What the fuck is going on here? I'm getting really sick of this shit. I got my degree. Where is my secure, do nothing 30-40k a year career ?

>Truck driver job
>Bachelor's degree preferred

man i spent two years in that hell. going to the library every damn day just to get out of the house just to apply to jobs every day.

try state or city jobs. they're usually more realistic. boring as fuck, but a county job got me out of my parents' house, and paid pretty fuckin well as well. now i've actually got a job i somewhat enjoy (i still make less than i did at the county)

>license for a job
>requires 1 year experience working said job to be licensed

>every job in existence
>requires a handshake

What county job did you have? I'm aiming for working in local government jobs once I leave my current one as well.

>actually have relevant experience and advanced degree they asked for
>25+ other people with the same qualifications and greater charisma and connections also applied

>tfw I have cum flakes on my hand at every interview

Yeah, and somewhere I read like 400 people apply for every job classified as "entry level." IF you aren't networking, then how is getting a job not just dumb luck?

You just made me realize every job I've obtained was from connection or luck.
Every time I apply I can't get past the second interview, and lately my luck has been worse, it's like I'm lucky to even get A REJECTION EMAIL. The college job center says my resume and cover letter drafts look "great" but I'm not feeling so great, I feel like SHIT

What sort of field are you looking to break into?

Guys you have to LIE LIE LIE LIE LIE. The only way I got my promising "do nothing and get paid well" job was by lying during the interview and in my qualifications. Furthermore most of these companies list over-the-top qualifications, because they want to outsource the job to India or another poor country, but they are legaly required to search in the homecountry first. Therefore they make this shitty requirements. Especially the USA has this problem. I guess you have to expand your search further into other states and don't forget the firm handshake, champs.

What sort of job did you end up getting?

>Apply for STEM internship after just over 1 year at uni
>"OK so here's what we do here..."
>"You interested? Great! Glad to have you on board"
>"Oh btw what are your grades like?"
What kind of country is the US, lads?

IT-Administrator. I get paid good money to work maybe 5-10 hours per week. It's very comfortable and all I know about computers is what I googled.

Fuck off. We're full.

Hey. I majored in math and get any I job I want and make 300k a year

Great for you. Guest you have a master if you get majored in math. A Bachlor in math is pretty useless as far as I know.

It's annoying but how are they supposed to know that you actually know anything and are qualified? I've heard at least 3.0 is fine. After that they might just stop asking cause you have experience

I dunno; I guess they just liked the letter I sent expressing my interest. Also didn't hurt that I was later found to be in the top 20 on my course and was applying within the uni (no idea how UK classes match to US GPA, but lots of sources say I got a 4.0).
Have you tried early applications and applying to your uni or associated organisations, as well as showing a real passion for your course?
