I am unable to function at peak performance if I get less than 6 hours of sleep every night. The ideal zone would be 6.5 hours. I only get that when the stars align. Usually, I get 6 hours. It's enough.

Not OP, but people are actually meant to get around 6-7, maybe even less(not sure) hours of sleep biologically. I do like to sleep in myself so I don't go by that rule, but if you want to argue with nature, we're meant to sleep for less than 8 hours a day.

No idea how but if i am 100% all good even if I get 5 hours of sleep. I wake up every day completely energized and ready to go. I typically get 6-7 hours, only because I'm never fuckin tired till way late. My GF tells me she's so jelly that I get such little sleep sometimes and NEVER look tired ever. Sometimes even after a night of drinking I'm fine no hangover. (however I drink as much water as I possibly can before I pass out).
My dad was an alcoholic, he'd drink all night pass out, be up and ready to get shit done every day at 6am. Idk how he did it.

First of all, only take melatonin when you have serious sleep problems. Fucks up your sleep cycle, and when it wears off you wake up. If you wake up in the middle of the night, read a couple chapters of a book and do some stretching.
