Daily carry sword

So, it happened. The ATF caught you recreating Błyskawicas in your workshop. You did your time, completed the terms of your probation, but you'll likely never own a gun again.
"Fuck it!" you say. "I ain't going defenseless!" Despite the odd looks you'll get, you decide to carryna sword. What would be the most practical sword for defense for your situation and environment?
Pic is my choice. A falchion short enough to be quick on the draw and THICC enough to disable limbs at a stroke. Though I'm tempted to choose the m1913 Patton cavalry saber for purely aesthetic reasons, it looses some of its effectiveness not being deployed from horseback.

If you're more concerned about having a weapon than the legality of carrying one as a felon, literally order a cap and ball revolver off the interenet. Is your favorite Gloqkch? no, but it's better than a fucking sword...

cap and ball is already a firearm in multiple states

Poniard is my choice. Light weight and good for stabbing.

Might as well use a fairbairn-sykes knife at that point.

Sword is too clumsy for EDC. I would suggest Cold Steel Rajah II instead.

This. Revolver and a bowie, weapons that conquered the west.

>sword is too clumsy

Have you seen a short sword length bowie? It's fucking awesome!

How do you conceal it?Where I live swords are legal as long as they're concealed

Where do you live? In most of the US, it is illegal to conceal a fixed blade (in NV, you can conceal a fixed blade with a ccw). If I had to conceal a sword, I would measure from just below my armpit to just above my waist, then purchase a bowie close to that length and have a shoulder sheath made.

>and THICC enough
While the blade on that one is proportionally wide and likely to cause horrendous cutting injuries quite easily, it's also very thin. Capturing that in photography, well, it's a challenge, but here's the original as displayed in the Musée de Cluny in Paris. And yes, I think we can quite safely assume that Elmslie didn't screw up the thickness.

>open a big ass folder under stress instead!
You can just swing it upwards and the knife will unfold.
>It's fucking awesome!
It is. Basically a grosses-messer

Unironically a mace, because you can't block that, you can only dodge it.

It's a very similar blade

Try blocking a sword with your bare hands buddy

If your enemy has a sword, he'll cut you up before you ever get a chance to swing at him with your overweight mace. If he doesn't, well see
Against a man with no armour, the blade is ALWAYS superior to the club.

One of these, then I don't get no dirty looks

So how good was the Gladius, really? What's the ideal situation for it?

>It's unlikely you will ever own a gun again
I'm in Alaska.
Even the worst felons are allowed a long gun of choice, including ars.

its good when your up close and personal
its great for stabby things, can chop but its not its strong side
stabby things do more damage so...

The ideal situation is for plunging into a press of bodies pushing against your shield wall. It would do alright.

It's a short sword, it's about as good as you'd think. The romans conquered an empire with it, but they still replaced it with the spatha once metallurgy and economics allowed for it. Short swords never again became the primary arm or even sidearm of soldiers, that should tell you all you need about it.

>Fuck it!" you say. "I ain't going defenseless
I get a gun.

Wait, is that like a nobody cares enough to enforce law or are they legally allowed a long gun?

Even with a grommet, a mace would be uncomfortable to wear and awkward to draw. But a shillelagh perhaps?

CQC

>But a shillelagh perhaps
Yes, any walking can/stick.

Of course the retarded kansan would say this
>retarded
>kansas
But I repeat myself

Fuck off coastal retard, you haven't denounced my argument.

Mostly dependant on the style of fighting done by the romans, that is with lots of buddies and a very large shield.

You do know the Gladius came in more than one size right? The bigger ones were as big as a medieval arming sword

>pointy tip is good for stabbing
>leaf shape so good for cutting as well
It's a pretty good weapon, my carry of choice if you could only carry a sword.

I doubt anyone wants to look at you in general. I can smell you from here.

>This. Revolver and a bowie, weapons that conquered the west
The West was conquered by the trapdoor springfields and the railroad you retarded tripnigger

Calm down buddie, we are talking about small arms

>The ATF caught you recreating Błyskawicas in your workshop

What, did the prison brainwash me into going on HRT with pronouns?

get good at agility and speed. It isn't hard to grab a sword-wielding man's arm and wrestle the sword out if their hand. So if you don't want your sword to be stolen and used against you, you will need to practice with it.

Closing with a man wielding a weapon is a really uncommon response outside of LEO and mil.

Dual Ruger Old Army BP gats with paper cartridge spare ammo. If not allowed in your state, relocate. /bread

>he didn't go out in a blaze of glory
Why even own a gun if you won't use it? Home invasion calls for lethal force and I don't care who it is.

>He can't pick up a stick and block a sword attack like the movies

Black powder revolvers are still a thing.

Closing is uncommon in leo and mil too. Aint nobody trying to die when they can't pull a trigger with no consequence instead.

probably a rapier right?
I mean thats what people carried around

Oi mate, you got a loicense for that WMD

>. It isn't hard to grab a sword-wielding man's arm and wrestle the sword out if their hand
If you're not covered head to toe in armor, yes it sure as fuck is. You can close with him, but you might not be in one piece anymore.

It's Alaska. It ain't called the last frontier for no reason. Telling someone they can't own a gunnis like tling someone to just accept death from a grizzly bear attack.

Honestly I would be more sketched out at a 24 year old in cargo shorts with a walking cane than a guy with a sword

>England's most nefarious and dangerous terrorist

Rapier doesn't have enough stopping power

underrated

>If you're more concerned about having a weapon than the legality of carrying one as a felon, literally order a cap and ball revolver off the interenet. Is your favorite Gloqkch? no, but it's better than a fucking sword...

Black powder firearms are less reliable than modern centerfire firearms. In that regard a sword has the advantage of working 100% of the time. I still agree with your notion of using a black powder firearm

I live in Europe not UK and the faggotry about knives here is outrageous. While it's not banned to carry a folder like in cuckay you still get weird looks when you flip out anything besides a box cutter to open boxes

I'd take a nice saber. Good jack-of-all-trades sword.

This one is really nice.
