Increasing the supply of labor would ideally decrease the cost of labor, but you also have to consider desperation. The reason illegal immigrate labor is inherently more valuable is that they are so desperate to keep the job that the employer can abuse them with little consequence.

Hence why a number of chicken processing plants were recently outed for having employees wear diapers because they were not allowed bathroom breaks so as to increase productivity. And a number of other unethical shenanigans.
