How do I make cardio less boring?
How do I make cardio less boring?
Run outside, never on a treadmill. Preferably in a nice park or something.
Run outside, get some good headphones and listen to an audiobook
I'll take any competitive sport that requires endurance for 500 Alex.
I'd say nix the audio book and instead listen to a playlist that has a wide variety of songs for different paces.
>find pool
>bring out 2 53lb KBs to the pool deck. Place them on opposite sides of the width of the pool if in olympic sized pool
>do 10 swings
>dive in, perform subsurface swim to the other side of the pool
>climb out of the pool, do 10 swings
repeat until you no longer fear death by drowning
>
What do you mean by swings?
join a local league of ball hockey, football(soccer), basketball.
Make friends, be competitive(boost test), and just have fun
Paintball is fun, especially if you get matched against diehard looney tunes
Time yourself
Actually that makes it more boring
hmm
try cycling brah
this.
I've got to be honest, I've been active my whole life and have never understood this. If you find cardio "boring," then you simply aren't working hard enough. Your body should be requiring effort and focus just to keep going.
When you listen to music when you run for long distances, it isn't supposed to "motivate you" or "pump you up" (although it might to do that). The goal is to have a consistent beat for your body to move to. If you're running correctly, you eventually undergo a form of hypnosis and, if you run hard enough, experience a runner's high.
Maybe I'm the one who is wrong here but if you're bored you simply aren't running hard enough.
i listen to music and think.
Run away from mass shooting
Self hatred works well for me.
Fighting and fucking are form of cardio that dont bored you
Run outside or watch/listen to a documentary on operation Barbarossa or something on jewtube
>2018
>not being /fitlit/
get a dog an take it running
Maybe if you run for short times.
Dogs can't keep up with a human during long distance runs.
epic music
day dream
time yourself/actively measuring something, create milestones to beat.
race someone
have a partner to converse with
Adderall.
Not op but running outside is boring too, never ran on a thradmiml tho, sounds autistic
My dog finds fun to run with me tho
cardio is literally the funnest exercise
Running through the woods, through the empty streets at midnight after a rainy day, etc etc.
skip rope and listen to music
I play rugby so I run for 20-30 minutes during summer and winter breaks. I've ran dozens of miles since I started. I hated my first run and was out of breath after 1 miles but I didn't stop. Now I can pump out at least 2-4 miles(possibly 5-7) and I absolutely hated every single one of my runs. You can't not hate cardio, you just have to force yourself to do it.
When I ran with my team I would always shout shenanigans like "go up there and eat his ass". Would make the other guys cramp from laughing and then coach would be impressed I was in the lead. Just kidding, I was always in the lead and just wanted somebody to munch my sausage ring.
underrated. Truth desu
Wherever I run I imagine I'm running someone down, not like usain bolt fast but fast enough to keep heart rate up.
if you have the money: concept 2 rower + RowPro 5 software (it has a career mode)
it gamifies the rowing.
You shut the fuck up and do your cardio, just like you shut the fuck up and eat your broccoli and shut the fuck up and lift your heavy weights because it's good for you.
I don't live in a place where you can do that without getting robbed or shot
Boring? Pathetic.
Take a picture of the nicest, fattest ass and put it right in front of you on a treadmill. Pretend you're chasing it.
Alternatively, find a braphog at your local gym on the treadmill or elliptical and set up on the one behind her and do the same thing.
So move somewhere else. Life is too short to live in a shithole.
Move to somewhere interesting. Like near a National Park.
Go faster and make it shorter. I usually do my cardio on a track and ill jog one lap, run one lap. Eventually i was able to jog one, sprint one, and then run one. Shaved off like 5 minutes and felt much more intense. And it did help my long distance endurance too
>Run
>Arrive at destination, smoke wax pen
>Run back high
Run outside, preferably morning if you can
Listen to music/audiobook/podcast
Run at a pace where you can focus on the music and not the actual running
It doesn't mean you have to go fast or anything, but before you know it your heart rate will kick up and you'll feel like you're doing something worthwhile
Steal hand bags from cardio bunnies when they leave the gym, you will quickly become faster than them
You gotta learn to love it or always push to break your record since you can calculate it correctly on a treadmill.
>I do incline walking and I make it a little harder every time
This
Every time I'm doing cardio I get insanely sweaty for a healthy skele because I'm pushing it so hard
>heart gains, best gains
Rowing in my homecinema isnt boring at all.
Get money n sheit
Sauce?
Treadmill is the only way I can stand running. Can watch some baseball or hockey while I run which really helps pass the time.
had to catch the train. 2 miles of oh shit oh shit oh shit.
run through a black neighbourhood wearing a white sheet
for some reason black people really hate ghosts so they will chase you and the fear will encourage you to run faster and constantly think about where your going
>audiobooks
>/lit/
I bet you count listening to audio books as having read the book huh?
It bothers me that op's image has an overstrider.
Huskies literally never tire of running
Podcasts and audiobooks. I listen to a good, wholesome comedy podcast (supermegacast) because it keeps me laughing and happy during the cardio. I could definitely see a nice fantasy book going well if you run in nature though.
Not everyone is an illiterate yokel like you who finds reading more challenging (and thus more rewarding) than listening.
