>*crickets chirping*

I've never really been super interested in bullpups. Which would be a good choice for a first bullpup? No special considerations.

aug a3m1 w/ corvus rail in conjunction with an ACOG.

RDB is looking promising because of the price and bottom eject.
Tavors can be had for sane money if you look around used.
AUG is patrician choice but expensive, as are most BPs, we're talking about 2k+.
K&M is making improved Bushmaster M17s which look promising to me. It's also the only battle rifle option other than the RFB.

Thanks user. I'll check them out when I get home from work

RDB is by far the cheapest and is actually of good quality/ergonomics. You can get one with a 20 inch barrel and it’s still stupid short. My LGS has 3 in stock and I handled them. Surprisingly sturdy feeling, but I would recommend loctite on all screws.

Steyr AUG is probably the overall best but is also the most expensive and takes proprietary mags (they’re great mags tho). It’s the most successful military bull pup in the world.

please stop shooting bandit bros

which ACOG to get? For AUG.

you're a faggot for not including Best Bullpup, aka PS90.

This picture again.. Yawn.

YOUR DADDY MUST BE LOADED

Just got mine today. Loving it already.

I had a blast with this on Saturday, and the shell deflector meant my lefty bro was able to shoot it comfortably too

Attached: P1020350~2.jpg (3673x2081, 1.73M)

I'd really like one for my first rifle, but I'm on a bit of a budget and the RFB is just so STUPID with how it ejects casings. why couldn't PSA try making AUG clones instead of AKM clones...
AR domination is too strong

What's the best .308 pullpip?

Anything new on the horizon? I was thinking of getting the m17s but feel like I'd regret it if a .308 RDB comes out.

Have a 20 inch rdb-c I picked up for 800 and I love it

I used to dismiss BPs in general for that sort of thing due to not wanting a 1500 dollar gun ending up in evidence lock up indefinitely but then i realized that after optic and light i pretty much have that much in any long gun id care to use for the task anyways. Which is the better rifle for range use and HD, Tavor or AUG?

AUG

Tavor 7 is gonna be out some time in the nearish future iirc.

Yo you telling me I can use stanag's?

Hell yeah FS friend

Attached: vobU9gN.jpg (3024x4032, 1.16M)

With a NATO stock, yes.

My Longboi AUG, even managed to find an OG Steyr Brass-catcher for it which doubles as a shell deflector if you take the bag assembly off.

Attached: Long-Aug.jpg (5184x3456, 3.23M)

Noice!

Try the RDB. 556 and cheaper overall, uses STANAGs

Damn. Dat bipod tho.
Doesn’t Steyr still sell the brass catcher on the website?

I’m actually jealous of you guys. The FS2000 CQB looks really cool but is essentially gone for good.

They've been out of stock for a while, not sure when they'll get more in.
This one actually came from PJ who runs a website that sells a ton of factory Steyr parts.
It's apparently the last one he had in stock.

>a child

That’ll change. May massacre my wallet for an AUG or RFB when my pay raise comes. Definitely one of the two

I would, but I want to do more with it than tickling paper at a range, I have a lot of people in my extended friend circles that hunt, plus I just like DMR's and battle rifles more, PLUS in the event shtf I'll take effective range over caliber commonality.
Im in your exact position but I've got a move and some training to pay for first. we're all gonna make it

I agree with above user. My 20" RDB has an overall length of 30.5" that's shorter than a 16 inch AR by about 6 inches. Its trigger is good, its got the HK slap charging handle.
IT IS NOT PERFECT
gas block is attached to top rail, which conducts heat extremely well, and gets very hot. The firing pins are prone to breaking. (you can get replacements for 10 bucks)
Otherwise, wonderful rifle, I love mine and it shoots good. Light too.

Attached: RDB Balance.jpg (4032x3024, 2.76M)

Which one though? I like how both handle and look. AUG will be significantly more expensive up front due to mods but cheaper to shoot

probably the RFB, despite that silly as shit front ejection port that looks like it would clog with the smallest amount of grit.

They're out there on the used market. I paid just under 2k for mine and it was basically brand new. The aluminum forward is really the hard part to find.

>Tavor
Oh cool I love wasting multiple thousands of shekels on garbage.

I'm in the same boat user. I'm thinking either TA-31 ACSS Aurora or TA44 1.5x16. I have to look up that 3x24 since you posted that chart.

It hurts my soul that these are discontinued.

> Tfw the gun that is used to defend your nation for decades is unobtainable.

