It looks to me that you're letting the weight on the inside of your feet, instead try to screw your feet into the ground. This should help a lot against the knees caving in.

Why are you squatting weights that you can only do a single rep of? You are not strong enough to be doing heavy singles to any good effect. Do your fives.

You have some general instability, but as you continue squatting you will develop smoothness. Don't worry.

Try not to let your wrists get so extended. Put your thumbs over the bar. You look like you're holding the weight in your hands as much as you're holding the weight on your back - Remember, the bar and load are both on your back. Your hands are just keeping your upper back tight.

I'd recommend you learn to low-bar squat and stop at parallel, instead of the high bar squats you're doing now. It's probably optimal for you, but if you love high bar, just focus on my other points.

Work on upper body more. Shrugs, back movements, bench press, arms...skip squats and just run and do some hamstring and quad isolation. You need a more imposing core/torso

Low bar squatting & stopping at parallel is notoriously difficult to gauge, event the coaches at various events mess this up constantly. Instead if he does not plan on competing, I'd say he should continue with squatting high bar.

low bar squatting is preferential and keeping weight on your heels is objectively wrong - your weight should be over the mid foot throughout the entire rep.

The best advice I can give you is to move your chest and your hips at the same time as one unit. Do not let your chest lurch on the way up or down, and do not lead with your hips on the way up. Performing squats by leading with either your chest or hips will put a lot of unnecessary stress on your lower back.

Whatever program you're running, nix the squats and do diddlies for legs only. Focus everything else on arms/torso. Anything with bench, OHP, BB rows and arm work in it will do. Do something for your abs as well. Aside from that, C A R D I O.

Your torso seems to be a bit too vertical as you go down. Try to keep your back tight and straight, since you're curving your back once you get low. I'd recommend that when you go down, accentuate the movement of your hips to go backwards, so that you can maintain the correct back position throughout the squat. Also, when lifting back of the ground, drive with your hips.

Nice squat. Looks to me you're letting your torso get pushed forward and thats shifting the weight to your toes. Remember to push your back up along with your hips and legs. Should be one fluid movement of all parts firing at the same time.

i made the transition and never looked back. not only does the raised heel help but you feel glued to the floor with them on, i can highly recommend them. you will probably need to play with your form though for some time after buying (if you do) because your form will change slightly of course

most of the time it's relative glute weakness, if not a mobility issue. if your glutes aren't strong enough to press into the floor in that position, you will compensate by letting your knees cave in which essentially removes them from the equation to the point of the quads being the prime mover at that position. when you rise out of the hole, you can push your knees back out no problem because the glutes are no longer in a position that stresses them very heavily.

something to think about. knees caving in isn't a massive problem if it's not extreme and doesn't get any worse, and if it doesn't hurt you of course.

Well I guess I can always add in some direct glute work, but I've kept it fine since before 3pl8 was my max.

dumbass, when someone is squatting on your toes you tell them "heels" so that they will consciously shift the weight back and the bar will actually travel over the midfoot. if they go too far back you adjust. it's a verbal cue, not an anatomical treatise on proper squat form
