I'm a journalist for whowhatwhy.org. I pitched to my editor the concept of doing a "mob interview" on incel-heavy sites to explore the concept further. The media has been trash talking incels, so I thought it would be interesting to see what the other side has to say. This thread is serving as an interview, and if it's interesting enough we'll create an article for it and put it up. I'm neutral on the subject. I'm also 30 and have been on the internet for a long time, so you don't need to worry about me not getting how internet subcultures, Jow Forums, etc works. Here's some starter questions below. Feel free to treat it as a usual thread: you can respond to me and my questions, or respond to others. I'll give this about half an hour or so and then I'll have to get back to other projects, jumping back into the thread when I can.
>What is an incel? Who is close to an incel but would not be considered one; that is, what are the boundaries around the term incel?
>How do you feel about violent incels shown in the media (e.g., Elliot Rodger, Toronto attacker)? Do you think their actions are justified? Why or why not?
>Are you an incel, or close to the definition? What circumstances brought you to this point?
>Do you think incels have outlets to help themselves and they choose not to, or is it more complicated?
>Do you think women "owe" you sex?
>Are there women incels? Why do you think most/all incels are men?
>What should incels and society do to solve the position incels are in?
>What's your occupation?
