Will this generation be ruined?

Will this generation be ruined?
I mean, today kids get phones, computers and watch tv very early.
That can't be healthy, especially if they still are in the early phase of growing up, right?

idc theyre not my kids. its better they fail

The Industrial Revolution and it's consequencess have been a disaster for the human race.

Most likely, but it's not the technology to blame.

Those other kids are going to be the peers of your kids and their bad influence will rub off on your children.

This last generation has no concept of delayed gratification, they're constantly fed social media, memes, videos, video games, whatever mind numbing effortless dopamine bullshit you can think of.
It's not good for humans to live like this, you can just see it around the world, just when the internet started there has been massive rise of suicide rates and a generation of NEETS, lazy, lethargic, unproductive people.
How will the world survive the next 3 generations? I honestly think everything's going to go to shit with the few motivated, productive individuals left in society ruling the world and the rest of the sheep living off basic income or some other bullshit being spoon-fed everything by automation.

These kids become braindead almost right away, within the first 5 or so years of their lives. I think about this a lot, I have a 4 year old cousin and whenever she is misbehaving, which is quite frequently as this is a self-perpetuating cycle, her parents just throw the damn phone in her hands and she goes to youtube and watches some brainless shit that should probably only be shown to retards.

Like this guy said it completely destroys their capacity for delayed gratification. It's going to create adults who are unable to interact with each other; when something doesn't go their way they will have no idea how to deal with it because as children they were used to being able to recede into a cell phone when they were bored at the restaurant or their parents didn't let them eat dessert because they were being disruptive in public or whatever the fuck bullshit happened to them that they couldn't deal with. Imagine a society full of these kinds of people. It's gonna be hell. Probably the fault of shitty millennial parents who were used to their boomer parents handing everything to them on a silver platter, therefore having no grit or fortitude so when they have kids of their own they don't know how to parent them because "its too hard!!"

Who said I'm having kids? Do you even know where you're at? Even if we wanted kids no woman would ever let us breed her. So fuck off.

My brother is raising his kids this way, it's terrible to see unfold. They become more spoiled and bratty by the day and despite fraternal love and affection I honestly can't stand them already.

yeah it fucking sucks, we can't go out to dinner without a disruption even if it's at some shithole like Red Robin or something and she is always screaming and yelling for attention, she doesn't listen, she's frantic, has no patience, and then when she gets the phone it's like she becomes a zombie- her thumb goes into her mouth and she dissociates from reality somehow. And my family thinks its cute and funny, like "haha its so crazy how she loves that phone so much! it's like she's on crack! hahaha!" and yes it is like shes on fucking crack and I don't know how you think that's so precious and cute and funny to look at. I think the only thing to do is to realize that its not our kid and we can't do anything about how our family members want to raise their children. Kinda sucks that we have to be subjected to them at family gatherings and things but I've just started viewing it as almost a psychological observation so I know what not to do when I have kids of my own

can't wait for this future

ITS GOT WHAT PLANTS CRAVE

Humans evolved based on our intelligence and our concept of social dependency. If anything, the introduction of more technology is only going to enhance our further evolution. Sure, the next generation is going to be vastly different than the previous, but it's subjective to say it's for the better or worse.

>le can i sound smart too post

Born in 95 so I grew up with old technology - I had a walkman and cassettes, a VCR, etc, and limited net access until I was a teen. Kids started getting cell phones (like, flip phones) in 6th grade and I begged my parents for one. Smartphones didn't catch on until I was partway through highschool. I feel lucky to have grown up at that time because I feel like I got access to all these things at the appropriate times of my life.

My little brother is 7 now and apparently he's been saying "frickin" a lot because of some youtuber he watches. Dad gave him a tablet and he just plays with that and his toy trucks. It boggles my fucking mind how kids don't go outside or play with real toys anymore, how 7 year olds care about having wifi, etc.

I wonder if this is how even older generations felt about trying to relate to us. I remember trying to explain to my dad that other kids would get pissed off if I didn't text them back within a few minutes.

Growing up, children spend much more time looking at their phones than forming strong social bonds with the people around them.

Chamath Palihapitiya, a Facebook executive, said some pretty accurate regarding social media.

I'm sorry you couldn't understand me?

Steve Jobs didn't let his kids use his products

It's already over. These are thoroughbred consumers.

haha just like the guy who killed people lol

kids these days are getting television boxes and listening to the radio from a very young age. this cant be healthy, especially in the early stages of growing up, grandpa.

that generation is ruined already.

I discovered Jow Forums in 2008 or 2009 and my life has been going downhill since than.
Not because Jow Forums is such a terrible place but because it offers so much entertainment for so little effort.
I guess all that youtube and minecraft stuff that kids enjoy these days is just the same. I was lucky that I ruined my life at 17 or 18 instead of when I still was a toddler like modern kids.