Fuck I want a styer so bad. The new F88 is really nice to hold, great style and robust.

Ah well, back to my bolt actions I go....

How much play is there on the bottom rail there? Is it rock solid enough for an IR laser?

There's no play at all and it was well designed, but I haven't had the chance to really put it through any rigorous use. I'd just put it on the top rail if you can use the 35 slot A3 rail.

I have the 35 slot rail but its good to know the lower one is solid too because DBALs sit high and ACOGs in that channel on the rear of the 35 slot rail makes ACOGs sit low

Can someone redpill me on the aug? I've wanted one since I was a kid, I've heard mixed things pertaining to reliability but it's all been anecdote, and obviously the trigger won't be amazing. Is there anything else I should know? Opinions on how it would stack up in a class?

The only reliability issues I've heard of are anecdotal ones where the users rifle has trouble with under powered steel case ammo but those same users always say that the gun runs one hundred percent with brass. The standard trigger is fine but mine was used so it was already broken in. There are after market fixes for the trigger anyway. The only thing to know is that the overwhelming number of AUG users recommend using the standard rifle with AUG pattern waffle mags and to avoid the NATO stock version.

Fantastically comfy, mine's been dead nuts reliable, and the trigger is probably the best stock bullpup trigger I've shot. Clean 7 pounds, crisp break.
I can't find a thing wrong with this rifle other than you have to add your own attachment space, stock mag catch requires a lot of travel to release, stock charging handle is a little tough to lock back if you have accessories mounted right above it, and it's a bullpup if you're not into those.

I have both stocks cause the only A3 SA I could find had the NATO - definitely get an AUG mag stock, so much nicer. the NATO is good to have on hand too if I accidentally drive over all my AUG mags with a truck, I guess.

People bitch about the trigger of the semi auto versions, because with the full auto one the trigger only needs to be depressed half way to fire one round, and pulled back all the way for full auto. With the semi auto it has to be pulled back all the way for one shot. There are trigger kits to fix this though.

I personally don't like the open handguard. It's designed for wearing heavy gloves or mittens, but I just don't like it. I also don't like that it's not ambidextrous. The RDB is a massive update to it imo, and way cheaper.

Yeah but why would you want to?

Kept it as it would be issued in Israel. Have to store it in AZ with my grandparents because of commiefornia rules

Attached: 20160323_173522.jpg (5312x2988, 2M)

The 7 is apparently not garbage but just wait for opinions to come in. The real shekels is in not making a 5.56 variant of it until all the shekels there is to make on the original have been made.

FUCK BULLSHIT PUPFUCKERY GUNS ALL OF YOU ARE DISGUSTING FETISHIZED FAGGOTS!!!

Damn right bro. We’re all gonna make it.

Nobody was more blueballed than I when Lithgow announced they were cancelling imports of the Atrax...

HNNNNGGG

Is that an M1? Also, how was installing the Corvus rail mod for the grip?

I feel you frend.

Nope, A3 SA - and easy, you just pry up the bottom of the grip, unhook the spring, then lightly tap the roll pin. Install the rail using the roll pin and level it with the mount screws and you're good to go.

depending on the AUG it is less than 2k. classic used to sell an A3(thats where i got mine) for like 1,800 i think? The mag that comes with it was fucked but good to go otherwise.

Gotcha - I'd say that'd it'd easily be stable enough, I just don't want to give you opinions without testing it first.

the nato stock lets you, but you lose the ability to make it left handed friendly and the external bolt hold open/release. Stuck with only using the charging handle with NATO stock

NATO stock also removes one of the two trigger transfer bars and makes the trigger even worse

Ive never had any issues with mine in terms of ammo, but i dont shoot steel case. At least for mine when inserting the mags it helps to pull it towards you a little bit to make sure it seats properly. Its fun to shoot, but a little bit louder felling than a AR because its close to you. The reason im looking to sell mine is just that at the end of the day, it feels like shooting an AR with a meh trigger and cool looks. Good gun

its not hard to make an AUG ambi, you just need to buy a left handed bolt. everything else is just using your trigger hand to manipulate stuff.

even more reason why the NATO stock is disgusting lol

i'm jelly
i wish they sold the long barrels again

>The thing with guns like the AUG is that you can't do anything about the ejection port shooting brass in your face
Uhh yeah there is

doesnt the brass deflector that they sell for the AUG ambi 24/7? and its not too hard just to switch the bolts out man.

