You may not like it, but this is what peak aircraft design looks like
You may not like it, but this is what peak aircraft design looks like
It was super duper sonic.
This is not an airplane, it's a three-ship formation.
objectively wrong
There was this dude that had all of these neat mash-up concept planes he created that I can’t find.
One was an F15-XB70 hybrid he made up and called the “Egret” if I remember right.
I wish I could find his page again.

*a challenger appears*
*cucks you out of relevance*
>Never ever
;-;
those engines are rad as fuck
It's nowhere near as aesthetic
It would’ve been a great plane if they completed it 5-10 years before it was introduced.
How can you have a hybrid of such drastically different size planes? That is like a Honda Civic semi truck hybrid.
This would have been so badass. But honestly ever since Iraq's military was defeated the Super Tucano would have worked just fine against sand people. It is silly sending jets worth many millions on missions against cavemen.
Nigga, North American called that the XF-108 Rapier.
Imagine, a two seat interceptor, powered by twin J-93 engines.
Super Tucan cost more then an F-16 per kilo of mail delivered when you add up the pilot, deployment, maintenance and support cost. There's literally no situation where it makes sense to send one instead of a drone.
Yeah, but it tickles the pickle of all the defense autists, so therefore it must be good.
Hi there.
Thats not Mig-21
skini
Not Egret
Mocking Bird
Nigger you are wrong. this machine was built for CAS. You cannot use a drone for that. Someone just wanted to save you a little money in taxes and this is what you say. Please report to your closest tall building to commit suicide.
>concorde
Masterful design, but the airframe was a terrible compromise so as to make an SSTO viable on shitty runways that were never meant for such aircraft.
Have some peak piston performance.
>Concorde
>SSTO
Wat? Super Sonic Trans Ocean? SSTO has always meant Single Stage To Orbit to me, the holy grail of spaceships, a completely 100% reusable spacecraft that doesn't shed any stages or parts and could just land and refuel like an airliner.
>Super Tucan cost more then an F-16 per kilo of mail delivered when you add up the pilot, deployment, maintenance and support cost.
i dont believe you
you're close
what about a a two seat interceptor, powered by twin J-58 engines?
the ameri-flanker
Bullshit
I think you meant to say the OV-10 Bronco
Not quite
Why does the Valkyrie make my pp feel funny guys
And here I thought the F-15 was best girl. That makes me feel funny all over.
look at all the seething coping spreytards responding.
>literally riding its own supersonic shockwave
absolute chad of an aircraft
*fortunate son intensifies*
Imagine a bomber variant of the concorde.
Fug.
Gotchu senpai
Sr71?
What advantage does the Super Tucano have over an attack helicopter like the apache? Carry more ammunition and different types of armament?
Part of the cost cutting was overhaul and ASB level stuff being provided by L3 and the line unit work by local units. . . Also the per kilo comparison vs per fire mission and stand by + on target time windows is kinda apples to oranges when you look at the differences in payload and the kind of down time using a jet for cas would bring.
Maintenance mostly, speed isn't relevant if theres a large enough fleet and time on target is close enough.
because she's a big guy
It's cheaper
Almost the perfect aircraft, trust Labour to fuck it up.
The A-5 Vigilante was ultimately the production result of the Valkyrie/Rapier program. A gorgeous plane that only ever got operationally used for recon
You goddamn retard.
>lenticular
>Mach 7
The self-defense missiles it would have carried were dope as fuck
The boeing design was shit compared to the Lockheed design.
GOD MY DICK IS HARD I LOVE THE FUCKIN STARFIGHTER HRGNGNGNG
Even if this was true, which I don't believe, turbo props have a soul. I rather have a something with a soul delivering death at my enemies then some skynet piece of robotshit.
Dumb idea. Swing wings created so much internal mechanism that there was no room left for actual passengers.
hello fellow Wingman poster
>You may not like it
But I do like it.
Seriously underrated aircraft; shame someone overlooked the world's greatest nuke pooper
Kinda looks like someone stretched an F4 longways.
Fuck off, you ruined everything!!
Ah, the yf-12. Just a mental idea by today's standards
You will never fly an F-16XL in a post apocalyptic US wasteland that’s been Balkanized by Soviets, Nazis, and Imperial japan using antiquated technology
>tfw u will never land a heavily modified harrier jumpjet on the back of a heavily armored and armed train trying to pierce through the wasteland of the midwest which was bankrolled almost entirely by outgaming the st louis mob by betting straight gold bullion on the outcomes of rounds of the 365 day a year 24 hour a day unlimited substitution football game which became the center of the city and use the surplus funds to turn two C5 galaxies into sister gunships, one with nearly a dozen GAU-8s and the other with literally anything anybody found laying around at the time
>tfw you will never have an intentionally climactic hollywood showdown with another heavily armored train because the villain who's trying to stop you is a film freak who's filming the entire battle and has intentionally placed various setpieces along a stretch of track you have to use
>here's your F-86 sir
Reminds me of Nazi jets on Man in the High Castle
This plane was aesthetic as fuck and I swear I'm not saying this because I'm French.
Fucking cuckolds always have to ruin everything.
>f22
>not incredibly aesthetic
Another fucktard who has no idea what CAS means
A plane that has been out of production for decades. US government had two Broncos that were in good enough condition to be modernized, both were from NASA inventory. Planes previously operated by contractors for state department in support of DEA's war on drugs and ATF's war on dogs. NASA mostly used those as chase planes for low speed unmanned test aircraft. California department of forestry has bunch of Broncos to direct aerial firefighting, but all of those were too worn out of be modernized.
Purchase cost, operational costs, payload, payload flexibility, loiter time and speed. Super Tucano uses one engine that is similar to engines on Apache, it is about twice as fast as Apache, it can carry about twice the payload and it can stay over combat area longer. Fixed wing aircraft are simply more efficient than helicopters when it comes flying.
That isn't any Starfighter, it is the Starfighter involved in mid-air collision with XB-70.
