PASTEBIN to be updated soon.(pls help frens) pastebin.com/hDuNBcSM (old) was too slow BREN 2 Status: we at 4 threads in row with bump limit. 1 more to go, surely we'll make it this time C308 are discouraged PTRs are in stock everywhere finally but the surplus mags are drying up Still looking for surplus Rhodie short shorts Discord link cianiggers.gov/index.html This is a thread for frens
The only people who really seem to be vocal about complaining about DSA are gunplumber shills. If you want a FAL, they're a solid option. If you just want a cheap battle rifle or you're too retarded to figure out an adjustable gas system, get a PTR.
Is there a lefty stock for the ptr that I'm just too retarded to find? I love the feel and shoot of the gun but I would love a better way to carry it than right-handed straps.
So I got my first ptr an as3 from Atlantic. But I got problems boys. Firstly I got the synthetic to metal LR replacement from HK parts, the trigger fits seemingly perfectly but won't seat on to the rear of the UR. Secondly I got a wood buttstock and handguard from numrich gun parts and that mofo doesn't seat all the way forward. The buffer looks different from my synthetic one but there are no screws to take it off and replace it. What do?
Ha anyone heard of someone cutting the top rail off of a PRR91 GIR? I got it for a pretty good deal in a partial trade locally (cz82+$450 for rifle, 3 mags, 80 rounds of MEN ammo) but fuck me, the rail on top kills me. I tried it with a scope and cheek riser, it sucked absolute donkey dick. I really like the irons and don’t want to put a dot on it either. The rail just throws the look of the entire gun off.
It looks like there are 4 small welds on either side of the rail holding it on. I’ve got some experience breaking similar welds when I demilled my sten Kit. Has anyone heard of this being done? Am I just a retard?
Charles Gonzalez
its possible. be a fucking careful cunt and go at it with a Dremel and file. you won't compromise the reciever kf you aren't stupid. though desu you're better off just selling or trading this rifle for one without a rail, because rip your finish, and most guys will gladly take one with a rail for ease of optics mounting.
William Perez
probably nothing. actually, maybe re-use your back plate parts from your old c308 wood stock. like the buffer and recoil spring tip. also, check if the reciever will allow the stock to "collapse" into it when pushed forward
Dylan Howard
>rip your finish The rifle was parkerized and I painted it. It came out too glossy though, so I’m going to strip it and repaint anyways
Andrew Morgan
What would be a Bush War period correct FAL upper? Imbel type 2?
Carter Walker
No I've really manhandled it to no result. I think I'll need to Dremel it but I was wondering if anyone had the same problem so I knew where to go with that
Sebastian Morris
>imbel >type 2
Grayson Martin
>He doesn't like girth It actually fills the hand unlike the needle dick fal handguards.
Get the an M16A2 stock adapter from blue force gear if you want it slung in the modern style of being able to shoot with the sling on. Or just use it as a carry strap like they used to and you don't need anything.
nope. goverments retarded. FN built an entire plant in Ameica to build the SCAR for civilians and military.
Grayson Rogers
government contracts* that was part of the deal.
Angel Myers
Is that factory finally putting out rifles? All the scars up until recently have been Belgian imports then
Lucas Phillips
actually idk. i know they mostly assembled here now. not sure how many of the parts are made here now

PAGING G3 OWNERS: Repeat from last thread. Do you really have to lock the bolt back before inserting a new magazine, or can you just swap mags and run the bolt? if its difficult to do with a full mag can you do it reliably with a downloaded one or is it just a shit show?
Cooper Bennett
yes you can swap mags on the fly without having to open the bolt first. Its easy. takes a few tines to get used to the mag. Have to slightly put it in foward then in. But its simple and after doing a couple times you can change mags as fast any other rifle.
BRfags, is a PTR a good first battle rifle? I’m looking at the A3R on Atlantic firearms. It’s either a PTR, or building an AR10, but I’m a big fan of the G3 aesthetic. I’d consider an FAL but I haven’t heard good things about DSA and I know nothing about building one.
Matthew Rogers
Yup, good starter
Carter King
Yup. The only real choices are PTR(900-1050) or M1A(1200-1350). Simple question of which aesthetic you prefer and what ammo you plan to plink with.
I really want a keltec rfb. Am I retarded? Not looking for purchase validation but warnings if there are legitimate mechanical issues

