The amount of mental gymnastics I see on here about why they don’t have one is insane.
I just don’t understand how you can think you can have such a good workout training at a gym with all their rules and regulations, on top of the fact 95% of gyms have horrible china tier quality equipment, and the 5% that do have decent quality stuff are rare as fuck, and cost a shit load per month.
Not to mention the constant need to have to get ready, dressed, pack up your shit, drive to the gym, park car, and drive back home again, having to deal with shit you want to use being hogged by a group of DYELs. All that wear and tear on the car adds up, all that traveling back and forth, waiting for equipment, all of that time adds up in the long run.
There’s 50,000 other reasons why homegyming is better but I’ll be here all day so fuck off if you refuse to accept the reality
I get to see hot girls in skin tight clothing at the gym. You don't see shit in your mom's basement. Also I go to the gym to be seen loser.
Jayden Smith
Because my gym is a 5min walk away, has everything I need and the owner goes and buys anything I ask him to because he's a good lad. He's bought fat gripz, foam rollers, wrist rollers, trap bar, microplates and farmers walk rack things upon my request. The place is $10 a week and I go 5-6 times a week. Also my landlord is a cunt and setting up a gym in the house is not an option
Please tell me why I should get a home gym?
Elijah Moore
I'm planning to move next year, apartment is too small, company refunds me gym membership. I can inflate that number and get cash over the gym costs. Also, forces me to socialize, go outside and get some sunlight.
Luis James
>hurrr I look at 5/10s at the gym that dress like thots to hide their cellulite at th expense of actually getting a proper workout
If you don’t own your own home you should fix your priorities in life, less lifting, more working, until you can afford your own home and space, then you can get back into lifting properly
Thomas Cooper
I'm in college and I live in a fraternity. Why would I have a home gym right now?
Easton Reed
The gym isn’t for socialising The gym isn’t for getting outside The gym isn’t for getting sunlight
None of those reasons are an excuse not to have a home gym. This is the mental gymnastics I am talking about.
Isaac Phillips
>until you can afford your own home and space, then you can get back into lifting properly Okay, I see what's going on now. SHOO SHOO GAINS GOBLIN
Kevin Flores
So you’re going to be some loser gym rat earning shit money at some shit job, not owning your own home. Wow good luck with your life.
Robert Russell
>also I literally can't right now and get money by claiming it.
Jackson Gonzalez
>I go to the gym to look at women and "be seen". >You are a loser...
Christian Gray
I have a bench, barbell and dumbbells I can only squat what I can lift up over my head but that stops me from ego lifting It's a little lonely and sometimes I wouldn't mind being a part of the gym scene but I think it's good that if I ever do I've already got a solid foundation
Adam Turner
I like lifting at home because... No weird strangers sweat and germs everywhere No waiting for equipment Save time not driving to gym
Joseph Martinez
>that 30 year old guy at the gym
If you’re 30+ and don’t have a home gym you should probably consider alternative options to breathing oxygen.
Putting together a home gym was THE best decision I ever made possibly in my whole life.
Michael Sullivan
There's porn on the internet. A lot of it is free
Luke Martinez
>not enough space >don't have enough money The gym I go to is only a 15 minute walk away and it has breakfast and a sauna included in the price.
Christopher Lopez
Also I forgot to mention that it has Eleiko equipment and it only costs 50€ per month. :^)
Jayden Richardson
I have been going almost daily for a year now and have finally hit the point where a home gym is starting to make more sense. I'm a metal fabricator so I have been tinkering with some designs for equipment lately and I'll probably start building within the next few months. it was hard to rationalize the investment when I didn't know if it was going to be something that I would take seriously but after a year and a complete body transformation, I know that it's a lifestyle change and have no problem spending the money.
Grayson Parker
I think the real reason has been covered in a couple posts already. Getting a gym membership is simply more cost-effective in the short term.
I have a home gym. Unless you're a DIY-er or don't mind getting tetanus from shitty craigslist equipment, you'd be hard-pressed to make a halfway decent home gym at less than $1000.
