Saudi Oil Attack

How could those Houthi rebels launch their made in Iran missiles on to Saudis and so easily destroy 50% of Saudis oil producing capabilities while those were protected by Patriot missiles? Does it mean, that Iranian now have cruise missiles? Does it mean that Persian tech > US tech since none of those missiles were shot down. On the scale from 1 to 10, how shitty is Patriot missile in the year 2019?

Patriot PAC2 is meant for ballistic missiles and aircraft at altitude. Low altitude cruise missiles and UAVs are not reliably in its engagement envelope. This is why there was also SHORAD gun and missile systems at the facility.

Normally I wouldn't say that they forgot to turn it on, but in the case of arabs it's a definite possibility.

>Houthi rebels
Iraqi militias*

I honestly think this was a good demonstration of how much we underestimate foreign powers. It seems that Iran may be stepping up to the plate after so much aggression throughout the years and even scarier is that their military capabilities seem beyond even ours in most aspects. Our best AD defeated without a single successful hit against their missiles. It's terrifying and impressive how a small country such as Iran has surpassed the most powerful country in the world without anyone noticing until this attack.

How could a dozen Arabs fly two planes into the WTC?

You really think these kinds of attacks happen without consent?

We've been over this ad nauseam, check the archive.

Iran still has a government and military because the US allows them to. Trump had the option to initiate crippling airstrikes that would've sent the Iranians a strong message but chose to let them off the hook to play the ethics game with a public that hates him regardless of what he does. Just know that if our government to Iran would be demolished without a chance.

>still surprised by asymmetric warfare
It is 2019.

.02 dinhar has been deposited into your account

Because American AD is utter crap.

Now watch the mutts come up with the exact same excuses they call the vatniks out on:
>muh arab crews
>muh monkeye model
>muh it wasnt turned on
>muh it wasnt even there

Are you implying there was a conspiracy? But who would benefit from high oil prices aside from Russia and Venezuela?

Search the archives, faggot. We have had this thread countless times since the attack and all explanations have been given.

How big of a RCS did those cruise missles have ?

The people that own the fucking oil companies, retard.

>How
Because Patriot is a massive piece of shit.

... Saudis buy tons of shit that's nothing more than useless placebo.

So, Jow Forums, is S-400 any good?

Based. It goes to show that america is a fallen giant that places well behind Iran. Lets not forget who are supporting Iran. China and Russia are the new superpowers with technology well beyond our imaginations. The tiny handful of inventions that the US has created that might give it a chance against Iran, let alone China or Russia are stolen almost immediately by extensive spy networks and improved upon.

it's good for what it is (keeping JSTARS and tankers at a distance) but massively overrated.

Iran has had guided midranged missiles for a while user, and the US
gave the Shah drones a long time ago. I know its easy to write off non-US backed ME armies as "soviet t55s and aks" but its really not the case with Iran. They have a fairly advanced domestic military industrial output compared to their neighbors, being able to reproduce a number of foreign designs.

As for Patriots, they arent meant for low altitude threats. Even a S-400 couldnt meaningfully engage what amounts to a metal bird a few hundred feet above it.

Our AD is to obliterate enemy air power, so the only AD needed is MANPADs for helos. Drones and low altitude, low radar, low heat is a problem for anyone. This is why we are looking into anti-drone weapons like mounted lasers, since its cheaper to laze a drone than burn missiles on them. Its a clear weakness but one that should be gradually closed. US SAMs have never been a priority.

Amerimutts then
>muh quantumlayers of hypercomputed integrated airdefense will destroy any attack at any time anywhere impressive 1600% chance! how can non-mutts compete!

Amerimutts now
>muh type of attack was not appropiate
>muh crew
>muh location
>muh Saudi Arabia is very big
>muh turned off
>s-stop talking about this

The US has literally never given a shit about air defenses.

Is it really controversial? S-300/S-400 need complementary systems like Tor and Pantsir to form a comprehensive IADS. The only air defense systems that really can tackle every type of airborne threat are naval ones like Aegis, because you unavoidably need to combine them on a ship.
