Picking up another Yugo AK tomorrow along with a POSP 4x24. Should I replace the shepherds hook immediately or wait and see if it holds up before getting a plate?

People have problems with Shepard's hooks? Just put it in properly.
I usually trade for cheap broken jam o matic AKs because some fudd can't put the Shepard's hook back in properly.

On my NPAP I was having an issue with it as well as the pins. The pins were somewhat worn and would walk out maybe a mm or so before being stopped by the hook, but then the hook would let them walk out entirely. Grabbed some anti-rotation pins and a plate for like 18 bucks and haven't had an issue.
Hook and pins on the new one all look solid but wanted to see if anyone had experience.
