Canola oil
Lemon juice to clean.
Done
Add some froglube for dessert.
Filling this shit with Tannerite and placing it in every room. Shot it when a intruder is near by
Literally the lube packets they sell at the gun store and cleaning it with a rod after every few times at the range.
All lubing does is prevent erosion and rust, over cleaning is bad for parts.

Fuck gun oil. Shit doesn’t stay worth a damn.
Oils:
> FP10 / Weaponshield / Militec1 / 10% Prolong in CLP
Great for high heat / high load applications. Leave behind a dry lubricant film if the oil evaporates. Will smooth out triggers over time.
> Ballistol / Slip 2000
Non Toxic. Cult followings in some circles.
> BreakFree CLP, G96 Gun Treatment, CLPs in general
Can't fuck up using these, not as good as dedicated cleaners but pretty good at LP
> Rem Oil
OK cleaner, bad lubricant, bad rust preventative.
> Motor Oil
Preferred oil of cheap people. Fresh preferred, dipstick passable in a pinch.
> Marvel Mystery Oil
Can be used as a CLP. Removes lead and carbon from bores, low cost, good to -30F or so.
Cleaners:
> Hoppes 9, Shooters Choice MC7, G96 Mil Spec Bore Cleaner
Old school nasty bore cleaner. Hoppes smells nice, the rest not so much. Gets bore clean. Eats copper brushes.
> Foaming Bore Cleaner
can leave blue residue in bore even after patched dry. Needs followed up with something else, otherwise effective.
> Hoppes Elite / MPro7 Cleaner / Slip 2000 cleaners
Non-Toxic water based. Work better when alternated with oil base cleaners on bores. Good for general cleanup. Still need gloves because will de grease / dry out skin.
Grease:
> Super Lube PTFE Grease
Clear, non toxic, non staining, excellent general purpose grease. Low separation, better specs than Mobil 1 for M1 Garand / M14, etc. Low cost tubes available at Harbor Freight.
> Prolong AFMT Grease, Weapon shield Grease
Calcium Base. High Load / High Wear applications. Can Semi-Restore bad bearings once they're cleaned.
Bad List:
> Froglube, Ultralube, all bio based lubes
Will rancid in storage and make a mess on guns. Not compatible with standard lubricants.
>Koil
fucking awesome for bore cleaning, I usually plug the bore and just leave it there for a few days, usually nothing remains except copper
>corrosion x

Weapon shield is snake oil and falsely advertised, the grease is also Lithium, that cheap fuck would never make his grease a Calcium based one.

Very based.
My bad, WS Grease is lithium based.
Weapon shield really needs some 3rd party testing to see what's going on- court documents tend to be biased, and if he has had poor batch control it would explain the four ball and high flash point, even with "non biased" testing. Given George Fennel's attention to detail in the past (FP-10 remains pretty darn good to this day, even with his ex-wife owning the company), I'm not sure what the story is with the current formulation. That said, it's hardly revolutionary- Prolong AFMT has been around for decades, and is literally the same type of technology.
I like this stuff and always keep it around.
> 50% Stoddard Solvent in light oil, with phosphorous AW agen
> Removes carbon and lead fouling
> Cheap enough to use as an oil dip / water displacing oil.
> low pour point, MSDS claims -60F
It's also great for what's on the bottle as an oil and fuel additive, especially in older small engines, or badly maintained ones. Not as great on newer vehicles, but pretty darn good on everything else.
Yeah. I'm being flip but it is good shit. Decarbonizes like fuck, cuts like WD-40 but doesn't dry out and gets all the way around the moving parts. Obviously I wouldn't grease a bearing with it or really degrease parts but for almost everything you need to run a gun it's more than adequate, cheap and smells nice. Chicks dig it.
ballistol because it won’t give me hand cancer

Copper typically isn’t an issue. Just use my regular Hoppes Elite Solvent.

I also keep some Otis CLP on hand for my field cleaning kits because I don’t take all that crap above innawoods

You just posted it user, I use ballistol on everything
Hoppes for everything lol
What would likely happen if you just used WD40 + 3-in-1 oil?

I work in HAZMAT, we use this for just about everything.

Epic, simply epic, my fellow redditfriend ^_^ !!!!11oneoneo
Is lubricating the everloving shit out of my barrel helping the muzzle velocity or am I just wasting oil?
Hoppes for copper removal, Gun Scrubber for degreasing, Ballistol for everything else. Simple as.
Fag
Not really needed imo. Apply small amount of oil to patch and run it through barrel for storage but that's about it.
