WW2 service rifles had 24-30" barrels and used ammo that had like an additional 20mm on the case

Carbine 20 inch barrel, yes. :)

20" was the rifle
16" and under was the carbine.

Shareblue tongues my anus.

In the context of blackpowder you're right. In the context of the last century though you are wrong.

I didn't realize the AR 10 rifle was actually a Brown Bess. By your logic the brown bess is a carbine because AT rifles have longer barrels.

Ok retard

By your logic, an anti-tank rifle is equivocal to an infantry gun.

Plenty of infantry issued AT rifles around. Read a book some time.

The M1 carbine was 18"
We're talking about a gun designed over 50 years ago.

Well, they were deployed by infantry so...

>Plenty of infantry issued AT rifles around
Where?

The average soldier isn't issued an anti-tank weapon.

The M1 Carbine was designed as a carbine from the ground up from bullet to intended role. For the case of infantry rifles he full length issued rifle is traditionally called the rifle. While the shorter barrel version takes the carbine title.

AR10 length: 42 inches
M1 carbine length: 35 inches

Hmmm, maybe there is a reason Stoner never called it the AR10 Carbine

>Where?
Literally all of them. AT rifles are infantry rifles.

>The average soldier isn't issued an anti-tank weapon.
Yes they were and are, especially since we're now talking about AT "weapons" rather than AT rifles specifically.

Yes, and?

You realize small arms designations evolved sometime in between 1898 and 1958?

Problem?

That its just the short version of the Gewehr 98 and a different type of weapon existing outside of the AR10 family making many comparisons moot.

That you're a retard.

The AR10 was never considered a carbine and the 19th Century standards don't apply to it.

What's a good ar10 for cheap?

lmao

PSA is good to get your feet wet if you're pinching every last penny.

Thoughts on dpms oracle? Lots of good recommendations on it from gun (((articles and reviews))).

Good to go

For some reason, DPMS .308s are far better than their 5.56 counterparts. Wouldn't be a bad choice.

Awesome. Just what I was hoping to hear. Trust people here more than reviews, hah.

Thanks both of you.