Not saying it's impossible though
David Smith
i lift at home and at three different gyms throughout the week
never gonna make it if you dont do both
Jayden Young
living in a NYC apartment

>Getting a gym membership is simply more cost-effective in the short term. Yeah, definitely a good idea for bitch boys that don't actually work out.

Because I'm not a shut in.

>not enough space I live in a 500k appartment downtown (thx cryptos). It's very nice but still not nearly enough space for what I would want (squat rack, bunch of plates, smith machine, top tier threadmill, dumbells from 10lbs to 100lbs, and the dozen or so isolation machine I use at my gym) >I work from home Therefore having to drive to the gym is a positive for me, I don't like to spend days without getting some fresh air n shit >my gym is filled with hot fucking girls I have fucked 2 girls from my gym >I would lack motivation and discipline lifting at home I would probably go on my desktop pc between sets and take like 5-10 mins rests
>"HURR DURR! Every gym goer must be an obsessed meathead"
Matthew Perez
I love home gym. >Work out takes 35-45 minutes cause I don't have to wait >watch what ever TV I want >Listen to whatever music I want on full blast >Never worry about some DYEL trying to take my rack in between sets
Adrian Perez
Right. Thanks for your input m8
Sebastian Long
Going to gym is a great excuse to leave the house besides for work or school. You see hot girls (sometimes I deliverately touch them, brush my dick against their asses, I sniffed a girl's ass once) and if you meet gymbros. It's a social enviroment (sadly most people follow the dyel gym staff routines or do crossfit/functional training so I can't relate to them) Also plates are too expensive.
Connor Campbell
>squat rack ok >bunch of plates gotcha >smith machine idiot >top tier threadmill run outside, >dumbells from 10lbs to 100lbs Stop using dumbells as 50lb you idiot, get a curl bar >dozen or so isolation machine I give up
Ian Wilson
any 1 has tried sml rogue stands???? i am on a budget here and trying to maximize quality
Daniel Cox
I live in a small apartment and I move around frequently. There is no way I could fit a squat rack, barbell, or plates inside of my apartment. Also, it would be difficult to move the equipment with me whenever I move out of my apartment.
With that being said, I am considering picking up some adjustable dumbbells that go out to 105lbs total, as well as a stand up pullup bar. I already have a dip belt, gymnastics rings and resistance bands. I would be set for upper body exercises. The only reason why I would continue to go to the gym is so I can continue to do squats and deadlifts with a barbell.
I do.. sorta, I have a barbell, dumbbells, different set of weights a treadmill, elliptical and and a fully fledged bench press thingy. The elliptical got fucked up for whatever reason and now I don't know what to do, should I throw it out and buy a new one?, I'm currently using the treadmill but the elliptical is ma shit, space can sort of be a problem at times.
Money isn't really the issue for me whether it comes to a home gym or a membership. I'll just go to the legit lifting gym and pay for thier coaching and get a way more efficient workout than the guy lifting water jugs on a broomstick at home posting online for form checks. People that haven't gotten coaching don't know what they are missing, and their form probably sucks and is holding them back. I was that person, and you are lying to yourself and everyone else when you say that your lifts are perfect. Hell, many people I see lifting uncoached lifts aren't even "good enough", and I know they are going to get some major injuries when they actually start moving some real weight.
Wyatt Rodriguez
Is that a dude? They very suspiciously avoid the dick area when panning. I can't trust any brown person anymore.
Cooper Bailey
I still get a gym membership every once and a while, there's something really cool about being around other people trying to improve themselves, I also love getting mired every once and a while and there's almost a weird sense of motivation when I go the gym, there's something really special in going into the gym with inspirational music, my gym has a beautiful view to some random mountains and it looks fucking amazing with all the fog and shit in the morning's, I do over head press exclusively at a spot looking directly to that view and I look like a huge autist because of it.
Does it really matter anymore? It's like your gay because your dick tingled, traps aren't gay user.
