Why doesn't the US use the Blackhawk like a Hind?
Ryder Price
Because we just use pairs of 53s and cobras

US doesn't have helicopters that smash through resistance or operate in contested airspace like an airborne tank. Our helicopters are there to provide support, if we need a fighter or a bomber we call a fighter or a bomber, if we need an armored vehicle we send in ones on the ground No need for a helicopter to carry fucking bombs and shoot other aircraft down, or take autocannon hits.
Dylan Martinez
Chibi aircrane is the best utility helicopter in the world of all time. Of ALL TIME.
Jayden Taylor
Because the Hind was a dumbass idea that got approved by dumbasses. The Hind can't even take off vertically.
Seriously this. The Hind is absurd and enormous, and sacrifices every bit of agility it could have for its silly and pointless dual role nonsense that neither conserves the numbers of frames needed to be purchased nor number of frames needed for deployment. Because if you need to pick a certain number of troops up, or deliver a certain amount of firepower, while also taking off vertically?
You can't use the Hind. Because it needs a runway. Its a fucking propeller aircraft with the prop switched places.
The Russians have learned the lesson but a little too late. At least the double rotor attack copter they have had now seems decent.
Daniel Wright
My coworker used to work on these
Brody Allen
>US doesn't have helicopters that smash through resistance or operate in contested airspace like an airborne tank
Fuck off tardnik. We have Cobras and Apaches that can do exactly that. While taking off vertically.
Blake Collins
No we don't and they can't, because that isn't their job.
Gabriel Cruz
Flying face first balls to the walls into contested space is exactly what Cobras were invented to do. And what attack helicopters in general were invented to do.
Ryder White
Is the Osprey good, or is it true that it crashes a lot?
Zachary Parker
>The Hind can't even take off vertically.
You do understand how fucking difficult this is for any helicopter to do right? Helicopters are not meant to fly directly up.
Jordan Ward
Sure it’s great for heavy lift, but it doesn’t have niche utility for troop transport or CASEVAC
Nolan Wright

Charles Bailey
And yet the Hind needs an runway, most others dont. They, at worst, achieve lift off vertically without going 90 degrees up, but still, they don't need a fucking runway.
A neat step in the next direction. The SB1 Defiant and others like it take the range and speed upgrade without the complication and size penalty of tilt rotors.
Matthew Flores
Except they can't do it, I'm sorry but you're wrong.
Noah Richardson
Something like the S-69 would also be likely.
Either way, coaxial rotors and then jet thrust or gyrodyne additional rear propulsion is the next step, and gives you everything you want from tilt rotors without the extra size.
Landon Wood
The utility section is swappable for many modules. It can drop bombs, carry cannons, carry troops, medevac wounded, carry artillery pieces or outsized equipment which woulnd't fit in the volume of a normal helicopter, or carry super heavy crates.
It has absurd levels of engine power at high altitudes as well, which makes it the highest flying military utility helicopter. Pajeets operate it in Himalayas.
Daniel Cook
Christopher Collins
Its exactly what they do. And they do it better than the Hind. Whatever you would want a Hind to do, a specialized bird would do better. And not need a fucking runway.
It doesn't need it. Its heavy lift.
>troop transport or CASEVAC
Then bring birds that do those things. Sorry, but we don't have Pelicans or LAATs. Just don't get silly with it and start transporting entire fucking companies of men in single helicopters. Because again, you run into the agility issue.
Cooper Edwards
Carson Hill
No they don't. The Russians wanted the hind to do everything including engaging other helicopters and carrying fucking gravity bombs. Why do you want us desperately to be as dumb as they are?
Apache and Cobra do what helicopters are meant to do, stay out of direct fighting and use their weapons and speed to kite around the enemy.
Xavier Smith
>The Russians wanted the hind to do everything
Yeah. Like idiots. Sacrificing the VTOL and STOL capabilities of the helicopter. And agility.
>Cobra
>stay out of direct fighting
Thats exactly the opposite of what they have done since they were first deployed.
Chase Williams
FUCK YEAH SEA KING!
Henry Davis
It has unarmored windows, unarmored cowlings over engines, unarmored fuselage and barely any armor for the crew. I don't think you understand what flying into an air defense system would do to a cobra, they operate exclusively in areas where SEAD and DEAD is fully completed.
Zachary Butler
>that smash through resistance or operate in contested airspace like an airborne tank
if you actually believe that is how the hind operates, you're a retard.
Cameron Walker
Brayden Hughes
They literally designed the hind based on our experience in vietnam. Fly into air defense, get shot down, drop bombs, get shot down, shoot things with giant 20mm cannon, get shot down, drop troops, and then it gets shot down. They lost 100% of their air force in Afghanistan to dumb tactics like this, and this armatard faggot thinks its common.

It says inGen on the-on the side of that chopper!

My mistake, was thinking specifically of the DAP variant.
Still subjectively true.
