Type 115 used by CSAT special forces circa 2035. Holds 30 rounds of 6.5x39mm, fired through the top barrel, and 10 rounds of 12.7x??mm fired through the bottom. Not a full length anti-mat cartridge, but can still seriously damage unarmored vehicle. Does this make sense as a weapon?
ITT: we critique fictional designs (again!)
How the fuck does the underbarrel gun feed with that magazine?
>Does this make sense as a weapon?
No.
So a Grendel and a Beowulf?
Interesting and perfect /lit/ combo.
I dunno. If FN can make a bullet turn 90 degrees before going in a chamber, 45 seems doable.
As it appears in the game, in the context its used? Yeah its a pretty good gun. Viper do black bag stuff, so the only time they do offensive work is hunter-killer doorkicking in the middle of the night and snatching key people. Therefore a compact suppressed rifle with a low recoil .50 that can disable a vehicle without harming the occupants and also (at least when apex was released) easily down any chopper that comes looking, the the perfect gun for the job.
>MR-C from Ghost Recon
plz r8
Snowflake round.
>the generic sniper rifle of single-player era FPS games
It's the best, there's no doubt about it.
The interesting part is that they probably made more rifles than ammunition, rendering it useless for any normal scenario.
Love the M05/"Yagel" vibes of that camo
Reminder that CSAT will form
The absolute state of urinalism, Xi is both 3rd L and C
The underbarrel gun is a 50 AE you fucking mong
Does that magazine width imply .50 AE to you? What's the point of using a less powerful handgun round than the 6.5mm? Utter nonce.
Should have just made the real Type 11/QTS-11.
After all, this was suppossed to be inspired by it.
50 cal Beowulf, actually.
But still a gimmicky shit round.
What's the bolt handle for?
20mm smart grenade launcher
They simplified the OICW by just shooting one grenade at a time, think the electronic programming is gone too
Nice to see a kommando who knows his literature. Even if it is a freshman year of hs stapel. I wouldnt have associated the two.
bottom magazine is unnecessarily angled
i'm kinda doubtful about the amount of power you can fit in a round that fits in a magazine that small if using ordinary modern gun powder, given that, and the short barrel i'm kinda doubtful about the performance of the bottom barrel
gap between the rear magazine well and the buttplate is unnecessary and geometrically inefficient, probably leads to a heavier gun
Not gone. The 20mm still has programmable airburst. It's just the magazine is done away and the grenades themselves are single role now. Basically, the airburst only does airburst etc. while the HEDP only is HEDP.
Sperg.
Have at it.
Try not to upset Todd too much.
I absolutely cannot play Fallout 4 without mods.
>Horrible weapon designs
>Retconned lore
>Horrible storyline
The only redeeming thing about it is the mod community.
It was actually based on a non-firing mock-up, I think Crye Precision made it.
Reminder that Russia is not a part of CSAT . (Only belarus)
Can you recommend some mods for exquisite gun porn?
I’m a console fag so there’s not many mods for me out there, but the one I’ve mostly been using is Modern Firearms V2.5. It’s in depth but lacks any custom animations. Which should be addressed in the V3 update.
modern firearms for sheer quantity or real guns and accessories replacing most of vanilla weapons on spawed NPCs.
if you're playing with this then basically you need to adjust the difficulty in a way the equalizes damage (.50 cal to the head kills you regardless of how many fucking adjectives you have in front of your name)
basically make your game into master rank STALKER or don't install it, because all the guns in the mod are extremely overtuned and designed around equalized damage
all i remember is you couldn't hit shit with it passed 50 yards
I've always enjoyed modern firearms, considering the frequency with which they spawn it makes both you and the enemies more deadly in a fun way.
Devils advocate:
>bulky because its made for power armour troops (play any fallout game and you'll see how normal guns look like toys while wearing PA)
>water cooled due to resource wars making replaceable barrels a waste
>wood furniture because of resource wars again
yeah, just a matter of removing bethesda brand difficulty where some shirtless junkie can tank 15 headshots because he's got some extra words in front of his name and "hard" translates to "you need 2 times more ammo to kill this while recieving 2 times more damage"
instead of "everything dies if it gets shot a few times, period, bring freinds or bring stealthboys". adding a bunch of fancy guns to bethesda's difficulty is just gonna mean you get 1 shotted by a single pellet of buckshot from max range while your 20mm anti tank rifle needs 5 body shots to kill a shirtless hobo
Cheers
What fucking functionality is there for the railing under the cylinder
What fucking functionality is there for a cylinder on a sniper rifle
Why is this a fucking bolt action anyway
That shit hurts to look at
Because Treyarch’s new design team knows jack shit about firearms
sure looks like so
I hate this so fucking much.
rate my gun
Too bad most modders suck at playing within the lore and I'm too poor to afford a computer that can run an ENB, because the vanilla colors are disgusting
Hey, rossi made a lever- action revolver rifle.
I’m not going to go deep into the lore but just because the Transistor wasn’t invented in the fallout universe doesn’t impede the mechanical world. Mechanically speaking the US Army in 2077 would be equipped with AR-15s with Pic rails and modular optic systems. The only reason why we don’t have those things in F4 is because the design team wanted to stick to the 50’s style tech, 50’s style Mechanics.
A lever action with a revolving cylinder is a bit different than a bolt action with a revolving cylinder...
