 6 mags minimum.
Eh, this depends on your goals and why you own firearms.
I used to be very gung-ho about surplus in the modern day until I actually shot guns like a Walther P1, various flavors of Warsaw Pact handgun (P64, PA-63, Makarov, CZ-82, Tokarev) - all of them kind of sucked and had shitty sights compared to even a police trade-in Glock's dead night sights. (That is, except for the CZ-82 - that gun still holds up really well in the modern day, imo. Even with the relatively weak cartridge, it's still a very comfortable gun to shoot - I'd trust it in self defense.)
If you shoot your collectible milsurp regularly, then yeah I'd say having a spare parts stash is good. But if you're preparing for boogaloo, I'd just have a stash of ARs/AKs and your favorite flavor of modern Wonder-9 (Glock, Beretta, etc.) - multiples of each, at least 10-20 magazines, and thousands of rounds of ammo.
Realistically though, unless we go full Planet of the Apes or Mad Max, even a few hundred rounds would probably be enough to get you through bad times.

based. also mid 30s boomer here, so refreshing to read a post on Jow Forums from someone with intelligence and class. everything you say is true, i usually never advise it here though because i want less competition and dont need a bunch of zoomers going apeshit on vendors who sell things im trying to stock
Jacob Brown
never say never. you dont know what a politicized commie ATF will do in 20435 under president AOC
Daniel Ramirez
do you even understand how ATF works? they dont need penal codes, they can make up bans on the fly without due process of legislation
if he goes to MG shoots or owns his own MGs im sure it wouldnt take long to blow through that. you could probably easily shoot a crate per range trip with an RPK and some drum mags and a truck full of buddies
Camden Morales
>that pic >have only 1% of it since money is tied up due to Dad getting dementia from medication and having to cover another whole household of bills and do the power of attorney thing to keep him from writing a check for his car payment every single fucking day fuck man. :( Its OK though I will do it because, you know, I'm a white man and care about his family