Jackson Lee
Cause I don't have a home
James Gray
going to the gym is the only social interaction i have

If you cant find a good job and get on your feet while young and working out thats your issue
Austin Thomas
The main reason Jow Forums go to the gym is to swap diseases with other fags and eye up straight men.
If you don't have a home gym you're literally a poof.
Julian King
When I used to go to a gym years ago I pretty much spent most of my time either travelling to and from it, waiting for equipment, being distracted by hot women and pissing about in the sauna/steam room which of course i would count as time working out.
Best thing I ever did was to by a rack and barbell along with weights. Got it second hand and since added pulley system to it. I can compound lift safely and do all sorts of accessory lifts. I just get shit done whilst I'm in there and then get the fuck out. 45 minutes. Done. Any longer and I know I haven't worked myself enough.
Christopher Diaz
wtf..... guys i just want some good equipment but all the fitness stores in my country sell random no brand products..
Rogue's stuff is pretty good and all, but I don't think your average home gym guy needs that quality in a home gym though. I priced out just a basic Rogue gym for myself and I was pushing $4,000 I think, and I'd still be missing a lot of little things. Most people tend to say if you have a little time and go off deals and CL and stuff, you can get an ok home gym for like a grand.
Nolan Jackson
the owner of the gym I go to is an annoying condescending piece of shit. Nags me even for letting the weights touch the floor on DLs, no, not for banging them on the floor, for touching the floor. >you don't need to touch the floor on deadlifts user and you'll only damage the equipment >deadlifts don't work your traps >what's a blockpull? >I've been lifting for 30 years what would you know rest of the staff isn't any better. honestly how can you get a good workout surrounded by people like this? already started saving for the home gym, here we go brehs!
Jose Smith
yea fuck the shipping is killing me, im not in the usa and the fitness gear stores here are really terrible
Brandon Collins
i like to look at gym thots
Jack Cox
Well, I'm sure other people have said it, but my reasons are pretty simple. 1. I'm broke, this is a pretty big limiting factor. 2. I don't have the space. That's another big one. 3. I already work out at home, I just do bodyweight stuff, limited isometrics and other no-equipment things.
Will probably at least add some dumbbells back into things, admittedly.
Josiah Martin
Я живy вo мнoгoэтaжкe. Heт мecтa.

I live in an apartment in the city, do you think everyone lives in hicksville where houses are less than $500,000?
Chase Diaz
It's cheaper to go to the gym ($10/mo). Gym has power cages, dumbbells, cables, and it's all maintained by the staff for me. I never have to wait for anything when I go because it's not crowded.
Nolan Walker
Buying a home gym saved me 40 minutes of travel time. Now do that 6 timesa a week. Now times that by 52 weeks. It’s a shit load of timed saved.
Ryder Peterson
I do but I had to leave it in my dad's basement until my new house is built. I'm just living in a whack condo right now. List of what I got Rogue r3 rack Rogue bench with Fayyad About 455 lbs in comp. bumpers 6 steel 45's 2x35 plates 4x25 plates 3x10 plates Ohio powerbar SSQ bar Old rogue power bar Curl bar with Olympic sleeves Reverse hyper GHD Box Dip attachment Tons of bands Deadlift platform Prowler punching bag Rings Iron mind wrist roller
I might buy a yoke from titan fitness once they come back in stock not sure yet. I can't wait for this house to be built.
Brody White
O.o sorry forgot to add I have change plates, a rower, and farmers walk implements and sandbags from 100 lbs up to 250 lbs
Tyler Thompson
If you come there before 9am you get to eat free breakfast :^)
Alexander Lewis
Donuts
Lucas Gomez
Where can I buy a small squat rack from. I'm only 5'3 so I don't need a big one.
I'm in the Army and move every three years. Every post has a decent gym that I don't have to pay for. Piss off, faggot.
Daniel Baker
Stupid question, but how much space do I realistically need for a servicable home gym? There will be some space in the basement of my new house, but not a ton of it.
