How long would the time you can work out be?
There should be no problem whatsoever with this, as long as you are consistent and regenerate properly. I sometimes need to shorten my workouts and leave one or two exercises for the evening, it doesn't seem to matter at all.

lift/exercise whenever you can, wherever you can. If you dont have access to weights, body weight exercises are better than nothing.

Yea I think you could split it into 30 mins each and still be effective. Problem is that there's a time investment just to get to the gym and get started. If you have some way of reducing that (homegym mustard race, you work at the gym, gym is located close, etc) then it should work just fine.

Plan is to do 30 minutes of calisthenics at home in the morning, then 30 minutes at the gym in the evening. Gym is 5 minutes away so that's not really an issue.

I just think you really need to have a think about what you're doing with your time. Believe me I've been there. Realised that I was spending a lot longer than I thought watching TV so just tried to readjust and it worked. You'd be amazed how much time you waste when you actually lay out what you do each day.
