I'm shooting my first USPSA match tomorrow. Haven't competed since I did idpa years ago. Any advice? Also, competition shooting general.
Competition thread /csg/
Checked and COOMING!!!
Hit the targets better than the other guys.
cringe
Better is good but I think faster wins. Have more Jessie for your reply.
You're not my supervisor.
>Those forearms
OwO
Idk man shoot the targets and dont miss.
Does anyone even shoot competition here? Does anyone even shoot at all?
Top 3 overall Production shooters were running CZs this year at Europe's IPSC, which probably didn't hurt their stock price any. Pic related came in 3rd overall, which is pretty fucking rad when you consider Grauffel and Llubisa were the only ones ahead of her in points. She edged out Stoeger. Grauffel of course stomped the shit out of everyone. Again.
I've shot exactly 1 outlaw match before kids destroyed any chance I had at a personal pastime for the next few years. All I'll say is listen to the rules, listen to any gear recommendations you hear, shoot your stages as good as you can, and watch the guys at the top and just ahead of you in scores to find out what they are doing better than you.
I want her to strangle me.
Doing a USPSA match tomorrow as well. Got into it last year and it has far and away helped me build my skills, not just with the handgun, but managing a plan, adaptation/improvisation, and getting used to time and competition stress. I had been shooting on my own for about 7 years prior and this has propelled me forward more than anything.
>Does anyone even shoot competition here?
Im just shitposting, Im planning on getting into competitive stuff next month but I dont really have any advice. Idk dude, reread the rules or something? Watch the people who get good scores and just copy them? IM not sure theres much you can do to prepare except just go shooting beforehand and maybe recreate something similar to the stages
i'd com her petition
Yes
Remember
chamber flags
Ear and eye protection
180 rule
No body parts in front of the muzzle
Bring more ammunition than what you think you need.
>chamber flags
Thank you user, I need to buy some of these
Will they accept colored zipties?
Last steel challenge I was in a guy in my squad was disqualified.
Instead of grabbing the rear of the slide to charge the pistol, he grabbed the front of the slide. DQ because his hand was in front of the muzzle and he pointed the gun toward the RO as he did it.
I have never seen anyone use those, but if I was RO, I would allow it.
>grabbed the front of the slide
Can you not use front serrations if you go over the top of the slide with your thumb and avoid a DQ?
I would avoid it
Based, Im spending all available funds on triggers, optics and ammo, not unitasking pieces of safety plastic.
I shot my first matches last month, both outlaw. First one was a small event and pretty fun. People were nice and helpful and had a blast despite placing pretty shit (but not last). Had this target with two shots clipping the no shoots, but given double alphas.
The second one was a pretty big event, but officially we were told to don't be serious and have fun because some of the stages were huge and meant to fuck with you. Generally people were there to have fun, but there were a few that were too serious. One was a squad reserved specifically for a youth shooting program. The kids were great shots and all, but it was an extremely serious affair that slowed the event down somewhat. Now, my squad didn't care since it was interesting to see kids out shoot about 70% of the adults. Some people don't seem to have patience though. Had a guy in the squad after us yell at us to hurry the fuck up resetting the stage. Yeah, the stage has like two dozen cardboard targets, about 3 dozen steel targets that need to be reset, and a taxes star with no shoot targets behind it that needs to be reset and scored, which takes awhile because the no shoots were peppered with spatter. It was right before I was up, so I felt hurried and rushed the stage, fucking it up completely.
tl;dr
please have fun and don't be an asshole
Now I sort of want to do steel challenge, but local match has weird rules regarding safety.
OP here
Since no one seems to have any other advice, I'll pass along what the guys I'm shooting with have said.
>start in production to get a feel for the game before working your way up to open
>invest in good load bearing gear before you start funneling money into your gun
>when practicing, moving & shooting > moving & dry fire > standing & shooting > standing & dry fire
>go slow at first and build muscle memory, gain speed over time
>wear your gear around the house and practice your draw, sight picture and reloads (empty gun of course)
>Any advice?
You do know you're on Jow Forums, right?
You do know most people here don't shoot competition let alone own a gun? Those that shoot competition are D class at best. At best.
>Watch the people who get good scores and just copy them?
No, buy a shot timer, preferably a Pocket Pro II and Steve Anderson's dryfire book. You will fail miserably if you try to copy someone else's strategy. An A class shooter or above will have different stage planning than a C class shooter due to their skill.
>You do know you're on Jow Forums, right?
You obviously don't based on that fucking line spacing.
based
I try to compete on a semi regular basis. I'll be competing tomorrow in steel match challenge, in open division with my P-09.
>Steve Anderson's dryfire book
I've noticed this seems entirely based around classifiers, i.e. stand still and shoot. Are the Stoeger books any better about addressing actual stages where planning and movement must be integrated?
What are you using
kinda... I'm doing a bowling pin shoot this weekend and maybe a gssf meet next month.
I classify in B
Limited is usually easier to start in
Is this from Eur championship in Belgrade?
Ah... Euro shooting competitors... the "guns for me not for thee" crowd.
Don't be a dick, help tape and setup targets.
great that you're going out, competing and having fun!
but how in the world are those double alpha's? Do you live in USA or Russia (honest question)
shoot? yes. competition? no. could be cool as hell but all the competitions are ran by gay ass boomers with buttfuck retarded "safety" rules
I really want to see her tits. They intrigue me greatly
good god those forearms. imagine the hand jobs.
US. They were scoring it based on the target area behind the no shoot (the one on the left was bordering on the charlie perforation, but mostly in the alpha) as the no shoot was not considered hit due to it being outside the perforation. The score keeper's interpretation, not mine. Like I said, very small outlaw match, so I don't think they were really being serious.
Who here shoots 2 gun?
Trooper Class Master Race reporting in.
I regularly compete. Only USPSA though
Imagine your dick squeezing out between her powerful fingers like silly putty
Is that the lady that watched her husband fuck that Tori girl when she was underage? Or is that a different gun bunny?
Assuming you can find girls who are of legal age, having a wife who encourages you to bang younger women so she can rub one out is hot. Probably not great for the marriage, but still, hot.
>that bra line
every fucking time.
