If trades and laborers work so hard physicslly and mentally, then why are they always so fat?
If trades and laborers work so hard physicslly and mentally, then why are they always so fat?
They dont work hard mentally or physically.
They don't work that hard and they drink too much beer.
>be construction worker
>up all day, walking on scaffoldings
>either operate the machine or direct someone operating the machine
>its loud, dirty, monotonous
>after work crack open a beer or two
no workout + garbage diet = fat and unhealthy in general
Been in my trade for over a year now. Everyone at my shop eats fast-food for breakfast and lunch and chugs sugary energy drinks and then go out drinking at least three times a week.
They look at me like some sort of pig fucker when I bring my lunch everyday.
If anything is going to be developed on a laborer it's their forearms from holding shit/using tools all day. and probably quads/calves from the walking/being fat.
I saw a welder once who had the thickest hands and arms I've ever seen on a man. Nothing much in terms of upper body muscle. But you looked at those hands and you knew the guy had immense physical strength
it really depends on what type of job it is
When I was in construction I saw a lot of dudes who are doing a lot of grunt work can easily burn off fast food and other bullshit to a certain point (they're also usually younger, so probably more active than the middle aged fatter guys). guys who drive the bulldozers, etc obviously not.
Plus theres smoking that hinders appetite which can be a reason some of them are skinnier.
more specific trades like electrical, h-vac, NDT, etc, you're not ever doing a lot of constant heavy lifting and moving around. so it's easy to get fat from that if you eat a high calorie garbage diet.
I do NDT and i know personally that i rarely have to ever do any heavy lifting. I'm mostly just filling out paperwork and sometimes have to lift a heavy box.
The problem with relying on your labour job for your fitness is that your body will adapt to it easily and theres no progression in it.
Oh.. oh no. Mike stokasla isnt a real person. He's an actor.
Chronic diseases are far more prevalent in blue collar workers/people of lower class areas. Usually has something to do with lack of education, access to healthy food/health services, and lifestyle.
I spent 3 years out of high school working in a shop and going to community college for CNC. Almost every dude I encountered was fat, a smoker, or both. Couldn't get out fast enough.
They eat like shit and they eat a lot. When I did it I brought my own food and it was good, substantial and healthy but it is easy to see why they eat a lot, eating at an excess means you are less tired throughout the day and you get stronger initially. It's also one of the few joys of the day when you are hungry as fuck. A lot of them go to burger vans for their lunch here in England as well which, if they are lorry stop or sort of builder community ones always provide large, tasty, cheap and very greasy sandwiches. The older you get in a trade the less physically strenuous work you do but they keep eating the same
I just read this and it is like several comments stuck together, I apologise in advance to anyone who reads it
>hard work
sure bud
That's the joke. They always talk about how hard their work is when 40% of their workforce is niggers and the rest are el goblino.
mike is pure and full of love
no cardio
If you're over 50, sure. A steady diet should carry you far enough. Unfortunately for tradefags, their diet is fast food and light beer.
shit diet and alcohol
my theory is if they're in a union their chances of being fat are much higher than if they are a contractor or own their business.
aesthetics /= strength
labourers are strong as fuck but look like shit
Is that why their bodies break at 40 and their brains fry up at 55?
their bodies break at 40 because of poor posture, they have shit all for brains because they don't anything that requires it
It's always funny seeing NEETS complain about unions on Jow Forums. Stop Larping as an industrial era strike buster
My dad is a plumber.
I worked as an electician for a while. Worked on many construction sites.
Tradesmen have a lot of downtime and menial labour, like sweeping floors and cleaning shit for example.
They also drink every day after work.
They also eat candy and fast food during work.
My father eats one or two chocolate bars every night.
A lot of them don't use proper movement. They lift everything directly out of the back, not engaging muscles a lot and they all suffer from it.
Tradesmen are dumb in regards to their own body. They refuse to wear a belt or corset to preserve their spine. Eating anything other than chips and sausage or shitty nuggets is wimpy.
Answer is that they are simply folks, who don't want to think about the consequences of their actions.
Also, every other tradesmen i've met, chainsmokes. That may also be a crucial factor.
CNC?
Because they are low IQ, high time preference, and eat terrible food and too much.
Because they all eat 3,500+ dirty bulk calories PLUS 1-2 beers minimum per day.
go pay your union dues there champ.
They literally have shitty diets and fucked up marco intakes. All carbs and fat with little to no protein.
So they are strong but fat.
Go pay your insurance premiums bud
nah. They're all pretty fat and endulge in everything that is bad for your body.
I work in a shop and see what they eat and drink...and basically yeah, it's utter shit, chocolate bars n crisps for breakfast - the posh ones eat sandwiches. The older ones usually go straight from work to the pub opposite and get hammered every night and go through several thousand calories worth of beer - the ones who go home often drink a half to full bottle of our cheapest whisky/vodka every night bar some.
So yeah, even if they worked their arses off, the shit nutrition and copious amounts of booze keeps them all looking tubby as fuck.
I'd like to say they're nice guys, but with the exception of a few, most of them look and act like they'd fuck a five-year old if they got the chance so.
>inb4 "good for them"
Strength doesn't matter at all if you snap your shit for good.