Its total shit though
Ok.. where in the hell is the fire control group in this thing? And how the hell does the bolt move back far enough to cycle the damn thing?
>Beowulf
>Freshman HS
Your school was based, I went up to AP lit and we never read it.
>Gets BTFO
>"Sp-sperg!"
That'll show 'em, user.
I want this
I think there is conceptually enough room there.
Could also be telescoping or angled travel.
Yeah, sounds about right. Especially if it goes with the idea that the MA is thicc because of majic 60rnd box magazines for 7.62.
Keep removing all the stupid fucking gribbling and it doesn't look too bad.
Is the Metal Gear a retarded design?
It sort of seems like it.
It is, and MGS3 acknowledged that. Still the tightest shit though.
The more i look at this the worse it gets.
The Shagohad was beast. But I thought about the Metal Gear it would be interesting in theory. You could hide one and they would be quite mobile. You could also use them to shoot down Satellites. But they would probably cost a fucking shit ton.
>Future
>That means FUCKIN' HEXAGONS, NIGGGGAAAAAAAA
I hate this stupid trope...
yeah or you could build a submarine and do that 1000x better
Submarines aren't beasty Mecha.
I've put 180 hours into a single Fallout 4 survival run and just finished the story last week. Did Far Harbor and skipped over Nuka-World since the DLC is shit with no side quests.
As far as mods go, I really just equalized the damage like said, so all enemies were a threat, then just added tons of mods slowly over time to bug fox and tweak the game as I played. Jetpack mod let me get the high ground and move faster through the city, Armorsmith let me make different things viable late game, backpacks let me carry more, locksmith let me lock doors, more accurate rifles let me hit things at a distance, moddable legendaries let me buff up my character, different settlement mods let me turn hangman's alley into a mini fortress-town filled with nothing but robots, STALKER ambiance is, well, STALKER ambience, etc.
Aside from those, a perk overhaul was welcome since new perks felt fresh and less overpowered, though now that I'm like level 175, I've had to just quit alloying them since all the remaining ones are either too unrealistic or too powerful.
Oh, can't remember the name but there's a handmade rifle (AK) mod on Nexus that adds tons of IRL furniture and parts like AK-74 gasblocks and mags. Great mod.
What started this? I remember the original Crysis and that ps3 launch title Haze had it in spades, but I presume theres a patient zero.
I think they are by the end of Contact, or very close to being in it. But then they had to see fucking Ayys first before joining up, so...
Is Contact canon? I know Bohemia published it, but Valve published Hunt down the Freeman.
Contact is not Canon, no. all the other DLCs set in the arma universe are.
I always thought Halo was retarded, 1000 years from now we will have some kind of caseless/high penetrative/500 round magazine/infinitely accurate/light as a feather/ zero recoil/ hyper sonic/ perfect for all situations type of weapon, at the least. Instead they show guns that are only a mild upgrade from any weapon we have now.
Halo is set 200 years from now.
>pet the good boy/10
Not really but I do give it credit for being a really cool concept
that does not look terrible if I'm quite honest
Bad at math/10
400-500 mate.
yeah but would you rather have a boring ass sub or a bad ass mecha
From what I can tell hexagons have almost always been seen as "futuristic design trope" but I can't really pinpoint a first.
So the bees were right from the beginning
That's a spare mag... it's a bullpup
Nah man that gun is a two-in-one sort of dealie
Looks more like the shroud from a Lewis Gun than a water jacket.
“Bolt” is electronic I think.
Service rifle, g11, wattz 3000, Glock 86 and plasma caster. The rest is lore inaccurate trash.
Transistor was invested, just later. Also Beth took the 50s retrofuture aesthetic way too far. It wasn't like that in the originals.
>QRcode on a gun
Fucking why?
Take a real gun and fatten it up till it looks awkward to hold then slap on random crap that would catch and snag on web gear and call it "advanced"
thicc
Defense Gun Replacer for Pipe Weapons reskins the pipe pistols and SMGs (not revolver) with STEN and Sterling derived designs. They still look rough, but in a realistic sort of way.
The Transistor was invented in 2072 but by then it was too late to do anything with it. But yeah Bethesda loves taking the retro futurist 50’s look too far because in the first two games you had G11s and FALs.
It's better than every faction using MemeCam
I just realized, that is actually a babby/infant Shock Trooper
Well.... better late than never
What does Jow Forums think about the bolter?
It gets more retarded the more I look at it.
Metal Gear Solid 2 Sons of Liberty
>designed to be an lmg as was indicated from in game files
>instead turned into a semi automatic “assault rifle” while a fully automatic receiver somehow reduces damage by quite a bit
>also the only base weapon that fires 5.56, in the eastern US of all places
I don’t hate FO4 as much as others do but goddamn did Todd make liking it difficult at times. Thankfully the modding community got them to fuck off and even console players can get in on the action.
The weird thing is that in New Vegas the Service Rifle is literally just an AR with wood components, which is a standard issue firearm for the NCR. It just doesn’t make sense for such a widely used weapon and round that was around pre war to not be more common, and why it couldn’t also be in 4.
Chinese assault rifle was cut, LMG replaced it as the assault rifle. The customization system lead to a big reduction in the number of weapons. I love mod added weapons, but I would fucking kill for a tool to rebalance everything to be consistent.
Checking them in and out of the armory easier.
Kusanagi from Syndicate is nice