Parker Jenkins
I'm from an expensive city and live in an apartment.
Alexander Ortiz
At the bare minimum, enough for a squat rack, bench, and whatever plates. From there, it's up to you.
Dylan Ward
How many people own their own home? You're not going to fit a home gym in a tiny ass apartment.
Carter Lopez
ALphadestiny has a fully decked out home gym in his apartment
No excuses
Jason Johnson
A rack here costs around 1000$ and a one 20kg plate costs more than 100$. It would cost at least 3000$ for a home gym and I'm poor wagie cuck
Colton Howard
b-but I do have a home gym
ausbro? I got a low end power cafe and weights for maybe $1150 delivered
just fuck off ya self righteous cunt, telling people how to live their lives, its fucking despicable
Dylan Roberts
My gym is either nearly empty or completely empty when I go. And as far as wear and tear on my car goes I just go after work so it's on the way home most days
Adrian Reed
My gym is cheap and have what I need. I don't really want to use my space for equipment, there's a lot I'd rather have at my home than a gym. Also I don't have social anxiety and working out at a gym is fine.
I'm pretty sure the ones that think that having a home gym is better that a real gym is the ones who'd really need to go to a gym, because they're insecure and have social anxiety. Protip, curing insecurity and social anxiety requires you to be around people.
Carter Perry
Its good to have one, if not who cares go to the gym and lift.
Adam Ward
Would get one but I live on the third floor of a small apartment with roomates. When I get a house I definitely want to get one though since I don't like gyms that much for your same reasons.
Got myself a home gym today actually. Second hand, about half RRP but still in excellent condition. Really happy with it. Now I've got everything that I do at the gym; olympic barbell set and cage, plus a treadmill. By my calculations it should only be a year before it will have paid for itself by saving me on gym fees, then it'll be pure savings.
Brayden Moore
>Not having a frat house gym where your brothers get jacket together You at one of those keep frats or something?
Daniel Moore
*geek Sorry, was typing with my penis
Eli Jones
>treadmill The biggest fucking waste of money and space. Just run outside, holy fuck.
The best thing about home-gyming is what happened to me today
>Saturday >Usually lift in the morning >Wake up feeling like shit >Decide not to lift today and skip >8pm >Suddenly get huge energy burst out of nowhere >Head straight to my garage and do my workout while that sudden energy is present >Get a great session in
If I was still lifting at my local gym, there's no way I would have got dressed up, put on shoes, got my gear in my car, and drove to the gym, just because of that sudden energy burst, I would not have ended up going. I only got that session in today BECAUSE of the fact my gym was right there when I needed it.
This is the benefit of the home gym, it is well worth the money.
Hell, I am an Aus-fag, and pay premium ass prices for gear shit, and even I bit the bullet and got all the shit I needed, took about 2-3 years of slowly collecting stuff, but it is 100% worth it.
Oliver Taylor
>>Wake up feeling like shit >>Decide not to lift today and skip So you're saying that a home gym is perfect for weakwilled faggots, got it. Soft cunt.
Joseph Taylor
Did 170kg 3x10 deadlifts friday night, so it was probably why.
>weakwilled
I probably train more than 100% of this board due to the fact I have a decked out home gym in my house. Not memeing when I say 100%.
I train pretty much everyday, sometimes 2-3 times a day, depending on how I feel and how progress is.
Brody Campbell
>rules and regulations >china tier equipment
My gym has neither of these. Sounds like you chose a shitty gym.
I had a home gym for a year. I noticed a loss of motivation and my lifts started going down. I'm back at the gym and my lifts are back up. To each his own.
Jason Reyes
Should also mention my gym is $225/year and a 3 minute walk from my house. Nice strawmen OP, maybe you should improve your life before hating on every gym just because yours sucked
Jason Rodriguez
There is only one good reason and that is living situation is unclear so you could move across the country for work or w/e and don't wanna invest in all that shit if you can't take it with you.
Oliver Campbell
