The MP40 Worship thread has returned. Post pics of the MP40. Nothing matters but the MP40. All Hail the MP40. I'd give my life for the MP40

A simple numerical denotation difference, yet double the fun.

MP40 a shit. Krauts preferred pic related.

(????)?

What if I told you there was something a little more aesthetic than an mp40...

thank you based czexicans

The PPSh 41 and 43 jammed a bit less than the MP40. Then again, the Germans also had access to the Suomi 31, which was where the Soviets stole the design for the PPSh 41. The main problem the MP40 had was the magazine. The dual stack/single feed was most of the problem.

I've fired a genuine MP40 before. It's pure sex user.

Was on a business trip in Utah for a few weeks last month and was able to stop by a range with full-auto rentals. Picked the MP40 and blew through a couple mags with it and it was so smooth.

They're both good SMGs, though like a lot of soviet equipment the PPSh had production issues that made a few guns shit.
The MP-40 is compact, firing 9mm with a low rate of fire, making it very controllable.
The PPSh has full wood stock so it's not as easy to carry or store on vehicles, especially if you keep a drum mag in it, it fires 7.62 tokarev with a very high rate of fire, giving it more firepower at the cost of more recoil, though the high rate of fire makes it controllable in it's own way since the recoil is more of a consistent push than feeling the individual shots.
You see a lot of photos of krauts with PPSh-41s and PPS-43s because those guys didn't have an SMG and wanted one, it's rare that someone with an MP-40 would drop it for a bulkier gun they aren't as experienced with, using ammo that isn't as easy to get.
The magazine was also one of the big flaws of the PPSh, they had a hard time fitting in the gun and soldiers had to try a bunch of different mags before they found one that worked.

It would be a great gun if it wasn't for its bad, shitty unreliable magazine. I'd take PPS-43 over it any day in combat. But it is beautiful.

All yall faggots got it wrong, this nigger here is it.

Both sides didn't care for the PPSh-41 because it was heavy and the drum magazines were unreliable. The far lighter, more reliable, and more compact PPS-43 was preferred.

Sorry OP.

:(

Had a similar experience. Nearby event happening at range and a mp40 was there (amongst other ww1 and ww2 stuff). So bloody smooth. I've shot many smg's but for a weapon made in the 40's my lord..

The Americans did it better

M3s are better than Schmeissers.

Give me m3 and ill suck your dick for as many times as you want

That's a submachine gun, not an SMG, you newfag

>gi's would pick up ak47s in nam cause the m16 was plastic garbage!

is this a ruse?

the Owen is unironically the best SMG of ww2.

Is there a price where the GSG mp40's would be worth it? I know they're basically a step or two above pot metal, but the only other option is building one myself and from what I've read they're one of the trickier kits to build

Sorry, I don't have a penis

The Krauts grabbed so fucking many of these things they had their own official designation. They even made 9mm conversions that fed from MP40 mags.

Fucking Lano and Woodley on Jow Forums of all places?

>that's even better

kek, that was for anyone who read Sgt. Fury, Haunted Tank, and such in the 70s.

Non- USA countries all looted and used opponent's weapons.

> sten larping as an mp40 that eats thompson food
> better

C96 machine pistol best machine pistol

Best for the military-industrial complex. Not that great for an individual soldier. Reliability and relatively light weight are the only good things about it.

PPSh-41 had one of the lowest felt recoils in any SMG, ever. Hard to recoil with the barrel that long and the gun so heavy.

>gun made by a 17 year old kid in his garage beats all contestants during the peak SMG age

>the only good things about it
What about its sten tier unit cost, excellently designed magazines and magwell, how it has multiple parts that serve multiple purposes, controllability on fa, slow enough one shot bursts are easy

*drinks self to death*
Nothin personal, cunt

He drank himself to death because of the cunts in the top staff who decided to take the money they had paid him during the war back as 'war tax'. Same cunts who had worked so hard to have his weapon disqualified because they rather wanted to buy something British which would have boosted their careers. Hell yes it was personal.

>This angers the wheraboo

Yeah why are Aussies such cunts

Yep she a beaut

too bad she a shella as well

MP40 was more powerful than ppsh

Fucking hated the fags who exclusively used the mp40 in codwaw

but didnt have the fire rate, range, or bigboy mags.

not familiar, but I am slightly mad the 7.62x25 guns are slightly more powerful than 9mm in Ro2. I can understand having the same damage because the difference was insignificant but being the opposite of right bothers.

What about grease gun?
There is many great SMGs from the time and most are differently great.
I would say that finnish copy of ppsh43 is even better based on theoretical knowledge

Grease gun is double stack single feed. Easier to make but not as good as double feed. Also a huge pain in the ass to load mags. M3s came with a mag loading tool integral to the gun because loading ds/sf mags of the era by hand is almost impossible

7.62 tokarev is more powerful than 9mm luger
The MP-40 had it's advantages over the PPSh but sheer firepower is not one of them

krauts, burgers, bongs, bogans, and slavs can fuck off, this is an M38 thread now.

>wheraboo

This is the actual correct answer.

I disagree
>~.30" hole
>~85gr
>~1600 fps
>will penetrate into and out the other side of a man and still be lethal
versus
>~.36"
>124gr
>1200 fps
>will penetrate into and out the other side of a man and still be lethal
9mm has a bigger hole, neither moves fast enough for temporary stretch cavity to cause additional tearing, and both will penetrate fully through a man. 9mm has slight edge, at least at close range.

Love this gun and the MP44.

7.62x25 looks cooler

Wasn't this somewhat true though, at last as far as the original M16 was concerned where as the M16A1 was absolutely fine?

There were three things wrong with the original M16. The DOD decided they didn't need to chrome the barrel. The DOD decided to use a different type of powder than the one that had been speced. The DOD decided the M16 couldn't foul so they didn't issue a cleaning kit.
