The only guns Ive seen that seem particularly out of place are the shotguns, which were always a fantastical class going back to MW2. Everything else makes complete sense for a game set 5 years in the future.

Brit CT teams use the MCX, and they're the ones who use it ingame, so its not like its inclusion is without basis.

The MCX was actually picked up by SOCOM. They're using it in 300 BLK suppressed. There's nothing particularly weird about most of the rifles and subguns in the game. The LMG class is lame because there doesn't seem to be a low recoil high ROF gun like a SAW. Shotguns are a bit weird, but they're more of a fun nonsense class anyway because shorty 870s are the only realistic shotgun for IRL, and they're usually only used to breach with. Wish they had a Benelli M4 though.

Probably because they're doing caliber conversions in this game. It would have been better to start with the AUG as a rifle though, then you could change it to the HBAR model like in MW2, or do the 9mm version. Maybe that will still be possible, but it's still kinda weird to start it as a SMG.

I think its marketing bullshit. All these headlines about how "shockingly gritty" it is remind me about that Dead Space "dont tell mom" campaign, artificial controversy to polarize audiences. Dont get me wrong, it will probably have the same required edgy atrocity every CoD game has (shooting up an airport, breaking a bottle in a guys mouth, gassing a family of tourists, etc.), but the relentless way the medias been riding it so hard this time around tells me someones paying for it to persist.

I previously said that wat and killzone 2 are some of the grittiest war games but in reality I was thinkin about fps games.
I love spec ops the lines story and soundtrack but levels are obviously gimped because of development hell and gameplay is utter garbage.

Spec ops the line is one of few games that I believe could benefit from complete remake with all the cut content, good gameplay and maybe story told from perspective of lugo and adams, we already know how those end but we don't know everything that happened to them.
