When I turned 21 I went down to the liquor store and bought a bottle of vodka. The cashier lady noticed that I turned 21 that day and said "You're celebrating with that?!" and gave me a surprised/disgusted look.

I drank it all and almost killed myself later that night by drowning.

Tradition I guess. It's not unlike white rum. Only flavor in it is alcohol. Whiskey and dark rims have more flavour and are nice to drink neat. Vodkas main appeal is that you can mix it with other shit easily (especially important from underdeveloped taste plebs who only like sweet flavours)

if you've never tasted straight liquor take shots and have a chaser. you will probably get sick of the taste and give up before you get drunk enough. next time you want a stiff one i would recommend rum and coke. not spiced rum, regular. i also like straight chilled gin in a glass but it's a required taste. you will noticed the hair growing on your chest after about 6 shots. have a smoke and relax if you don't feel well. good luck
