From my understanding the term 'robot' was adopted in response to the board name. Incel's etymology is something I'm not familiar with. I took a hiatus from Jow Forums when r9k became popular and came back to a /b/ that should really be in the porn board category and a /b/-like board with less reporting on pranks and about the same amount of pasta as the old /b/.

Mostly I was rambling about how ineffective the filters have become, as has been demonstrated.

In my opinion, the people who identify as robots or incels are looking to find sympathy. They find themselves seeking the social interactions they see in others and hope to find a group that will accept them - I am not terribly different. It's labeling yourself as a minority to justify the angst and frustration social isolation will bring, the kind of isolation that is often self-imposed or the natural result of ones profession or habits.

Just as the mask of anonymity brings out hostility, trolling, and various forms of racism the label of minority justifies all kinds of behavior that would generally go unaccepted by the public.

I may be mistaken, but I believe Jow Forums has always been this way. There are memes that people find interesting, and some try to find the source. They end up a few steps downhill with the watered down material found on other sites, and some eventually end up in this proving ground of social manipulation techniques being developed. The thing that demonstrates efficacy is often how long a thread lives and that's largely a function of how many replies there are.

Trolling is a tried-and-true means of getting responses. The more irritating and irrational, the more likely it is someone will reply. Falling for the bait, so to speak.

My high school required 50 hours of community service so my mom had me apply to volunteer as a guide at a museum. Probably the most nerve-racking experience in my life when I started, but after 7 years I learned a routine of stories, jokes, and social strategies that can carry about a week of interaction before people realize I'm a robot running on scripts.

Each routine lasts 10 minutes to about 2 hours, and I rehearse each routine for a few days before trying it out. They gave us a lot of material to work with, so I got plenty of practice with real humans.

I'm able to be in public without people hating me, but it's all fake. Makes me wonder how many out there are like me.

We have deduced from our perspective that no woman will ever love or acknowledge us in a positive way for no fault of our own. What I find amusing is that women also had no choice but to be the creatures that they are. I would add that people in general don't really love. Each relationship has an upfront and ongoing cost in time and some provide certain benefits. Women are naturally the ones being 'pursued' for relationships so their upfront and ongoing costs are minimal and they manage their relationships based on estimated benefits.

A solution is to ignore women entirely and focus on improving yourself. At some point your value as an individual will attract all varieties of relationships. Never forget that your priorities should come first. You are your favorite charity and should leverage every opportinity that presents itself. Ideally choose a scenario that's mutually beneficial to others or you'll come off as a psychopath.

Interactive presentations. It starts with user prompts and leads to various sections of the routine(s). Once you get a good database of routines you find they tend to lead to one another naturally(ish) [e.g. "Oh, youre from x? One of the guys here used to live in x and he told me about (really specific thing), did you ever deal with that?]

It takes practice and gets out of date if you dont practice regularly.

The biggest shock to me is how memes have become so commonplace that I can use them in routines. It gets a genuinely intimate response sometimes.

I just realized I do the same thing, just unconciously. I always talk about the exact same topics with the people I know. Maybe training that conciously would be really helpful.