DSA is fine. The only people really vocal about them being bad are gunplumber shills. DSA has a wider variety of options than any other source for FALs and a decent amount of aftermarket support. The guns aren't collector-grade, but they're good shooters and overall decent guns.
That being said, I wouldn't recommend a FAL unless you want a FAL more than *just* a battle rifle. A FAL is going to be more expensive (both the gun and magazines) and less user-friendly. Ergonomics are excellent, but you're going to have to deal with the adjustable gas system and tune it to the ammo you're shooting, and magazines are expensive and finnicky depending on the source.
The general consensus for poorfag entry-level battle rifles seems to be PTRs. They're idiot-proof and will eat just about any ammo put in them.
William Richardson
Had one of the early rfb's that was a jam o matic. Super picky about magazines, and would usually jam regardless. I've heard the new ones are better, but it put me off of them. Buy a Scar 17 and don't look back
Elijah Evans
Aw yea anons. Briwaxed and polished the stock and handle yesterday. Its looking good. Cant believe how good of condition its in. Now that the wax is dry Im polish again tonight. Might add a little bit mahogany and darker briwax to the stock to balance out the color. still might strip it if doesnt turn out like i want but damn anons am I excited. My PTR is gonna look fancy.
I honestly dont know where the "SCAR is overrated and even SOCOM hates it" meme comes from. Legitimately the only two valid criticism ive seen are 1) Standard trigger is terrible considering the price 2) Reciprocating charging handle. The former can be fixed with $315 drop in and the later isnt a big deal as long as you're not retarded when handling it. Other than that the accuracy, weight, (relative) low recoil, and reliability are all top tier. It honestly an all around fun gun to shoot.
Liam Parker
It's because it's expensive and most of /brg/ can't afford one.
Joseph Jenkins
The Belgian import SCARs were brought into the US with a shitty plastic skeleton stock and an aluminum pin blocking the magazine well. The magazines are made in the US. The only thing that was done to the actual rifle in the US is milling away the magwell pin, removing the shipping stock, putting the regular one on. That was enough to get past import laws.
The US made SCARs from South Carolina started going out at the end of 2018. They have no leftover aluminum pin in the magwell, the rollmark is engraved slightly differently. And they should ship in a plastic case with foam instead of the cardboard box the Belgian ones came in.
Ah so thats why SCARs have been in stock everywhere lately.
Benjamin Reed
you named your gun Chelsea?
Jace Howard
I'm going to be coming into a fair bit of cash here in the near future and have nothing else to spend it on, so what gun should I buy? I don't want to be a complete guccifag, but I do want something good.
Joseph Foster
Do 30 round fal mags work?
Also, what optics do you guys run on your battle rifles?
Lucas Perry
Fn herstal FAL

CETME is cute. Cute!

TA11-308 on my Scar 17 and I think Im might get a Vortex strike eagle 1-8x24 for my GIR just because its on sale cheap and I dont have to worry about beating the hell out of hit. Eventually going to get a NX8 to through on my SCAR and use the TA-11 for whatever kind of AR-10 I buy or build.
Jaxson Baker
Bump for blasphemy, good bye wood hello overpriced plastic.
Does it help tho? I'm between the A4 stock and that one for my tractor gun up there.
Thomas Ramirez
Yes it really does. It definitely brings the recoil impulse more on-line/straight back into your shoulder and helps with the muzzle climb. Probably not as much as the few reviews out there say it does, but it helps. The downside aside from price is with the cheek piece on there's absolutely no way to use the irons anymore cause it puts you too high, but for me I really don't care about muh buis. I just love that I can get a proper cheek weld and better eye relief now without tweaking my neck all cockeyed and getting a strange half assed jawline-weld. Plus you can set the length of pull and the one thing I've never seen mentioned is that the spuhr buffer tube actually has more tightly space lock positions, so you get more minute adjustments over an AR buffer tube.

>order SA58 >wait "8-10" weeks for it to ship >will probably have FTF issues once it arrives >will probably have to send back for repair >another 6-8 weeks
