Redpill me on the CZ PCR

I own glocks, but looking to branch out and the PCR seems to be a great carry piece, although hard to find.

Should really branch out with range guns moreso than carry guns but thats just IMO. What you see is pretty much what you get with the PCR. CZ low recoil, CZ accuracy, CZ rough machining, CZ reliability, Czoi forced memery. They're great carry guns that become excellent with a little trigger work. The weight, lack of a rail, and small slide are the typical points of controversy that id consider reasonably valid, although only the middle one actually bothers me. Ignore people meming about reliability, CZ is perfectly adequate in this category for CCW use, people complaining about TRS or slide release pin wear are nitpicking. Replace them every 10k rounds and youre fine.

I know a guy with a p01 with close to 15k rounds, no pin problems at all.

Gonna hijack this a bit, not making a new thread. What are your thoughts on the CZ P-10S in 9mm? I'm looking for a reliable, accurate handgun for concealed carry and I don't like the ergonomics or looks of glocks.

I don’t own one but I’ve been in the market for both a p10s and a PCR. They are both sort of hard to find right now. The main reason I want a PCR over the p10s is because of the alloy frame. In the past CZ p10 has issues with the frame bulging after so many rounds and maybe some rust issues. Other than that it’s a solid pick. I just like the PCR for aesthetics, ergos, accuracy, metal frame, reliability, and it’s unique.

Perfect except aluminum frame must be kept well lubed with high quality teflon type grease. Steel slide will eat aluminum frame if you just use oil.
These guns are comfy and offer good capacity. They are reliable.
The rest is personal grip fit.

Again my buddy has 15k rounds through his p01 alloy frame. No issues with lubrication at all. And he doesn’t clean it regularly

Referring to pcr in above. I also had a p-10, prefer Glock. P-10 hrip texture can grate on clothing and mag release could be a pain if mag was loaded; lots of pressure from bullet stack pressing on bottom of slide. You argue that it's a good thing since you don't typically want to eject a full mag.

I don't give a shit about your buddy. Aluminum frames should have teflon based grease. I've owned plenty of aluminum guns. Me, not my uncle's ex-wife's 3rd cousin's friend.

I like the stiff mag release and aggressive texture. Did you find any other downsides with it? If those 2 issues were fixed, do you still think you'd prefer the glock?

Yea, i could've been clearer there. It isnt that the parts should be expected to have problems there, just that its a good point to proactively swap them out on a serious use gun from what ive heard.

No, it's a fine gun. I liked the texture for shooting too; did not like it for clothing.

I love my CZ, and clones.
I shot mine with just a cleaning and oiling stock for a few hundred rounds first.
Then we got intimate with a complete tear down, polishing job and spring swap.
Oh my.
Spring kit is $17.
Best CZ forum.

I carry a PCR and really like it. The only possible valid gripe i can think of is the short slide might take some getting used to for some people. Otherwise i think its a great gun that has the potential to become an amazing gun with a little trigger work.

Of course you don’t care about actual results. You just want to spout off about “muh Teflon grease”..waaaah..seriously dude clean the sand out of your pussy and shut your moronic whining pie hole. Millions of alloy frame CZ pistols run just fine without your faggot Teflon grease.

You don't even own the gun. You're some nobody scrub talking about his buddies gun. Nobody should listen to you.
I'm giving Op proper care for an aluminum frame. It's up to Op if he takes it but there's a reason SIG used to ship their alloy 226's with a tube of grease. It absolutely works better than oil and it absolutely should be used you nogun mongoloidian retard.

Tbqh you should dial it down a bit, you sound like you don't know what youre talking about. Sigs are the exact same construction in the sense of slide/frame materials and there are entire guides out there on how to properly grease them to prevent undue frame wear, some from sig employees. There are also entire guides out there on how to determine the guns remaining life based on the color of the wear. Its a known issue, but most people dont even know about it let alone care as 99% of shooters will never fire the rounds needed to cause issues. If you're a serious shooter then its a concern.

Have carried one for a year. Is adaquete out of the box, but replacing just a few parts makes it a very excellent carry piece. Put in a CJW race hammer, firing pin block spring, main spring, firing pin spring and trigger return spring and that is now a very, very good handgun.

Also, for some reason people don't seem to know the PO1 is also an alloy frame.

These were me. I'd hust like to stress 1 thing outside of the whole grease argument, grip fit. The fit of a gun is personal and cannot be argued that 1 is generically better.
For my hand, the Glock 20sf fits my hand best, followed by the SIG p226. CZ's which I respect and love dont fit my hand very well which makes me more prone to errors with squeezing, heeling and trigger jerk. Another person may feel the opposite and people frequently complain about the grip on Glocks.

There are a few tests you can do at the gun counter to test fit. I'll type them out later.

They are not all alloy, just some. The non-alloy ones are ridiculously heavy though.

I managed to get my hands on one from a local dealer (took about 2 weeks for him to track one down). It's been one of the best pistols I've ever shot, and I routinely use it for cc. Never had a single problem with it.
