Why is rape so damaging and traumatizing? Even big guys like Terry Crews are getting PTSD from just being groped in the privates. Is PTSD a result of genes, traumatic events, or both? How common is it for PTSD to develop from that? I used to think it was just a witch hunt against men, until I saw Terry Crews' say his story. It really makes you want to be more careful around others and respect those who have been abused. The human mind is fragile.

I think he's using the term "ptsd" loosely as in getting triggered, not in the full blown clinical dsm v criteria fulfilling sense. People usually mean it like that when they say that shit in common usage, like how they have ocd if they have a pet peeve, or if they have add if they can't pay attention to things, etc

On the issue of groping being traumatic, I think back to WWI where soldiers who were clearly psychologically broken from the stress of war were executed for cowardice. Until eventually so many men ended up like the cowards the psychologists realised maybe something deeper was going on.
We've gone from executing people for getting depressed after living for months in a muddy hole off rations while your friends regularly died around you, to people acting as if somebody going HONK HONK causes PTSD. This is because modern society is soft and invents problems for lack of actual problems.

She stripped me and touched my penis when i was like 8 years old. She was in her 20s. I didn't get hard. It was uncomfortable, but it didn't damage me mentally. This leads me to believe that everybody who was raped and makes a big deal out of it has some underlying mental issues and is likely damaged and i'd stay away from them.
