My carry gun is chambered in it.
If I was going to make a blowback semi 22lr pistol, what strength/length spring would I need. Don't know how springs are rated. I don't own a 22 anything.

its cute
nice fanfic
Isn't fanfic, but believe what you want.
You should worry more about bolt weight. The spring weight is whatever runs the action without malfunctions.
Anyone else have a PPK/S 22? What ammo you feeding her for suppressor use?
i remember going off in the woods with my cousin with a .22 ruger and our pockets full of loose bullets that we grabbed handfulls of and just shooting at cans and pine cones and snakes and sticks and wasp nests or random shit floating in the creek and whatever the fuck else we came across that needed destroying. also a few packs of firecrackers and a lighter to take out any anthills. i love me some .22
Who here precision .22lr
>.22lr
A good round for plinking, practice, small varmint control, and if push comes to shove, can be pressed into service as a defensive round if nothing else is available. Everyone should have a .22 rifle.
Can someone redpill me on this road? I’ve shot it once and it felt like a BB gun so I’ve always assumed it’s just a bitch round for plinking or beginners but I have read some nonsense about its velocity being high which somehow means it’s going to bounce around in a body and be more damaging? I don’t see the appeal. Just shoot 9mm
>velocity being high which somehow means it’s going to bounce around in a body and be more damaging
this is such a meme and it's sad that in 2020-3 months I still have to address it
22 lr is a great plinking round and extremely quiet when suppressed due to its low velocity, small bullet and light powder charge. That's it. It's very very cheap.
Pop a skull with 22 and it's an instakill. Pop a gut, instakill.
Has infinite stopping power because once that round enters, it will bounce around and not come out.
>it’s going to bounce around in a body and be more damaging
>I’ve shot it once and it felt like a BB gun so I’ve always assumed it’s just a bitch round for plinking or beginners
Some of the most fun with guns I've ever had were a couple of friends and we all had Ruger 10/22s and a brick of ammo apiece down at the town dump. To this day, I still shoot my 10/22 as often as I shoot any other gun, and I have .22s, .22lr, 5.56, 9mm, .38 &.357, .45acp, .454 casull, .50 cal, .308, 30.06, 12 gauge, and some other shit, too. If you don't like .22lr, you're not doing it right.
>It's very very cheap.
It can be very very cheap. It can also be very very expensive when you start getting into match grade ammunition, barrels, triggers, etc
user talking about weight nailed it. Of course you need to tune your spring to match your cycling weight, but that's more about how snappy the return of that weight is for getting the next round chambered cleanly. Of course there can in some actions be a role for the spring in ejection. I've got an old French .22lr pistol which cycles with everything hotter than about 950fps/40gr loads, but something like CCI Quiet 710fps stuff won't reliably cycle it. Sometimes, but more often not. But if I put a slightly lighter, slightly shorter spring in it, that old Quiet cycles flawlessly. I don't like swapping springs to make both work, so I'm glad there's the new CCI Quiet Semi-Auto 835fps/45gr stuff. Works like a dream. Not quite as quiet as the old Quiet, but close, and it's handy being able to shoot whatever I want out of the same configuration in the pistol.
.22 WMR > .22 LR
Prove me wrong. Protip: you can't.
.17hmr > .22lr > .22wmr
There's limited precision in 22lr because of the nature of rimfire cartridges. They just ain't match grade.
I need a .22 pistol that has
>threaded barrel
>magazine fed
>easy enough to convert to manual action
Suggestions?
depends on application

Sure user, sure.....

My dick
Ruger MK and just put your thumb on the charging handle.
Yes they are, you'll be spending centerfire prices. How do you think Olympic shooters get ammo
10/22 charger.

we should disband the olympic biathlon team now.
It will fragment IF it hits bone. I'd honestly rather gave a 9mm or better but if all you have or can carry is a .22 then it's better than nothing. Other than that, it's mostly just a fun round to fuck around with and makes a pretty good varmit/small game getter.
>I bought a bucket of remshit .22 and got groups that look like a shotgun pattern, therefore .22LR cannot be precise.
Weird how Olympic shooters can get 1/4 MOA groups. Must be luck or something.
fun in snappy little pistols
At this point just get 22wmr or 17 hmr
>10/22
>precision
no other cartridge has the destructive power of the .22lr. In addition to transferring 100% of it's weight it tumbles around inside the target and turns basically turns it to mush.
If you want to waste money get a Ruger Mark II or Mark III and the TBA bolt lock. Otherwise get a Mark IV and put your thumb over the bolt. It's easier and more practical with the Ruger Mark IV than with a Ruger Charger.
>turns basically turns
prease ignole extla tuln
Nice negative mindset. Your life must be shit, be positive homeboy.
Ive been reading on the 22lr and its amazing how many people underestimate the destructive power of this cartridge. That shit can cause lethal wounds up to 450 yards. It will penetrate/break your ribs and fuck your shit up.
Just got a Pheonix Arms hp22. Havent shot ot yet tho.
I have as much or more confidence in my Keltecs as any other gun for the weight.
>shoots bulk box russian steel case .308 out of a .308 AK

dummy.
>.22lr
Suppressed; It's best.
.22 WMR is definitely a better self-defense round if you want to carry a .22
