to help with my writing, i identified the letters that i wasn't happy with (you may want to go through this with each letter) and practiced writing them individually until i worked out a style that i liked and could write easily (ended up as ) from there, i worked on what letters i wanted to join and how to join them.
based on how sloppy your writing is, i'd imagine that a style that requires going over your previous lines very little or not at all. that's also helped me speed up my own writing whilst still keeping it neat.

i meant writing letters in a way that doesn't mean you have to go over a line again or add extra ones, as it can make your handwriting harder to keep consistent. it's up to personal preference though.
