Smol 12 gauge shells are now being standardized

thefirearmblog.com/blog/2019/09/19/saami-standardizes-12-gauge-1-3-4-mini-shells/

SAAMI just moved to standardize 1 3/4" mini shells and Federal is getting into the market. How long unti we see 1 3/4" shells on the shelves in most gun stores and selling at a decent price rather than 2x the price of cheap 2 3/4" shells? How long until we see a purpose built shotgun designed only for 12 gauge 1 3/4" shells? New production MAG-7 shotguns with arm braces when?

Good for skirting hunting ammo caps and getting over your limit with just one magazine. Or so I've heard.

sounds good to me

That is the stupidest shit I've read on Jow Forums in a long time, and that's saying something.

You've never loaded an old beater 1100 full of minis and waged war on doves? You're missing out.

Good for skirting magazine bans.

How long though?

They feed like shit in my pump guns, barely cycle my 1100.

They're a meme

That's because they haven't been a standard. Up until now, mini shells on the market have all been proprietary designs from the companies making them and have varied from 1 3/4" to 2". No company is going to worry about making sure various non standard ammunition that may not even last on the market will function in their guns. With 1 3/4" shells being standardized, we're going to be entering a new era where shotguns can be built with shooting 1 3/4" shells in mind as they have a fuck ton of utility (higher capacities for the tactical crowd, light .410 equivalent loads that won't explode small game for hunters, potential for less damage to targets at the range for people who like shotguns but aren't interested in trap/skeet, allows people who are interested in trap/skeet to play with a .410 equivalent handicap without investing in another gun, etc.).

Minis suck for hunting, too light of a shot load, shitty patterns.

It would be nice, though it remains to be seen if the market fully adopts them. There are plenty of rounds which have a SAAMI spec yet are pretty much dead in the water.

Tripfags need to be gassed

That's ironic, coming from the most retarded tripfaggot to have ever graced us

Turn your trip off like a normal retard

Getting closer and closer to my dream of having a semi-auto shotty pistol similar to the MAG-7.

>Park ranger how many rounds do you have in that gun sir let me see your ammo I just heard 12 shots in a row.

Holy shit Zed is still around kek

>implying the Ranger wouldn't kill you on sight

There is no judge or jury in the wilds, user.

you're not wrong though

sauce, preferably non-trap version

Kind of a convenient way to combat inflation by means of standardized shrinkflation. As long as the old-school options are still available for me to fudd around with sure why not.

>As long as the old-school options are still available for me to fudd around with sure why not.
Why wouldn't they be? This is just offering the option to use 12 gauge loaded down to .410 levels and have increased magazine capacity to those who want it, just as 3 1/2" shells offer the ability to use 12 gauge loaded up to or slightly beyond 10 gauge levels. 2 3/4" shells will still be the standard for years to come.

>not wanting sauce on both
haha fag

They basically remove the unnecessary extra wadding, its usually the same level of shot and propellant.

It's not traps, just idols
"Satsuei no Ato wa Suki ni Shite ii yo"

>smol
Stop that

>implying I wouldn't kill him first

You can't do that, you're already at your bag limit for Rangers.

Every ranger I've ever met while hinting has made me load the tube to the max with the shells I have.

>implying I wouldn't kill him first

>1-3/4" that won't properly cycle in my MAG-7 unless you rack it like a leukemic child gets standardized and not 2-1/4" or 70mm

WAKE ME UP

No. Aguila's 1 3/4" mini shells are 5/8 ounce rather than the standard 1+ ounces of shot for normal 12 gauge.

Have you ever tried messing around with adding a spacer to the magazine? With the 3D printers being as available as they are these days, to the point where you can find people or businesses that will 3D print things for you for cheap if you don't own a 3D printer yourself, making a few replacement followers to cut up and experiment with shouldn't be an issue.

I'll just keep shooting the nobelsport/NSI minibuck with the center of the crimp cut out to allow them to eject.

Aguila is not the standard, people have been making cut shells for centuries. Dont be a cuck make your own.

Good. The beaners at aguila can’t make a shell worth a shit

Because you're a wisened old-fag who knows a thing or two and is Very Important™?

Whenever I see the term 'cut shells', I read it in Barry's voice from IV8888.

>New production MAG-7 shotguns with arm braces when?
we won't see MAG-7s since it's such an obscure design but we'll probably get similar shotguns that only take subsize shells eventually.

>Aguila is not the standard
No, but they are the main company making 1 3/4" shells like what is being standardize. Most other sub 2 3/4" shells I've seen are still at or over 2".

I don’t think it’s the original Zed from a few years ago. That bastard lied to me about toilet paper. This version just seems drunk.

bet they all loaded your tube to the max, too

>mag7
>obscure design
Not since CSGO came out.

>bring some normal shells
>load your gun to the max when the ranger comes by to inspect your penis
>cycle them out when he leaves
>pull out mini shells that you stuffed into your jacket pocket
>load gun

Noice

Are mini's good enough for most civilian applications like deer hunting and home defense?
