This is how I usually fail
My snatches
You dip too deep, practically pause at the bottom of the dip, and your chest collapses a bit at the bottom of the dip.
Also, split jerk if you can. It's not right for everyone but it is right for 90% of people at minimum and it should be taught first.
You're catching your snatch forward because you pull too early, causing the bar to shift forward and away from your center of gravity. Pull later and in a straighter line.

Dip and drive is the same.
One foot goes forwards. One foot goes backwards. Weight should be roughly evenly distributed between feet. Recover front foot first.

I was born in 1991. I failed out of uni and lived at my parents. But I got my shit together, worked full time, took night classes, got back in full time, and I was just accepted to a fully funded Ph.D program that I'll begin this fall.

I have discovered I am much better at lighter weights for higher reps, but I don't really care for that. I can do 155lbs for 9 reps, but as I start to up the weight and lower reps I have trouble staying steady on the way down and bouncing out of the bottom to remain upright. For example, my best for 165lbs is 3 reps when I should apparently be able to do about 7 according to some one rep max calculators. Any tips?
