Finally join the SCAR club. Any DFW bros know a good place to go shoot it and sight it in? All the ranges I've called are super cucked or they want me to join their club.

Might try magnum in Sanger

texas ranges in a nutshell
Gibsons in Mesquite is pretty relaxed. Elm fork is shitty, but has a tac bay and and a 50 yard range that you can shoot whatever you want on.
Should've bout LMT
Go southeast of Dallas to a random field and lay waste!
not from that area but i imagine getting caught doing that is gonna get you in big trouble
seething
Key words “getting caught”
You should ensure those barrel support screws are torqued to spec before doing any sighting.
hey you do you but it's all private land so don't get mad if you get fucked over it
Ok poor
get sling
>buy 3000 dollar gun
>simple screws need to be torqued
>$3000 gun
>butt fucked by a $13/hr employee
Anytime you buy something with aftermarket accessories installed by a non-factory technician it's a smart idea to make sure they were done so properly. I wouldn't be providing this advice if other's hadn't already experienced issues related to the same.
>3000 dollar gun
>no QC
FN fags seething
Yeah, I wish I knew someone with land but I'm not fucking around on anyone's land without permission. Those dudes are just waiting for someone to trespass so they can light them up with their Barrett.
Thanks, how would I know they're not torqued to spec?
I'm going to get a KAC SR-15 before I go LMT. Already balls deep in MK18
>No QC
>Aftermarket
Are you retarded?
>factory quality control should be held responsible for what inbred gunstore monkeys do to their products after they've been shipped to retail
This is the lowest IQ post I've seen in a while, congrats.
>3000 dollar gun
>cant hold up to gun store employee
Lmao
What's with all the anger over the price of the gun? I dont understand
>Thanks, how would I know they're not torqued to spec?
Unfastening and re-torquing them yourself is the only real answer. If they were previously done so unevenly, under, or in excess of the 62 in/lbs requirement it could certainly cause barrel alignment and accuracy complications. It's really hard to trust anybody other than yourself with these matters.
Know anywhere I can get that torque set without spending $350 on the meme one from FN?
Alpine down around Rendon isn't terrible and they'll let you shoot that on the shorter ranges too.
Triple C out in Cresson is really good and has a 2000yd range too.
I've also heard that ETTS down in Maypearl is really good, and also has a longer (1000+ yds) range. I haven't been yet, but when I get some time I plan on paying them a visit for a carbine and pistol course.
You can buy the pre-calibrated BT-2L direct from Seekonk without having to purchase the entire Operator Tool Kit for inflated collector's prices. Though in practice pretty much any selectable torque wrench will do the job. Just make sure you follow the proper sequence and it shouldn't be any trouble. You'll find the entire procedure takes minimal time and effort, the ability to quickly remove the barrel makes cleaning the weapon exceedingly efficient as well.

Thanks, jusy ordered the 62 ft torque set.
62 inch***
Jesus that's fucking far away out in the sticks. I guess I'll wait till it cools off a bit for those ranges.
Well you didn't specify what part of DFW you're in, and considering the metro is roughly the same size as the state of Connecticut, you should probably be more specific about what area you're looking for. Alpine isn't terribly far off the beaten path, maybe 20 minutes off I20 if you get off in Kennedale. Their range ammo prices are too steep, and their range officers are pretty fudd, but otherwise not a terrible range and doesn't require any kind of membership.
Sorry, but I'm a south metro guy, so those are the ones I'm familiar with. I'm sure if you've got deep enough pockets and are a gun snob you can find one in Plano or Grapevine or Trophy Club that will make you feel more superior as a north metro operator
Elm Fork shooting range
I appreciate the suggestions. If you notice I said I wanted to go, I'll just wait until its cooler. What's with all that projection?
Ranges here are aids. Theres a beautiful grapevine range but they have the dumbest fucking fudd rules like "one shot every 3 seconds".
Elm Fork is the one with the retarded rules.
"NO – Full Metal Jacket, Steel Core, or Military Ammo on the 100 Yard RangeAll Rifles must be scoped. NO RED DOTS (3 power or greater)"
Unless you go to a range that doubles as a legit training facility, they're all going to have ammo and fire rate restrictions. Alpine is no FMJ and no more than 1 rd every 2 seconds (i think), but otherwise anything goes. You can go irons on the 100 range or 10x on the 25 range if you want.
I think the Winchester Gallery over in FTW does FA rentals and will allow rapid fire, but its also a tiny ass indoor range that will give you brutal tinnitus even with ear pro. I don't go there unless I know the place will be sort of empty.
Another suggestion would be to check out VX Marksmanship Academy. They're not a range, but they will let you go ham in a carbine course if that's what you really want to do. I've taken their carbine 1/2 classes and a shotgun 1 class and they are pretty legit programs. Easily worth the money.
that's the new winner for most retarded rifle range rules ever (that weren't fake)
>ACOG, uses 77gr Black Hills BTHP on gucci AR
checkmate FUDDs
show up with a red dot with a 3x flip magnifier behind it and watch their brains fucking melt
Usually Eagle Gun range is my go-to but it's only 30 yards. They also cucked my binary by putting a rope over my barrel which made it impossible to shoot because I'm not a manlet and the rope wouldn't let me fire standing.
>Allow 50 BMG on 100 yard range
>Draws the line at steel core
I never understood why they give a shit if someone mag dumps. If they're selling ammo it's better business for them.
yeah, my local range actually allows magdumps (as long as you're in control) and will permit up to .338 Lapua but M855 green-tip is a no-go
LOLWOT
I ordered some 62gr hollow-tip since the heavy stuff runs better with my twist rate than the XM193 NATO FMJ and as much as I'd rather run Black Hills all the time I can't really justify it
I'm sure it's just a technique to sell their ammo.
>tfw paying $1.25 per round of 5.56 at range
