f-16 and f-35 cry in the corner.

bump

is that the one that went to space?

The F-106 reached a top speed of 2500kmh (1555mph) so get fucking BTFO'd you fucking vatnik

Fuckin commie

Still holds the record for fastest manned jet aircraft.

Came here to post this

First across the Atlantic
I guess technically that's record setting and not breaking, ah well

Attached: Lindberg_Spirit_of_St._Louis.jpg (1200x841, 224K)

Worth noting it was designed with slide rules and made out of Soviet titanium during the height of the Cold War. Figure that one out

fuck you, this thing could shit all over the F-16 and Fail-35 all day

While assist from a rocket. Gagarins nutsack achieved orbital velocities by that logic.

Fist a/c to run on salt.

>Gagarins nutsack achieved orbital velocities
It did, though, along with the rest of him.

Not true, Lindbergh was the first to fly New York to Paris, nonstop.

Ah yeah I see where you're going with that, I oversimplified it, my bad. Though it seems he gets credit for first *solo* crossing of the Atlantic

Let's start from the beginning shall we

For the Daily Mail Trans-Atlantic Air Race in 1969, the goal was to be the fastest between the top of the Post Office Tower in London and the top of the Empire State Building in New York.

From Wikipedia:

>The shortest overall time between London and New York was by Squadron Leader Tom Lecky-Thompson flying a Royal Air Force Hawker Siddeley Harrier in 6 hours 11 minutes.

The trick was the vertical take off and landing shaving a lot of time off the trip at the start and finish.

Some video here:

And this video has the arrival at New York along with reaching the top of the Empire State Building:

Officially at least, would love to see what type of tech we have nowadays.

>most expensive weapons purchase in history
>consistently fails to meet promised targets for payload, stealth, vertical lift, supercruise, supersonic, and other mission capbility points (guns failing to work) despite being in service
>impartial agencies both in private sector and government keep coming out with lists of flaws hundreds of points long
>more than a dozen category 1 flaws, those flaws which endanger mission or pilot life
>invents category 1a and category 1b terminology, puts all other aircrafts category 1 flaws in category 1a and its own category 1 flaws of f35 in new category 1b to make it sound like less of a failure
>routinely fails to address flaws and fix them
>provides training pilot in flight hours equivalent to soviet states
Yeah its the haters, its foreign countries who cant feed their own people somehow paying for every criticism of the Shitbird, no way an American wouldnt like to be repeatedly kicked in the nuts like that.

Mmmm there's the good stuff.

pretty sure the bear has gone further, faster

biggest rcs on a “stealth” jet is a more significant record, i think

The Bear is turboprop

If it weren't for the burgers pushing sams this shit may have actually been developed into something practical.

The limit was literally that it had no bypass. If it had bypass the engine would have become a ramjet an propelled it even faster.

lel

Basically giant engine with wings, cool

Turboprop is still prop ya dingus. The turbines are for powering the props, not direct thrust.

>Single purpose inflexible interceptor that destroyed the Canadian aerospace industry
Okay nigger. How will the Avro Arrow compete with modern multiroles?

Attached: 1569283346542.gif (615x548, 18K)

You can't be serious

Avro Arrow was built in the 50s, right after WWII.

We were still flying in picrel when Avro Arrow literally showed us what 4th gen will eventually look like. Instead of having a hole in the nose it put a large radar there, intakes to the sides which let it control flow for supersonic, it had large delta wings... I'm not into conspiracy theories but Avro Arrow was a MASSIVE achievement and a milestone in aeronautical design.

You fucking brainlet.

reminder

>faster
>better turn radius
>didnt fall for the stealth meme

The F-101 voodoo was built before that and did the same shit so cope harder you Canuck nigger

Who needs jdams when you can just yeet an unguided tactical nuke at some jihadis?

Go back to your shithole Vlad

The F-35 can do that

That engine looks like the maw of the Planet Killer in "The Doomsday Machine".

No it didn't. It had no onboard radar, wasn't a delta, had a T tail.... it was legacy to the bone.

no

>had no on board radar
The Voodoo was an interceptor with a large onboard radar mounted in the nose you cretin

Yes it can, it can carry the B61 and B83 Tactical nuke

It can though.

The Ilya Muromets
>first multi passenger airliner
>first multi engine airliner
>first aircraft to travel 1200 km’s (over 14hr’s)

> top line burger fighter has lower ceiling and speed than 1950s leaf fighter
My sides hit orbit faster than the Pascal-B cover plate

> gravity bombs
> not sending ordinance to glass sandniggers at mach 3

Maybe because the f-35 is a dedicated multirole fighter that doesn't rely on outright speed because of technological advancements

We need to counts records only by the Western planes.

The F-16 should be a record breaker for being the first plane that was able to fool the street shitting niggers into thinking they're getting a clean sheets design