Music, audiobooks, podcasts. Just google something that suits your interests, be it cars, philosophy, history, fitness (duh) or competitive masturbation. Download and enjoy while running. Vary your running routes. Run for shorter periods of time (I generally do no more than 10K in ~1h). Find a running mate. Change your cardio regimen. Download some apps that add a story to your cardio (I remember some sort of zombie chase thing). Shape your running routes to look like giant dicks on the running app of your choice. Zone out and meditate. Or simply look around yourself. Find beauty in the mundane. Notice minute changes in the surroundings that you think you're so familiar with. I sometimes get really fascinated by different lighting and colours of the same city scenery on different times of day/seasons. The possibilities are endless.
thats the most retarded comeback ive ever read
>haha you actually read books, that means you're illiterate!
go to a park
plan a route on google maps using the measure distance feature (right click on any point of the map)
forget about music or anything
make it a route you my look forward too:
some people like a shorter route, and like to do laps
some people like one larger route, so they don't have to repeat themselves
and the same thing in terms of intensity:
some people enjoy low intensity, to zone out
some people enjoy high intensity, to make it challenging and fun
I personally enjoy short laps, and low intensity, for maximum zone out, and some intensity + long path on the side
>proud of being able to read
t.wilhelm shekspeer
Find a trail innawoods and run there. You could do sprints, swimming, or HIIT. Just find some stuff that seems relevant to your goals that you enjoy. There's so many options for cardio just find some shit you like doing. Maybe listen to a podcast or something.
Listen to audiobooks/podcasts. Make mental gains whilst working out. Best thing ever.
My life has never been the same since I realized you could listen to audiobooks while running.
when did I brag about being able to read faggot?
I just said you listening to audiobooks cant really be considered /lit/ and doesnt count as reading the book
you are really bad at this and the damage control for your retardation is embarrassing even me
>oh shit, some guy said that listening to an audibook isnt the same as reading it
>"n..no.........y...YOU'RE illiterate"
:'D neet story. what's different between them in how your mind processes the information? Is any less learning/mental activation happening? What if someone's blind and needs to either listen or read brail? Are you going to tell them they never read a book and can't talk about it?
I swear, get out of your mom's basement and start talking to people and maybe you'll come to appreciate that text isn't the only form of communication in this world.
why would a blind person be doing cardio while listening to their headphones?
>run through forest
>listen to concept albums
Best. Thing. Ever.
Masturbate while you run, it works.
Go. Back. To. Social. Media. You. Faggot.
Running is a very boring sport. Pick up running 800s, much more exciting me
This. A tad expensive to do all the time though.
If you have the space, integrate training routines from sports that combine cardio and technical skills, but do them for more reps than players would.
By having the correct mentality you ADHD fag
Make. Me.
(I don't use facebook, twitter or any social media, because I am to busy listening to concept albums in the forest. :D )
Think, niqqa.
Reevaluate the choices you made that day, the interactions you've had, meditate on the direction your life is taking.
I can't seem to get bored when I'm lost in thought.
>implying you can concentrate or recall a damn thing when listening to an audiobook
Might as well listen to music and get the dopamine hits to push you further.
This
Or just go faster instead of further
Or run with others
Or run in a scenic outdoor location
Or run on mixed terrain
Or ride a bicycle

Run through a bike trail in the woods. Plenty of slopes and hard turns and if you're luck you'll run into some local youth fucking their brains out. Then you can shout out that you're from the Local PD and scare the shit out of them. Funny thing is that it's usually the guy that's the first one up and running
Once the guy runs away I get to take over right?
checked
>How do I make cardio less boring?
You don't man. Cardio is supposed to be boring. You suck it up,do it then go about the rest of your day.
You asshats need to stop fucking over analyzing every fucking part of your workouts. It's like listening to a bunch of women bitch and moan about other women they hate.
Cardio can be done indoors. They could definitely bike or use the elliptical. The argument at that point was if audiobooks count as books though.
Not if youre racing your ghost
Stop ruining your concentration on shitty websites and porn
Listen to audio books and podcasts
>doing so much cardio you get bored of it
shiggy diggy
How do you fuck up the spelling of the word threadmill that badly.
I'd like to start doing cardio. I lift 3 times a week full body, and would like to do it on rest days. Would 10 progressing to 20 minutes of jumping rope 4 times a week be good enough (or too much/too little)?
Anyone got any experience with runner's knee (Tractus Iliotibialis Friction)?
I think I got it from being a retard and going from running 3km to running 8km pretty much after a week.
How long should I not run? Its mainly annoying when I bike to work. Should I just take the bus for a week or two?
Running with your bros is the greatest thing, especially if they are faster than you. A lot of my bros are runners, and they always push me past my limits. Music is great too, but the ultimate combo is bros + music. Nothing like grabbing a bluetooth speaker and blasting some aggressive nigger rap with the lads.
join a group of people who are running
listen to music or podcast
or do another kind of cardio like rowing
riding dick or something else that fits you
absolutely
Agreed. I ran all the time, looked like shit because I didnt wanna do it. Started playing volleyball all the time, hanging with bros, talking with qts, drinking some beer every once in a while and got shredded. Its all about what youll actually do
this
>socialize
cmon this is Jow Forums
Hilarious.
This.Get better shoes user.
I like pumas. I replace a pair every year; however if you are running a lot you might want two pairs a year.
>8k
That not a lot. Just get a good pair of shoes. Make sure to stretch afterwords and to not do running days back to back.
>bike work
Make sure you have proper form when riding, and that you are taking care of your bike.
I'd say do both depending on your mood. You get sick of listening to the same thing every time.
what are some good alternatives to running?
swimming: need to pay for a pool
rope jump: i really enjoy this one
trekking: love this too, but can't do that everyday
kettlebell swings: like this one too, but kettlebell's aren't cheap
>threadmill
user...
Run faster then, and get a gun.
Biking is pretty good for you if you live near a lot of hills.
