While I agree American planes are objectively better, do we really have to turn this into nationalist shitposting only 9 posts in?

Is that a gun and rocket pod under the wings? Why? This ain't no AC-130.

Don't forget the Mach 3 Fishbed.

Don't awaken armatard, this thread could still be civil.

Dude, not the thread for this.

It actually breaks the laws of physics to be able to go that fast, all their cigar jet series do.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Area_rule

It's like they said "fuck efficiency we want an aesthetic tube" and just threw a bigger engine in it.

I mean, the area rule is about minimising drag, which isn't a problem except in terms of heat build up if you just ADD. MORE. THRUST.

Also once you cross the trans-sonic the shockcone makes a lot of area-rule drag savings redundant, so as long the plane goes from zero to mach 3 without any time in between those two speeds it'll have excellent handling for something going either that fast or that slow.

Are those missiles welded underneath?

Don't tell me they're take-off assisting rakety

Good chance that he is keeping a low profile at the moment after learning how posters could still identify him while he was camouflaged as other posters. But dont worry, that cretin will be back sooner than anyone wants it to happen. Just let us enjoy the silence while it lasts.

Soulless.

I wish they had put it into production. Does anyone have any pictures of the crazy version with turrets on the front? It had radar guided guns on the nose in one version but I can never find any pictures.

Attached: e-166-07.jpg (1630x945, 234K)

Since i see it in that picture, can someone explain why the air inlets for the engine are seperated from the base hull of the plane in general on jets? On first thought a smoother transition should be more aredynamic.

I'm no aerodynamicist, but my understanding is that the airflow that sticks to the side of the fuselage can behave in odd ways and cause turbulence when entering the engine. The separation prevents any flow that's adhering to the skin of the aircraft from going into the intake.

If only they went up against the same time frame and better variants. For example the Mig-31 screwing up the F-15s record.

When it comes to looks, I like the MiG-19 and MiG-29.

Y'all might laugh, but,
One of my favorite russian planes is the IL- 62. Those engines and the dog-tooth leading edges are damn sexy.
The airplane wasn't that bad either.

What's there to laugh about, it's one of the best airliners ever created. Here, have a vid, I'm sure there are subtitles or at least autotranslation from Russian ones.

Khrushchev and his missile boner killed a lot of cool shit, a bunch of MiG high performance interceptors (the MiG-25 only made it because it met both a VVS and PVO requirement), and Tupolev's Mach 3 long range nuke-capable cruise missile.

When I was a kid I once had to pick between having this or Ka-50 as a Zvezda LLC model kit. Glad I didn't pick this vaporware, kek.

Yeah, it's a real shame they never funded Sukhoi T-4MS. Also my personal favourite, Bartini A-57. Possible a single most aesthetic bomber ever designed.

Whatchutalkinboutwillis it was great.

RMAF should bite the bullet and go all Russkies. Arm those Flankers with standoff AShMs to swarm against Chicom carriers.

I mean it looked cool, but the concept is simply a useless money dump. Now what is really sad is that Americans never funded their Mi-24.

I wish the Coanda effect had found more common use in high lift/STOL aircraft, I can understand why blowing superheated air over the wing can be painful for maintenance and safety though. Sort of like why making a ground effect aircraft for anything other than sheltered waters or plains is a bad idea despite being awesome

It'd be nice if they had done a little better at naming the S-67 Blackhawk and the S-70 Black Hawk. I almost called bullshit on your image title.

What the fuck is wrong with 23/27 pilot and low passes ?
One of the most popular low pass video is a 23 in Lybia, there's another one with an Ukrainian plane...

Wheels are down so it's probably just a take off over a near air strip road.

poland iirc

Early war Soviet planes sucked ass but they do look sweet with the white and red paint schemes.