Computer numerical control
An automated manufacturing thing
why would fit encourage fatties
there's no incentive for people who work 9-5 for average money to look good
all they care about is getting through their day performing well enough at work and not being hungry, which is essential to good performance to begin with
as long as they succeed to provide for their families and have enough money for own entertainment it's all good. physical appearance can be the least of their concerns
not having to spend your free time cooking is another reason people buy calorie dense, ready to eat food
also, eating junk food and drinking alcohol is often one of very few pleasures people have in life
it's just a whole different perspective than your average Jow Forums poster's
I work in trade and I notice I tend to put on pounds more now than before as a neet. I starting hitting the gym and I've corrected it but I think a lot of work followed by slow weeks tends to make you bigger in general. The fat can easily be made into muscle but that takes dedication which can be hard if you're tired from work all day. That being said, if you eat healthy it's easy to gain muscle in trade work. I've been doing handyman/plumbing work for 6 months now and my forearms are getting bratty big senpai. I also developed a nice chest, stronger legs, but a fat belly.
They wouldn't. But Jow Forums would encourage pedos. Harf harf.
sounds depressing
Because they eat like shit and they drink like sailors.
>2011 highschool
>220lbs, builtfat
>2014 end of highschool
>220lbs builtfat
>2015 boot
>210lbs builtfat
>2016 working as chef
>220 builtfat
>2018
>still 220 builtfat
Only difference I've noticed is that my forearms have gotten stronger, and I've got the grip strength of a gorilla
I worked on a forklift assembly line doing very physical work and got in great shape, but then a couple stations in either direction were 50 year olds that just put one or two things and a couple screws and bolts on the trucks and were in terrible shape and ate pizza and burger king every day, just depends what you do
sucks to be them!
>doing labor or a trade
>ever
easy way in an early death. 12 hours a day doing back breaking work sure sounds fun!
It's more rewarding to build or fix something in the company of other men than staring at nothing on a computer all day around women and soibois for Mr shekelstien
>unironically trying to get brownie points from the big man
LMAO
Shit tier diabetus diet most construction workers may have powerful grips, retard strength and good forearms but will eat mostly fastfood and soda. Im in fire and despite mandatory PT most dudes are fat as fuck due to these reasons
This is my welding teacher. Biggest forearms and hands that look like bear paws.
pic
8 kebabs a week surely cant be helping.. R-right?
I live near several large construction sites and there is a nonstop stream of workers going to and from every gas station and fast food joint on the block. They eat that shit two or three times a day (and usually leave their trash on the ground when they’re done). Absolute mongrels.
Poor diet. Lots of alcohol. They work outside, they aren't doing full workout routines in the gym for gains.
And most are in better shape than the average office worker.
google you dumb fuck
Ha I do NDT as well. But we also do load testing, so I help lift a lot of shit. But when I only have to inspect, it's not too bad. Some buffing of paint, then just squatting and moving. No real heavy lifting.
because they are LIVING IT
40's? More than half of our company is guys in their 50's and 60's. I think you guys are confusing physical labor with guys who just stand around a shop in coveralls using a crane.
Its the accumulation of injuries rather than the actual labor. If youre lucky enough not to injur yourself youll last much longer
ill try and sneak one tomorrow. he's 6'3 240 big dude
for the same reason you touch yourself at night
maybe for daddy's workplace
That 35 bucks a month is a deal breaker. A whopping 35 dollars a month to make 70k (or 6 figures if I don't feel like taking half the year off) while getting great health insurance and bennies. Less than one hour of work...
Mike Spopavich used to be pretty handsome in the early 2000s
Yeah, pipelining made me a fat sack. Was drinking a liter of vodka a night and a handle on the weekend. I've cut down to just drinking at game night every other Saturday but I'm about to go back on the road and wondering how I'm gonna stay on track.
I work in maintenance and renovations. I'm disgustingly fat, but when when work is peak demand I am borderline bear mode. Your appetite is always at what you need for peak work, so you overbulk during slow times. I have had days where the debris I have moved by hand is measurable in tons, and I wish that was the norm so I could eat dirty and still be fit. Instead I had to join a gym and download mfp because I hit 292 lbs and 38% bf
high time preference?
Most of them don't. But if you have half a brain and are ambitious, its a hell of a lot better on the spirit than slowly wanting to commit suicide wasting away in a office.
t. trades
Extremely high calorie diets and low cardio. lifting weights doesn't really burn calories.
They tire themselves out, and end up eating takeout three meals a day. Then they kick back by hitting a six pack every night of the week, getting slammed on saturday.
Keep telling yourself that, as someone who's never had an office job before.
calories in vs calories out retard it's not that hard to figure out. those jobs dont burn as many calories as you think they do.
Not all office jobs suck. I had other shit to do today so do you know what I did for work? Nothing. I didn't even go in; went and did chores instead and I didn't even have to count it as a vacation day. I got all my shit done earlier in the week. Being an office drone can have some perks like that.
Lunch bologna sandwiches and Doritos for Lunch and Huny Buns for dessert. And Cokes every break. 5 days a week.
tfw you're too stupid and unqualified to make good money working with numbers in an office so you bust your ass chopping wood and post cope comments.
Shitty processed food with too many carbs
Mike still is a qt
>used to be pretty handsome
lies
im sick of being a mechanic lads. sick of the fucking tight bolts and cut up hands.wish i was sitting behind a desk
pure denial, just like the rest of pol
