This stuff 10mm ammo clocks 2600 fps out of 6 inch revolver and 2800-2850 fps out of an 8 inch 10mm ar.
Why isnt is considered hands down the best defensive ammo possible? Combine it with a 10mm high point and your will break 3000 fps.
This 10mm ammo leaves the moat devestaing damage i have ever seen to hogs. It honestly looks like a 50 bmg hit it.
Im surprised i am just learning about it. Out of a 8 inch barrel you getting better preformance than a 16 inch ar with less recoil and much better wounding close range.
Ah yes that's why 17hmr is the end all be all of killshot rounds. Velocity is nothing without some heft.
>inb4 micrometeorites. Hypersonic speeds excluded
Nathan Johnson
Heft and hypersonic. The 1996XF11 has you covered. Do to arrive on store shelves in 2034 after a trial run in 2029.
William Brown
>civil defense >good
No.
Luke Diaz
honestly every ammo has varying levels of efficacy depending on the caliber and gun it's being fired from
HST: sometimes good Sig: mostly good Hornady Critical Defense: usually good
ah fuck it, I'll just use Remington green and white box SJHP
Ian Cook
Make a boat tail version that's decent for hollow points and you're looking at a .223. except you can't fit a boat tail long enough to stay 10mm and maintain the weight, and in doing so, you lose the velocity. >Nope.
>boat tail >self defense load You worried about ballistic coefficient at ranges of 5 to 30 feet?
Austin Morales
A 10mm wide slug going 3000fps is going to do much more damage than a .223 cal going the same speed. That 10mm slug will explode. Within 50 yards that 10mm slug will prob do as much damage as a 3006
Kayden Nelson
> A 60gr .40" bullet is going to do much more damage than a 62gr .223" bullet going the same speed. > Within 50y that 60gr .40" bullet will prob do as much damage as a 165gr .30" bullet going 2800fps
Jeremiah Sanders
See Unless you posted it >My reasoning for At 60 grains it's going to disintegrate being a very light and relatively small bullet traveling very fast for its size. It's not going to open up into a beautiful lead flower, it's just gonna smack it's target. No penetration, not expansion, might as well be a RIP round. I could be wrong, but I'm fairly certain that I'm not. I would love for there to be a fantastic new self defense round that's commercially available if you think it's a viable option. But I would disagree.
Brandon Anderson
I think the base of these tends to penetrate very well. The hp petals open up early in gel, causing a large twc, then split off and the base continues forward. Penetration of the bases has been consistent between different youtubers shooting gel. Same principle as lehigh defenses "h.e.r.o." 9mm, although that is a 70grn bullet, with a heavier base, and lower velocity as a result.
I decided to try them out after watching paul harrels video on the 9mm. They chrono'd faster than claimed from subcompact barrel lengths, did noteable damage to his meat targets, shot well. I trust the meat target over ballistics gel. My lgs sells the stuff at a loss, so I've picked up enough 9mm to shoot a few hundred through each of my carry funs.
I'd have no issue carrying a g29 loaded with it, for two legged game, if it came down to it. I'm not married to the idea that centimeter "has" to be loaded a certain way in order to perform. Or any other round, for that matter. Lehigh defense breathed new life into this area, carrying on ideas from rounds going back to the 60s/70s/80s and marrying them with inproved machining and ballistics testing.
>without some heft These are nearly the exact same ballistics as what an M4 does but with MUCH better energy transfer.
Cooper Hughes
You know what round has the best energy transfer? Ratshot. This has to be bait because no one can really be this much of a brainlet.
Christian Sanders
.22 rat shot would be a fantastic round against people if it didn't have non-existent muzzle energy and poor range. M193, on the other hand, is very good at killing people and has the exact same amount of energy as this 10mm ammo but the 10mm is wider and will fragment more violently. Your absolutist opinions are stupid and you should feel stupid.
Zachary Hall
3.5" 12 gauge steel birdshot has way more muzzle energy and it dumps that energy even faster than 5.56. It must be the deadliest round ever.
Gabriel Walker
I fail to see your point here. Your examples include things that fire multiple projectiles which collectively hit the same as 10-100 shots with a bb gun. You're being disingenuous when you actually need to try to make an argument because you're starting to actually look stupid.
Nicholas Mitchell
Close range birdshot is actually extremely lethal tho.
James Carter
Am I detecting a pattern here? Is Belgium is fantastic and innovative? The scar, the p90, the 5.7, and now this. It's honestly impressive.
