tl;dr Ctrl+f your channel to see if it's on my list or just post it and I will add it if it's not there. I don't want youtube to permanently remove any gun vids.
I'm currently working on getting a bunch of at-risk stuff on youtube onto archive.org so anyone can nab whatever they want and upload it where ever they want in case anything happens. This isn't restricted to Jow Forums content but as this is my home I've started there.
PS im not just after Jow Forums stuff, i want to prevent any channels from being unduly axed just sayin...
Below is a list of stuff some Jow Forumsommandos previously helped me compile. It's not up to date but I am working as quick as possible and in time channel pulls will be done daily.

Some of this is already gone but i keep it on my list to track it still. and in the future I will use pastebin or something but not this time so don't tell me to

PPS(h) If you want to download channels for your own keeping and don't know how, use youtube-dl If it seems hard to use or anything let me know and I will help.
Adrian Jenkins
I have nothing to add but I appreciate what you're doing, I remember the last thread.
Eli Foster
Thanks user! The list is pretty comprehensive at this point thanks to previous requests.
I can't stress the importance of this, however. Youtube is not idle and we're already too slow for some stuff. I'm going as fast as I can and have uploaded every single channel recommended last time. Unfortunately I think many folks here don't understand the potential severity of this because their individual eceleb of choice seems safe. It actually pisses me off that this board full of SHALL posters gets complacent about literally everything else.
I could write a full 10 page essay at how the complacency of this board pisses me off, actually.
Even if there aren't new Jow Forums channels to offer you can post other stuff you're worried about. History channels seem to be dropping lately and I don't know many of them. I can't stress how important this is.

Final bump. Trying to get any new channels/vids and also share the archive link so anons can find it when needed.
You can find any of the channels uploaded by searching their channel name on archive.org, but the link to the page is a convenient 1-stop shop.
Nope. I used to store this all on disk, and do have the space, but I decided that space would be better used for things I personally care about so most of the channels get deleted from my disk once they're fully uploaded.
If I had to guess...~3TB for everything downloaded so far. That doesn't include Hickok45 who should be ~1TB on his own. If you're wanting to download some channels you can download them in the resolution+sound quality that suits you. No one can complain if you were to reupload anything at lower quality when the original is gone. At 720p you can download everything in under 2TB easily. Added, thanks. Smaller channels worry me the most.
Julian Young
Thanks, I have a lot of storage space I'm not using and this is a good cause. Last question, what do you use to rip videos off youtube? I've used a few different methods but some of them limit the quality, some are just plain better than others. What works best for you?

I use youtube-dl. Works on more than just youtube, btw, but for youtube specifically it has no peer that I'm aware of. If you need help with it, let me know.
Here's a pastebin link to one of my config files. The one I use daily is a bit different but this can get anyone started. It can help you understand the various options, but the README is almost mandatory reading imo if you want to get specific results. github.com/ytdl-org/youtube-dl/blob/master/README.md
By default youtube-dl downloads best vid + best sound and then merges them into a single file. so "youtube-dl VIDEOURL" will download that video the best it can and that's it.
Some options I really like are the archive file option >--download-archive videoID_archive.txt Which will put all the video IDs in videoID_archive.txt (rename as you so choose) and then you can use that later and skip over everything you've downloaded or use it to as a list to redownload everything.. Or in the unfortunate situation you think a video is gone and want to check, run through a channel and see if it returns and errors due to videos being removed.
skip errors >-i
lay out directory structure and naming convention. You'll want the README for nuances. If you're on Windows, Windows limits your filepath length to 254 characters I believe. Windows 8+ this can be mitigated I think but otherwise I wouldn't recommend windows. -o

And a thanks to the user who recommended him previously. I enjoy my part of it and I just need folks to tell me what's out there so I can at least do the initial pull before it's potentially too late. Much thanks! It's guys like this who have their channels deleted and no one ever knows which puts them at greater risk. Thank you user, this will be downloaded today.
In fact, everything newly recommended so far hasn't been stupidly huge (a la NoStressMike) that I'll have it all downloaded today. Recently finished Joerg Sprave as well who almost got a decent chunk of his vids removed before. I think some were removed and lost forever, but for now we just have to work with what we got.
Maybe low priority since this guy is aware of the problem and already puts all his videos up on another platform.
Carter Barnes
Much obliged, I believe most of these are new additions. I'll get through them. Brent0331 is already uploaded, he has a pretty big channel in terms of filesize. Added. Yeah a few channels use bitchute, full30, and other services, which is great. Still we must be safe.
Luke Perry
Just checked his channel, am going to subscribe to every one on this tread thank you op ps am very shocked at how low subs hese channels have
>mousegunner Are his 3 firearms playlists the main focus here? My post is apparently spam so I scrapped most of it. This happens every thread I do this in.. Anyway his channel has a lot of videos which is just slow both up and down, so I may start with his riskier content and move from there, but I want to be thorough.
Gabriel Roberts
Yeah lots of smaller channels and I don't want them lost forever. Added
Added. For Art Alphin I'm just going to grab that channel so it'll be under West Point Department of History when it's on archive.org.
Wyatt Harris
How do you guys find the more obscure stuff?
I'm really trying to get through stuff Jow Forumsommandos consume since that community usually doesn't preserve its data (see: the Jow Forumsube) but if I could branch out on my own whenever I have downtime I would, but it always brings up big names like Ian and some bullshit history channel that's lindybeige tier. Speaking of mil channels I'll be getting the full Great War channel and its associates in time. Very good channel if you're into WW1 stuff. They've g one through all of WW1 by now so I highly recommend checking it out and going on the adventure of The Great War.
If you ever find a channel you're worried about as well, PLEASE write it down or something and keep it on hand. If you're scared that it's imminent, make a thread about it and I may see it. I lurk a lot more than I post and these threads are few and far between. If the channel isn't Jow Forums related then still make a note. I am generally agnostic to the contents of the channel as I believe the work put into them should not be lost, regardless of my personal beliefs.
Also thanks for the channels today guys, the list grew by over 30 new channels which is a big deal. Most of them are smaller and when youtube has another spurt of madness you bet your ass some of these guys are going down.