Changing the charging handle to the other side isn't making it ambi... that's making it left handed. Ambi means all side friendly all the time, for transitioning to other sided shooting. The thing with guns like the AUG is that you can't do anything about the ejection port shooting brass in your face. The only gun where you can keep a traditional side ejecting port AND it's ambi is the g3. Yet the only people who have ever made a bullpup g3 design were the Iranians so we're not seeing those being imported any time soon. Some company needs to make a bullpup g3 kit. Until then I'm stuck waiting on a GOOD ambi .308 bullpup. Truth is we'll probably not see anything military grade until FN pulls its head out of its ass and starts making bullpups again, but they're at capacity pumping out ARs since they got the US mil contract.

also what do you mean changing the charging handle, it stays on the same side you just use your opposite hand for it

Like what?

Yeah let me switch the bolt out mid transition when switching to left handed shooting. Guns are for gunfights, not the comfort of a fucking range. Like I said by ambi I mean full time ambi, otherwise it's no help.

Ok, then that Corvus brass deflector i mentioned retard.

My trigger keeps not resetting. Any problems for you?

Like buy an easily available left hand bolt and pop out the left side port cover and flip it to the right side? Or for when you need to swap shoulders in the moment just use your support hand as a brass deflector?

Get Karl’s cock out of your mouth.

I assumed by changing the bolt you meant changing the side of the charging handle as well, but I see that it actually changes the side that it ejects. That doesn't make it ambi, that makes it left handed. Ambi would be like the RDB or FS2000 where ejection isn't a concern no matter what side you shoulder on.

>just use your support hand as a brass deflector?
And shoot one handed? And cause a jam if your hand goes slightly off and covers the port? Dumb. You could just get an RDB for half the price and double the practicality.

nigger you keep ignoring this, but there is a brass deflector for the fucking AUG you can buy. Thats like the third time you have read everything i have said EXCEPT that.

AUG is love

Guns needing to be ambi all the time is a meme. You’re not swapping shoulders all the time, and when you occasionally do you can deal with the gun being slightly less ergonomic than usual.

>And shoot one handed?
No, just have your support hand stabilizing it from the rear. If you need more stabilization for the minuscule chance that you need to swap shoulders you can just kiss brass, it doesn’t hurt and isn’t an issue.
>And cause a jam if your hand goes slightly off and covers the port?
Literally does not happen.

Nice! Follow-up question: where’d you get a tan stock for the SA? I thought they only came in black?

did you order spare parts for it? I hear they're really busy right now

>brass deflector
If you were to shoulder it normally, your face would still cover part of the ejection port. In demonstration videos the guys are all pulling their heads back to avoid this, and they're still huffing gas due to their nose being right above the port. Slight inconveniences? Sure, but why not get something more modern that has done away with them?

>Guns needing to be ambi all the time is a meme
You're a range princess. Try one handed drills with non-ambi handguns. Try pieing a corner moving leftward with your gun shouldered on your right side. Non-ambi guns are not helpful in real training or real world possibilities. If all you do is put holes in paper with your guns, yeah sure they're fine. The fact is we're at the point with the engineering of these tools that they can be ambi, so why are manufacturers not making them so? They're cutting corners.

Get the fuck out, larperator. You’re contributing nothing to this thread.

>moving goal posts
we get it user, you have autism. in the EXTREMELY rare case you have to switch the rifle to you offhand, yes you may have to move your head back maybe an inch. i didn't realize that you were such a baby that it was a problem for you. you talk this big game about a rifle needing to be combat ready, but your too soft to handle a little gas? seems like you are the range princess here

>Try one handed drills with non-ambi handguns.
We’re not talking about handguns, we’re talking about AUGs in a thread about bullpups.
>Try pieing a corner moving leftward with your gun shouldered on your right side
Literally not an issue with an AUG, just use tor hand to keep it off your face or kiss the brass if you need both hands for stabilization.

would it be dumb to put a folding bipod on my X95?

>
It's an OD one, but it's new production, just got it off Steyr's website a few months ago. i swapped out the black NATO I had. The stocks between the SA and the M1 are interchangeable.

Is this you practicing your amib drills?

Attached: MIkC8jGKz2yCfJmr.webm (640x360, 933K)

SA is discontinued afaik.

I love my 3X optic AUG. Mounted RMR on top, perfect combo.

Easy 400 yard head shots, quick to acquire close range.

Remember you can always switch between Native and NATO stock (each stock has to have matching trigger group).

Just a great platform all together. Get it OP.
